Starter for @snugglesmuses In a large bedroom that clearly belonged to a young girl, decked out in more Disney princess posters and stuffed animals than anyone had any business owning, Hope Ellwood sat alone on her bed, looking down at a storybook, a Moana blanket wrapped around her tiny shoulders.
“Uuuuughhhh,” she groaned out loud, flopping herself backward onto a mountain of pillows and teddy bears. “I’m so bored.” Holding the book up where she could see, she looked at the group of children playing together splashed across the pages.
“I wish I had somebody to play with…”
The little girl stared at the book for a moment longer, then put the book down with a pouty expression and a loud sigh. Mama and Daddy were busy doing boring grown-up stuff at the kitchen table, a pile of papers spread in front of them, and all of her school friends had gone away for summer vacation.
Normally, Hope didn’t mind playing alone, but she could only have so many tea parties and go on so many adventures by herself before it got boring. She was about to go ask the grown-ups again if they could play for just a little while, when suddenly a figure out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. She got up to get a better look, and an expression of surprise and excitement crossed her freckled face.
“Wowie, who are you?” she asked brightly.
Gustavo found himself in a pitch-black tight space, with little room around him. He had no memory of how he ended up here. All he could remember was something touching his forehead, and a flash of white.
“Oh hell … am I dead or something?” He muttered to himself in the dark. He slowl mey reached up to touch the spot where he was touched, only to find a large, rough protrusion taking up a fair portion of his forehead. The discovery made him step back in shock, only for him to feel something press into his back. Turning around, he was greeted with a sliver of vertical yellow light.
Realising there was a door in front of him, he cautiously reached in front of him, turning the knob and pushing forth. It must have been a small door, because his head made contact with the frame above as he walked through. Met with a mild dose of pain, he shook his head for a moment before focusing on the room in front of him
He was immediately disgusted. Greeting him was a moderately sized room of light pink, littered with enough girly toys and colorful decorations to make a unicorn vomit. For some reason, the sight of the room made him uncomfortable, but he couldn’t think of why. His attention first turned to a full wall-length mirror to his left, littered with stickers of kittens and unrecognisable characters. What he saw starting back made the blood rush from his face. In place of what was once a rugged and good looking, impeccably dressed man was a large hulking creature, tall enough that the thick, static fur on top of his head brushed the ceiling. And the fur was pink. Hot pink, and vivid enough to make the color on the wall jealous. He was covered head to toe in it. The large protrusion turned out to be a large glittering horn, adorned with a silky, lime green ribbon at the base. Large fangs stuck out haphazardly from his mouth. They reminded him of the hicks that moved into the old neighborhood.
“You’ve gotta be fu-” he was cut off by the squeek of a very small girl he hadn’t noticed in the room when he first entered. He turned to see her staring up at him with what seemed to him a mix of curiosity and barely contained excitement. It took a moment for the girls question to register in his head.
“Who am I? Who the hell are you? And why do I look like an overstuffed carnival prize?” He demanded of the tiny child.
The creature's questions fell on deaf ears, as Hope was too busy gawking wide-eyed and open-mouthed at his pink mass, looking as though every dream she'd ever had was suddenly coming true before her very eyes.
With an excited squeal, she leapt off her bed and tackled the creature in a vice-like hug, sinking deeply into his fur.
"You're so cute!" she shrieked, climbing the creature until they were face to face. She grabbed his cheeks between her chubby little hands. "What's your name? I'm Hope! We're gonna be bestest friends forever!"
The girl continued to squash his face about, as if studying it while she rambled continuously about seemingly every thought that crossed her mind, repeating again and again how they'd be the best of friends forever and ever and ever.
"Let's go ask Mama and Daddy if we can get bunk beds!"
