Sometimes you happen upon stuff like this and are reminded in faded red and sepia tones why you couldn’t possibly live without the internet.
Welp, back at it. Happy Monday.
I’m telling you, do not step to these ladies with a snowball fight. They are not about your reindeer games. And look at Shirley pulling one from behind her back. What?! They weren’t ready.
Laverne’s had better evenings.
K so we’re gonna be done singing now.
"You got to know how to handle yourself when you’re out there under the big ball." — Charmayne
And wardrobe attempts another assassination of me. Color, gold and pearl coordination all on razor sharp point. Breathtaking style contrasts leaving me all dizzy and weak. The death blow is Shirley’s crinoline matching Laverne’s sweater EX-EFFING-ACTLY.
The fact that this never happened will torment me forever:
TV Land president Larry Jones said he is developing a loosely scripted show featuring the real Laverne & Shirley, Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams. As themselves. He said a pilot, with the duo living together at Penny’s house, is scheduled to shoot next month. It would pair the actresses in a series for the first time since collaborating on the long-running sitcom, “Laverne & Shirley.”
Welp.
Happy Weekend!
ET interviews the gang. Penny is notably absent, no doubt because of her less than terrific experience with ET during her book tour (it was super bad). This is a weird, uncomfortable interview, with the focus on Cindy, who seems generally distressed, especially when they ask where Penny is— watch her when others discuss. It’s clear that she’s not thrilled with the line of questioning, and really, having seen her a couple months ago in person (fabulousness! adore!), she just doesn’t look like herself at all here. Still, there’s Big Rosie! And Rhonda! And Eddie gets a funny line in. And it’s always great to see David. Just wish the circumstances were better. Someday…
But that joke towards the end though! ♥
Yes Eddie, Yes!!
When I knew this show wasn’t going to be another Happy Days.
39 years ago, on this very night, at this very time (Eastern), Laverne & Shirley premiered on ABC, immediately and handily winning the hearts of American television viewers.
