I think that the most bittersweet moment of the Gilmore Girls series finale is realizing that the final scene we ever got to see of Richard Gilmore was of him telling Lorelai how he proud he was of her and that she was a remarkable woman. And realizing now 10 years later that when Emily tells him to stop being so sentimental because “it’s not as though the two of you are saying goodbye” that she was wrong and that it was his actual goodbye to the audience is just so incredibly sad.
