Alex just gave her an incredulous look. If she didn’t notice the way she was looking at Josh, she was missing a lot. He may have been a guy who would rather be alone, but he knew what was going on. It didn’t take a genius to figure any of that out. He had been through that before–not exactly married, but it was close. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest. “No, I’m good,” he said. He wasn’t very interested in a relationship right now–things had faded from his failed engagement. Alex watched her take the mask back. To him, it was a symbol of what they did. Their work was very important and so was concealing their identities. “Mmm…..” he hummed softly, watching her again, and he leaned back against his desk. His brow furrowed as she mentioned something about decorating and his voice returned to his growly state again. “Yeah. I don’t think so.”
“Uh, yeah. I think so.” Angel nodded her head when Alex refused to let her decorate the cave. “It’s gonna happen, or did you miss the part where I said that I’d do it whether you like it or not? You need a little sunshine in your life and that’s clearly where I come in because if I don’t do something about that grumpy cat mood of yours, you’ll be a dark cloud for the rest of your life.” the blonde commented, that same smirk still firmly plastered around her lips as she looked at the man who was leading her team. “But you know what they say about clouds, right? They all have a silver lining and look, here I am!” Angel widened her arms to give her words more effect, just to lighten the mood since things had been grim enough before they’d worked this whole thing out. “If the cops come for me though, I don’t want you involved. You have to promise me that you’ll stay away, alright? This is my battle to fight and not yours, so promise me.”

Freya thoroughly enjoyed her job. She got to work in fashion, something she had always had an affinity for. She also got to interact with people, something else she always enjoyed despite the teasing she had received as a child for not having a father around. The customer she was currently assisting nodded as she listened intently to the advice that Freya was giving. She thanked the brunette and agreed that she would take the top, along with a charming necklace Freya suggested as well. Leading the customer to the counter, Freya rang her up. She carefully wrapped the items up in some tissue for the customer before placing them in a bag and handed it over to her. “Thanks for shopping with us,” she thanked with a warm smile. Once the customer left, Freya turned to her boss, who was working nearby on some sketches. “Yet another satisfied customer,” she smirked happily.
“Yeah, I can see that.” she commented, the pencil moving between her fingers as she looked back to Freya who was now beside her. The customer seemed to trust her employee’s taste though, which was a good thing and Angel hadn’t had any complaints about anything so far. “I didn’t expect her to take the necklace too, so kudos. If you keep that up, we won’t have any clothes left in here at some point. Some normalcy was good now that the league had left and the blonde was glad to see that people were still coming in. You’re just gonna make me work even harder to get these sketches and everything done, aren’t you?”

“Should be fifteen minutes or less…” he answered, looking around again. His heart was racing. Someone should be here right now, maybe the police or something but he knew the team was on their way. Supernatural circumstances just weren’t on the list of reason for them to make things an urgent matter. “Okay,” he nodded slowly. What that meant was to try to get everyone to listen to them. Convincing everyone wasn’t going to be easy. He looked around. “Fire alarm. Pull the alarm and I’ll look for the woman.”
Angel stormed off right away, looking for the fire alarm that had to be around somewhere. The blonde didn’t want to do this, but it was either this or a lot of people would get hurt and die, so she had no choice here. It took a short while before she found the fire alarm, but upon spotting it, she instantly pulled it to evacuate everyone. The alarm was loud, but that was exactly the point because people were now panicking and searching for the nearest exit, which calmed her senses a little bit. “This gives us a better chance at spotting the woman, with everyone leaving.”

“I didn’t want you to find out from someone else, I needed you to hear it from me and if the police is gonna look for their killers… I don’t know what’ll happen to me. I didn’t exactly think about fingerprints or anything at the time. I know I didn’t physically kill them, but the people who did already left the city and the police might not be able to find them, which might lead them to me instead.”
“You know I’d gladly represent you if it came to it. You’re my best friend and I won’t let you get locked away without a fight. I’m sure there has to be security footage from a nearby business that shows what happened.”
“I– No. I can’t ask that of you, Anna. And there is no footage available from a nearby business, it was at an abandoned warehouse where there were no cameras.”
“Angel, I would help you out in a heartbeat. You know that. You would need one of the best, and I am one of the best. You should know by now that I’d gladly risk my reputation to help defend one of my best friends.”

Josh could feel himself slipping away in what the two of them were doing, and it was not good, because if he let himself lose control, then he wouldn’t be able to stop. He knew that. Which was why he had pulled away from her when he had. Right, sorry. I just wanted it to last a little bit longer than the last time we kissed. “Don’t be sorry, I… I definitely wanted it to last longer too, I just… If we don’t stop now, I don’t think I’m going to be able to,” he spoke quietly, letting his hands softly rub against her waist. Keeping his brown eyes on her, for a little while longer, he cleared his throat a little when the food arrived and was placed on the table in front of them. Come on, let’s eat. We still have that walk you promised me we’d go on after this and I’m pretty sure it’s beautiful out. Smiling softly, Josh nodded as he walked over and sat back down, staring at the food both of them had ordered. “God, it looks really good,” he spoke, his stomach growled loudly as he hadn’t really had much to eat that day.
“I know.” she nodded softly and really, Angel was on the same page as Josh, so she completely understood what he meant when he said that they had to stop. She planted another kiss against his cheek before stepping away and making her way back over to the table, picking up her fork. For once, they weren’t spending time in the cave or when a bunch of assassins were trying to destroy the city. It was like Josh said he’d wanted - for this to be normal and it really was. In fact, the blonde barely even remembered that she had powers and that he had them too or that they wore masks to protect innocent people whenever they had to. None of that was on her mind, just being on a date with her husband again after all of these months and getting to see him smile - even dance with him, which was just an added bonus. “Yeah? Let’s see how it tastes then.” Angel started to smile playfully and used her fork to steal some food off of Josh’s plate - like she sometimes did back in New York. Not because she necessarily wanted to eat his food, it was mostly just to mock him and see his reaction. “It tastes even better than it looks. Better hurry before I eat it all and you have to miss out on all of this great food.”
jthcmpson:
“Of course you can.” Looking at Angel, Josh furrowed his eyebrows a little. “Of course you can do it. You have an amazing voice, that the whole world needs to hear,” he said and bit his bottom lip softly, before letting his gaze drop to their hands. I mean, sing in front of you, sure, but not – I just… No. Josh lifted his gaze and looked at Angel, feeling his chest tighten as he wished she could have seen how talented she was. That she could have seen how he saw her. A soft smile appeared on his lips as their lips moved against one another and his hands lowered to her waist while hers rested on top of his chest. I think it’s coming back to me now. Very slowly. Pulling back, he rested his forehead against hers as he whispered, “a– are you sure about that?“ he whispered and chuckled softly. “Okay, we– we should probably stop that before– before the waitress comes in and catches us as I don’t want to be thrown out of here for indecent behavior,” he said and chuckled softly as he kissed her on the lips again.
Angel didn’t even realize that they were getting lost in the moment and she didn’t know about him, but she herself was forgetting about everything else. It was always like that with Josh though - everything else naturally melted away and didn’t exist. It wasn’t until she heard him commenting on them having to stop that she actually slowed down and reluctantly pulled away from his warm lips. “Right, sorry. I just wanted it to last a little bit longer than the last time we kissed.” she knew that last time, Josh hadn’t been ready and they’d argued over what had happened because he said that she couldn’t kiss him. And it was so different now because she hadn’t been the one to make the first move this time - it was him. It felt so surreal, which was why Angel didn’t want to stop kissing him, but she knew he was right. She let her hands drop back down and that was exactly when their food arrived and was placed onto the table. “Come on, let’s eat. We still have that walk you promised me we’d go on after this and I’m pretty sure it’s beautiful out.”
jthcmpson:
“You never did anything with it? Why not?” Josh kept his eyes locked with Angel’s, questioning why she hadn’t finished the song she had started. “You have an amazing voice, Angel, you… You should have done something with it. Actually, you still can,” he said and looked at her, feeling his chest tighten a little bit. He knew that she had stage fright, though, of course, but god did he wish that he could do something to help her get over it. Yeah? I’m kind of fuzzy about that myself, actually. What happened afterwards again? Can you remind me? The grin on his lips widened and he nodded as he leaned down and pressed his lips against hers, his hands moving from her waist and up onto her face before they dropped back down to her waist, pulling her as close to him as humanly possible.
“What? Are you crazy? I can’t. You know I can’t.” she’d probably only ever sing for him, but everyone else was a no go. It just terrified the living hell out of her to sing for a group of people and it didn’t scare her as much if she sang for just one person. “I mean, sing in front of you, sure, but not-- I just... No.” the blonde didn’t even want to think about that, it would probably make her pass out or storm right off if she ever did make an attempt. Hiding was easier than having so many people pay attention to what you were doing. What came next was something she didn’t expect though. Actually, Angel wasn’t sure what she was expecting, but it definitely wasn’t this. Did that mean she’d complain? No, never. This was Josh, the only man she wanted to kiss and be close to, every other man out there didn’t matter.
A small moan slipped into the kiss when she felt his lips colliding with hers, which was soon followed by that smile she only wore whenever Josh was around. Her arms lowered from his neck and she laid her hands against his chest while keeping her body pressed against his. “I think it’s coming back to me now. Very slowly.”
jthcmpson:
Josh looked at Angel as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling the two of them closer to one another. His eyes widened when he looked at her, as she laughed at what he had said from when the two of them had been together back in New York. Yeah, I definitely remember. I think that’s the only time I ever sang in front of anyone. “It was pretty amazing,” Josh spoke and sighed softly as he remembered every little thing that had done together. “I remember you singing. I don’t remember the song, though,” Josh said and chuckled softly as the two of them began to move around the room, slowly. “I do remember what happened afterwards, though,” he said and smirked mischiviously as he remembered how the night had ended. And how happy he had felt. The feeling he was feeling right now, was pretty damn close to it, actually.
“Just some song I was trying to write at the time. I never actually did anything with it, so you were the only one who got to hear that.” she was pretty sure that she’d want to have pursued a music career if she wasn’t a fashion designer, but Angel didn’t know how to beat her stage fright that had been there for so long. She’d seen posters around the city plenty of times - for karaoke and even open mic nights, which got her heart pumping every single time, but she was too much of a wuss to get up on any stage. Hiding behind the fabric of clothes and making sketches was just a lot easier and it kept her out of the spotlight - it was nowhere near as scary as singing in front of a crowd was. But the blonde was pulled away from those thoughts when she saw that look on Josh’s face the second he continued commenting on their wedding night - also something she could never forget about. Though she couldn’t not tease him about some things since she’d have way too much fun with it and this was one of those things that she felt compelled to joke about. A feigned expression of confusion soon blossomed onto her face, looking at him with flustered eyes as she tilted her head a little. “Yeah? I’m kind of fuzzy about that myself, actually. What happened afterwards again? Can you remind me?”
jthcmpson:
“You definitely shouldn’t,” Josh spoke, shaking his head in the process. kind of like right now? “Yeah, kind of like now,” he said and nodded, smiling softly at the blonde as the two of them sat in front of each other, the soft music in the background played quietly, not too loud which made it actually possible to talk to each other. Come on. Dance with me. “You… You want to dance? Here? In the middle of the restaurant?” he said and looked at her as he got up from behind the table, looking at Angel as they held hands. Looking around, they were thankfully mostly on their own so it wouldn’t make things as awkward.
“Alright, but you remember what a bad a dancer I am, so please, no making fun of me, alright?” he said and chuckled softly as he placed his hands on her waist, pulling her body as close to him as humanly possible. Looking at her, the smile on the male’s lips widened. “You know, I haven’t danced like this since our wedding. No, actually, that’s a lie. The last time we danced, was when we got back from our honeymoon, remember? In the kitchen?” he said and chuckled softly.
“Why not? You even got us the back of the restaurant, don’t wuss out on me now.” the blonde teased playfully, but felt glad when he got up and moved his hands around her waist. In return, her own arms lifted, with her hands coming together behind Josh’s neck. Never once had she thought of him as a bad dancer though and she very much disagreed with what he was saying, so Angel wouldn’t make fun of Josh for anything. She had to admit that she was enjoying them sharing all of these memories of their life together back in New York because it showed that even though that time was over, it was still important to both of them. A soft laugh passed through her lips while nodding her head in response, her blue eyes still locked with his hazel ones. “Yeah, I definitely remember. I think that’s the only time I ever sang in front of anyone.”

“You think I’m not willing to sacrifice myself for you? I’d do that in a heartbeat if I had to. It’s what I’m trying to do now, but you won’t let me. You don’t want to let me leave and for the life of me, I can’t understand why because all I’ll do is destroy the team you’ve worked so hard to build. It’s not that I want to leave, I don’t. I just don’t want to drag you down with me any further. I’d rather just take myself out than watch team Arrow crumble.”
“Because I need you here. On the team. There wouldn’t be a Team Arrow if it weren’t for you. This cause, this whole team, my entire mission would have disbanded if you didn’t save my life that day.”
“Just… give me some time to train my powers more, okay? I’ll try to see if I get any visions about those two and how we can stop them from becoming this all powerful force because if that happens, even more people will die and then what’s gonna happen to our city and everyone in it? I have these powers that can prevent catastrophe and you can be damn sure that I’ll get to that point. I don’t care how hard I have to train my mind in order to get there. These powers were given to me for a reason, not just to look at horrifying images and not do anything with them. You have my word, Alex. Do you trust me?”
“I wouldn’t be fighting this hard to make you stay put.”
“Thank you. For fighting for me.”
“I fight for those who I believe in. It’s an annoying habit of mine that I happened to pick up serving for almost ten years. Best get used to it, Destiny.”

jthcmpson:
“I want you there.” Josh swallowed against the lump in his throat and looked at Angel, hoping that she would believe him when he said that. “Besides, me going there was my own choice. I can make my own choices. So can everyone else, Angel. What happened to them, isn’t your fault. They… They did what they did out of their free will.” Josh gave her a gentle smile, nodding his head and shrugging his shoulders casually. that doesn’t make you a traitor, it makes you a victim of your own parents’ lies. He took a long and deep breath of air, and he looked at Angel, before letting his gaze drop to the ground for a second. It’s gonna be okay, I promise you. Smiling at her, Josh nodded at the words coming from Angel’s lips and honestly, he felt a little more like he would be able to do this, as long as she stayed by his side, then he could take on the whole world. Do you remember when we used to get junk food and eat it on the hood of your car? Josh chuckled and nodded as he remembered the times she had mentioned. “Yeah, of course I remember. It was my favorite time of the day. I remember always looking forward to it, because when we did it, we could just forget about everything else and just be the two of us.”
“Yeah, I was just... beating myself up over it. I know I shouldn’t do that.” she’d always been the kind of person who did that, but it got worse after she’d left Josh because that was the best thing she had going for herself and she’d messed it all up. But being here with him like this made her feel less bad, like those things that had happened weren’t all on her and she shouldn’t feel as bad as she did. Having Josh back in her life was like winning the lottery all of a sudden and Angel didn’t want to do anything to screw that up. The music that was playing in the background soon reached her ears, which she hadn’t realized had been there all along until now. “Kind of like right now?” the blonde’s gaze lifted and she smiled softly while staring across the ceiling as the soft melody of the song that was playing filled the room that they were in. It only took another moment for her to get up from where she was sitting and gently take Josh’s hand. “Come on. Dance with me.”
jthcmpson:
“You… You almost left the team? No. You shouldn’t do that, Angel, you’re… As much as you might not believe it, you are apart of it, whether you want to or not.” Alex talked me out of it somehow. A soft sigh of relief left his lips when she said that Alex had talked her out of it. If she had left, honestly, he wasn’t so sure if there was any point of him being there. She was one of the reasons why Josh was trying to make sense of everything happening to him. Just one more question and then we can totally forget about everything that’s going on outside of this restaurant, I promise. Josh swallowed and nodded at what Angel asked, Did you talk to Alex about your parents being with the league yet?
Josh swallowed against the lump in his throat and he shook his head, as he hadn’t spoken to him about that yet. “No, I haven’t,” he said and he shook his head in disbelief at what she had asked. “I don’t really know what to tell him, or how to tell him about that. I mean, what if he thinks that I’m a traitor or something? You know? I– I mean, wouldn’t you think that if you found out that someone’s parents were working with the league?” Josh questioned softly and looked at her questionably, while trying to figure out what to do next.
“I just need to figure out what to tell him, and how.”
“I just didn’t know how to be on the team while I have all of these deaths on me. I could’ve had yours on me too when I took you there. Besides, I didn’t think anyone would want me there anymore anyway. Not after that.” she still had nightmares about that night and now she wondered if Josh was having them too because it wasn’t exactly normal to witness someone get murdered right in front of you. But what he said next prompted her blue eyes to go wide and she instantly shook her head because she didn’t agree with the words that left him. “What? No. I wouldn’t think that about you, especially not if I knew that you were unaware of what your parents were a part of your entire life. That’s not your fault. You didn’t know that any of this was happening, so that doesn’t make you a traitor, it makes you a victim of your own parents’ lies.” Angel didn’t want to talk badly about Josh’s mom and dad, but she was angry with them for lying to their own son about something so crucial. Forget them trying to kill her, she could deal with that a lot better than them letting Josh think that he’d grown up in a normal family when his parents had been trained assassins for god knows how long. “It’s gonna be okay, I promise you.” the blonde didn’t think that Alex would cast Josh away if he simply told him the truth. He hadn’t gotten angry when Josh told him the truth about what had happened with the mayor and the runaway now, had he? And that was probably what was most important to their leader - honesty. Once the waitress came back to take their orders, Angel put hers in and handed the menu back. “Do you remember when we used to get junk food and eat it on the hood of your car? We’d park it somewhere nice and just talk until the sun came up.”
