I've been thinking about Deltarune a lot (and there is a LOT to think about) but. Like. Does Light World food technically count as an object? And if so, in what way?
This kinda feels like a stupid question but I don't think there's ever been a food based Darkner (that I remember) in any of the chapters
Recently I was thinking of Susie and Kris just bringing down tubs of ice cream for them and Ralsei if they ever got the chance to just hang out cause,,, friendship <3, but then. like. Would the individual tubs of ice cream turn into individual Lightners? Definitely can't eat them now if they were alive, or atleast you probably shouldn't if you're renowned as the heros of the prophecy, and it'd be even weirder to go back into the Light World to eat the ice cream if you literally just saw them alive like 10 minutes prior. You could not PAY ME to eat a tub of ice cream after it came alive that would would make me not want to eat ice cream for the rest of my life holy fuck
And, like, what if the food is a bunch of components mixed together??? What happens if you bring a big salad into the Dark World. What then?? Would it be one Lightner or multiple, cause every ingredient is technically its own object in a way??? Would the salad bowl be separate from the salad itself and form 2 lightners???
If Light World food can't be brought into the Dark World without turning into Darkners that also makes the problem of dark world food not being real, fulfilling food even worse than before since they can't even bring things to eat if they have to be there for a longer amount of time than usual
Would it turn into Dark World food??? We know that pretty much everything changes in the Dark World, so in what ways does the food get altered to be Dark World food instead of Light World food (besides the fulfillment of the meal)??? Is it like an upgraded version??? Butterscotch candy becomes actual Dark World butterscotch, but with no nutritional value???
I've been thinking about this for waaaayy too long, I hope we get something that would give more context to this in the next chapters lol
kris seeing through their hand in the shadow crystal. all the "severed hand"/"guy who wakes up without a hand" references in the new chapters. berdly having his entire arm paralyzed in the hospital if you didn't spare him in chapter 2. toby fox talking about his chronic wrist pain often preventing him from coding and playing. learning to navigate his disability and how working in a team makes developing games possible for him, even if they don't perfectly represent his vision. the piano as THEE representation of kris' freedom and individuality outside of their role as The Cage. the option to tell susie that Kris will keep playing if she learns to play piano too...
if kris loses their hand and deltarune ends with a 3-hand concert where susie plays alongside them i am going to walk straight into the ocean
