Armin was too exhausted to even think about Marco’s question. It was true they had a, anatomy exam next week, but night shift wasn’t the best time to study, at least for him. Furthermore, he couldn’t take so much caffeine or energy drinks because of his heart disease; sleeping during job or a failed exam could be bad, but having chest pain and irregular beats was worse. He tugged a blanket they had in the sofa they were sitting on and covered his own body with it. 

-I don’t know, Marco, I’m feeling like shit...-he sighed out deeply and closed his eyes, changing a little bit his position to let his friend read his medical book. 

Then he could hear a little sound in the darkness- Thump, thump, thump, thump. Yes, he was lying in Marco’s chest and he could listen to his heart. It was beautiful. So steady, so intense, so strong. It was a really wonderful lullaby. 

-Y’now what?-Armin whispered.-I can hear your heartbeat. I’m getting so jealous, I wish mine could sound like this...-he snuggled- It calms me down.

Marco pulled his attention from his textbook to watch Armin get comfortable. He was willing to adjust how he was sitting to make sure Armin was alright and comfortable. 

“If you feel like shit, then you should sleep. I’ll cover for you, yeah?” He smiled gently. “No need to worry about it. Your health is more important here.” He paused. “And honestly,  I don’t think you should be drinking coffee.” He pointed out, a yawn ending his sentence. He barely noticed Armin was laying on his chest, it’s not like he minded it. Armin was actually rather warm, so he liked it. 

“Hm?” He hummed, rubbing his eyes to wake himself up. He needed to stop dozing off. “My heartbeat?” He smiled again, sighing. “And you know what? I wish yours was like mine, too. Someday, it will be.” He moved his arm out of the blond’s way so he could lay on him more comfortably. He quietly studied the content of his medical textbook, going over the anatomy section again.

LET’S MAKE MAMMO’S DREAM COME TRUE GUYS

So as you guys know, I hit a MAJOR milestone a couple weeks back with reaching 1,000 followers! This has been a goal I’ve wanted to meet for so long, and after almost two years of running this blog, I have finally reached it, and it is all thanks to you. It’s now 1,100 so this has become a 1000+ list. The procrastination is strong.

Before I list off a bunch of people that helped influence me and keep this blog going, as well as a list of people I idolize and deserve some credit, I would just like to say something  really quick:

You are all wonderful people. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s every one of you as followers and fellow roleplayers that make this experience such a wonderful and pleasant one. Give yourselves credits whatever you do. Artists, writers, and most importantly you the viewers.

Now let me talk about some of my baes that I need to single out. But real quick, a moment of silence for the deceased account of the Historia RPer that convinced me to create this account in the first place: angelofthewall. I do not know what happened to her, but she disappeared right before I started roleplaying full time with Tyler. Back then, my name was onedayiwillmarryher and I was suggested not to take up my current url name.

My first real long-term roleplay partner. We interacted simply because I took the step to say ‘hello’ after Tyler followed my blog. Our blogs were mere babies at the time, each around or below 100 each. I had been interacting with another Historia blog at the time that was gone a lot, but I have never clicked as well with another roleplayer than I have with her. Tyler is an amazing writer and challenges me to work harder at my replies and take pride in my own writing. Her Historia is the most canon I have come across, and has shown the same character growth as in the manga and beyond. Tyler, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have grown myself in terms of writing and as a person, nor would I have reached one thousand. Thank you for everything, including being such a great friend.

Ahhh Laura… Laura challenged my Ymir to a different extent, with the development of one of the best hateships I have ever had the pleasure to participate in. The sassiness (I have no idea if that’s a word wow what a great writer I am) that emerges when our muses interact gives me more joy than I can begin to describe. I simply adore Laura’s portrayal of Bertholdt and she is always the Bertholdt I go to when Ymir wants to bother someone.

I honestly have no idea how Mela and I started interacting. I think we were both involved in a skype rp chat while I was still roleplaying Eren and then somehow remet through my Ymir account. Mela and I have wonderful adventures with our muses, and while my muse is a pain in the butt and sometimes Ymir doesn’t like to cooperate, we tend to interact now and again and when it happens the dash seems to flood with commentary. Funny small threads, some crack shipping, bad parenting on both ends… always a fun time with Mela.

Heather is not an rp blog. But she is my best friend. She made this list because she created the online/offline images I use now and again and need to get back to using now that I’m going back to crazy threading again– Heather is an amazing person and a very talented artist. I highly recommend giving her a follow. She’s not caught up in Attack on Titan but she deals with my ramblings and my unhealthy obsession with yumikuri. Bev is also not an rp blog but more in the Attack on Titan fandom than Heather - the two are actually friends and both attend RISD together. Both are very talented artists. Anyway, Bev here also deals with my yumikuri rantings and tacks onto them, as well as draws lots of fanart and actually is behind my one-of-a-kind icon. Give her a follow as well. Wow I need to list more RPers probably than artists, but DL is really awesome too, no relation to Bev or Heather though and was pointed out to me while I was more in the Madoka fandom. DL is really nice and makes great art too. She is not in the Attack on Titan fandom, that I know of, but is behind the creation of my sidebar as well as some OC drawings and can do the uniform. Seriously. Commission any of these artists when they accept them. It’s worth it. All of their styles are different and beautiful and just - please.

~Night duty

Starter for angelic-verlxsser

Definitely night shift wasn’t Armin’s favourite. Although it was really paceful because almost all patients were sleeping, it messed up completely his circadian rhythm, so he wandered trough the ward like a really pale ghost. Lucky for him, there was barely nothing to do after 1 am, so he could take a little nap in the staff lounge. The other nurses couldn’t blame him, he was a student after all, he wasn’t still prepared for standing all night awake. Moreover, it was his heart condition, he couldn’t push himself so hard or he’ll be the one lying in a hospital bed. 

At least, he could count with his best friend in all world: Marco. He was a nursing student like him and they both were in the same ward working in the same shifts, so they became buddies in the first year of college. They treated each other almost as brothers and they cared so much about each other. Furthermore, Marco knew about Armin’s disease, although he hasn0t seen how far could it go. 

Armin went to the coffee machine in the waiting room to get a white coffee and came back to the staff lounge, were Marco was. He sit beside him and rested his head in his shoulder. He was about to fall asleep again, but he knew he had to remain awake until his shift was over. 

-Are you tired too, Marco?-he asked him with a sleepy voice.- I feel like a truck just ran me over.

“’M exhausted...” The freckled brunet answered, his chin resting on his hand, his elbow propped up on the medical textbook he was slouched over. Since there was never anything to do during night shift, he took the opportunity to study. Well, when he was awake, that is. Most of the time he caught himself dozing off while studying. It’s a miracle he was still up and aware enough to answer Armin’s question. 

“Is there any more coffee?” He asked, blinking his eyes. He rubbed them with the heel of is hands before looking down at Armin, who was resting his head on his broad shoulder. “God knows I need it.” He huffed, returning his gaze to his book to attempt studying. “Maybe we could study together? And attempt to stay awake? Unless you need a nap, I could cover for you.” He shrugged, one shoulder more than the other. He made sure not to jostle Armin as he leaned on him.
