any tips for new traders?
I don’t trade a lot, but here’s some personal advice from my experiences:
1. Build a list or a website of your collection. Better if you have an Encora profile. I sometimes receive emails like “I have these videos xxxx can I have your xxxx” and I just don’t feel like trading with them. Most traders don’t accept “This for That” trading.
2. Write your email properly. Show your courtesy. Do not spam others if you don’t get a reply. Follow other traders’ rules as they stated.
3. For new traders, try to trade with those who also has a small collection first. The chance of a successful trade will be higher. But you can also reach out politely to see if large traders are willing to gift you some videos. I believe most are always willing to help newbies out!
when can i expect a response to a request to buy a boot?
Hi there, normally I respond in 24 hours.
If you didn’t hear from me for a long time-
1. Your email could went into spam, but that was rare. Pls use the contact form on my site and try again.
2. You didn’t read what I wrote on my site. Pls check if you had provided all the info I need correctly and try again.
3. You are a known leaker and you spammed me. Don't try again.

Hi everyone especially phans,
Just wanna let you know that all my Phantom Broadway masters are open for trade starting April 16, 2024, one year since its closing on Broadway.
Pls don’t email me for trading though, I don’t have the time or the energy. I recommend you trade with our beloved @glassprism who has got most of my videos. She’s literally a living phantom museum so please pay tribute to her work.
Sorry if I didn’t reply to some trading requests last year. I feel too overwhelmed.
Thank you all! Hope the phandom has recovered a bit throughout the year.

Hi there i am new to the theatre community so i hope you don't mind this question :)) what does understudy mean is it like a temporary replacement for an actor?
Hi, you can google this I think- but I am happy to answer.
An understudy (u/s) is an actor who is responsible for stepping into the role whenever the principal actor calls out, no matter it’s a sick leave or a vacation plan. They are usually in the ensemble of a show.
And in the theatre world we appreciate understudies. Their job is hard to do, and they don’t get enough credit even if they have the same amount of talent as principals. If you ever see an understudy at a show, please show them the greatest respect and love.
Temporary replacement (t/r) is a different situation. It’s a short principal run during which an actor plays the role every day. This usually happens when a new actor the production booked cannot arrive instantly after the previous actor left, or the principal actor needs to take a break for a few months. When the time gap is too long for the understudies to step in, they have to find someone else to fill the shoe.
Hope this is clear enough!

I've gotten this request enough times that I finally decided to stop being lazy and make one!

Hello! I recently made a post asking if anyone had a recording of the same cast that I took my kid to for his first Phantom back in February, which was Ben Crawford, Julia Udine, and Paul Adam Schaefer. However I wound up bringing him back last weekend for his second (and last 😭) show. That time we saw Jeremy Stolle, Julia Udine and John Riddle.
While I would love to have a recording of the same performers from his first show, his last would be amazing too, and I heard you might have video of Jeremy, Julia and John performing together. Unfortunately I am a very new phan and I have no videos or audio to offer in trade, but I would happily pay, and I also do silly cartoons if art would be to your liking. This would just be for me to put on a DVD for my son and wouldn't be shared elsewhere.
If the recording isn't one you want to share than no worries, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. My son adores Phantom and enjoyed seeing it in person so much, I'd love to give him the chance to somewhat relive the experience. 😊 Thanks!
I know how closing makes us feel, so here you go, phans.

A good show, especially PONR & Finale. From last week, when Jeremy took over for 7 performances. Normally they don’t schedule phantom u/s dates like this when the principal calls out, so I guess it’s Jeremy himself wanted to go on, while the others didn’t or had some issues. More than a decade in this role, I know he’s just as sentimental as we are. But at least he got to do this a few more times before closing.
Virtual hugs to all phans out there!
