no because, ‘jayce will understand’ despite their disagreement. viktor was so certain that jayce would come around to see it from his perspective, as he always had. then to the HURT on viktors face in the last ep when he realised jayce was trying to fight him for real. the heartbreak that he was wrong, that jayce was against him. their goals were now too different to not need to kill each other for their own causes. not at all what viktor had hoped for.

only for the ‘understanding’ to finally reveal itself, not just as jayce understanding viktors actions, but also viktors PAIN. his trauma, physical AND emotional. his MOTIVES. jayce knew exactly why viktor was doing all of this, and even though jayce had changed so much and suffered so immensely as a result, all he cared about was being with viktor again. it was a fundamental truth for him, that viktor was lovable exactly as he was, the entire time. nothing viktor had done could change that.

jayce understood the ENTIRE TIME. and in that final scene, after jayces confession, viktor comes to understand this himself.
