Looking for the best fishing boots? We have you covered. We review the best fishing boots on the market so your feet can remain dry while fishing.
The right footwear is extremely important when going fishing, so I figured I would go into detail about why, and what to buy.
First, there are several different boots for several different styles of fishing. There are wading boots, which in itself has several different meanings (wading streams in the mountains, or wading the shallows in Florida?). There are boots to wear that give extra traction on a boat, which is more important that it seems. There are also boots for walking through mud to get to the honey hole. With such a variety out there, how do you know what is best for your style of fishing?
Well, it is quite simple. If you plan on going through mud, you obviously want knee-high boots made completely of rubber. This also means you do not need to purchase a ridiculously expensive pair, just grab some from Walmart. At the rate they will get banged up, it is probably the best option. On the boat, it usually depends on the weather or the seas. My favorite choice is Xtratuf, who makes a variety in sizes. If it is rough, higher boots are better. If it is calm or hot out, the ankle or shin-high boots will do just fine. When it comes to cold-water fishing, whether it be in the mountains or salmon fishing in Alaska, there are some great brands out there. Kamik is a brand I trust. With an optional snow collar, nothing is coming in the boot, and no heat will be leaving.
Above is a link to some great brands that are available for purchase. I hope you find the right one for your style in time for the next fishing trip.
Tight lines!
