A few weeks back I received a request to record one of the new-ish pieces written for Masquerade, “The Phantom’s Introduction”
I threw together a track and happily obliged! And as always if anyone on the production team sees this I am absolutely still available if you need Phantoms ☺️
You all may like to know what they had at the merch stand today following the matinees of Masquerade…
Some new acquisitions from Studio D FX! Crawford and modern Broadway designs :)
It’s been a little over six weeks since my vocal cord surgery and yesterday I finally let myself try to sing this in the original key and recorded the first time.
It feels so amazing having my voice come back to the way it was after all this time ♥️ I’ll forever be grateful to Telly for being the inspiration for getting the surgery done.
Saw your husband as Phantom this evening
Yaaaassss
Telly liked it ☺️
My gift for Telly Leung to thank him for giving me the courage to get my vocal cord surgery by sharing his story. I’m gonna give it to him on Tuesday night - the night before my vocal cord surgery. Hand painted on canvas using acrylic paint/acrylic markers.
Finally got to go and see the 8pm pulse! Clay Singer was amazing and was so excited to take a picture with me!

Sammy Davis Jr. - All I Ask Of You (Reprise) ("The Phantom of the Opera" AI Recreation)
In 1988, Sammy Davis Jr. attended the opening night of "The Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway and became a massive fan. He ended up attending the show twice in New York, twice in the West End, and twice in Los Angeles before he passed away.
In late 1988, Sammy began to include "The Music of the Night" in his act as it was a role that he had great interest in playing - and behind the scenes there were talks/negotiations being made to make this happen.
The first attempt was to be a takeover of the West End production at some point in 1989, however this fell through. Next, the plan was that Sammy was actually going to open the upcoming production in Toronto as The Phantom. Unfortunately, due to Sammy's throat cancer diagnosis and eventual passing this was not to be.
Thanks to the recent AI voice-training technology, an AI has been trained in Sammy Davis Jr.'s 1985-1988 voice, and we have been able to simulate what he may have sounded like singing the closing of act one, the "All I Ask Of You (Reprise)", featuring the duo that would've been his Raoul and Christine, the late great Byron Nease, and the divine Rebecca Caine. It is a very interesting look into what could've been. Sammy's vocals were originally sung by someone singing the part with his mannerisms, and then run through the AI.
You will note the lack of falsetto which is usually used for the entire first section - Sammy did not have much of a falsetto to speak of and likely would not have attempted it here, hence the first section where it is sung an octave down, and then jumping to the written octave when it felt more dramatically appropriate for him to be singing at the volume he'd have needed to use to sing that section.

It is a very interesting look into what could've been. Rebecca's vocals are taken directly from the Canadian cast album.
