The only opposition to zipper merging is toddler-tantrum tier "but you're cutting in line" which isn't even a real complaint.
Getting mad that someone is ahead of you in highway traffic is insane.

Look, if you need glasses but you don't want glasses, you gotta know that choosing the smallest possible frames+lenses is actually more noticeable than simply getting some frames that suit your face.
Listened to an audiobook about sundown towns earlier this week, and the author got stuck on the idea of refusing to sell gas to black people passing through. He called it irrational to refuse fuel to someone that you don't want in your town, because if they don't have enough fuel they might not be able to leave.
On the surface, yeah, that is irrational. But if you put yourself into the mindset of a hateful person, someone so hateful they'd threaten to kill someone for existing, then it is not irrational at all. It's deliberate and malicious and evil, but not irrational.
The intent behind not selling fuel, especially if it's a sundown county and not just one town, is that they won't be able to leave. If they can't leave, then they brought whatever happens down on themselves for being where they weren't wanted. The racist jackasses want an excuse to kill someone and call it justified.
i hope everyone who follows hunter biden's twitter dies
no one actually cares about epstein's clients or victims, it's all just performative. as long as the dude is mildly charismatic, people will let him get away with pedophilia and rape
It's like nobody cares at all about the child porn on Hunter's laptop
Not to mention the incest with his underage niece
Seeing people frame him as some relatable Every Man and not a wealthy, well connected, and extremely privileged criminal has been insane.
something i've noticed that has become really annoying in the past 10 years or so is this fad of what i've been calling, for lack of a better word, "structural whataboutism." it's that thing where, when faced with a concrete, resolvable problem in your community, your answer is to blame it on a vast, unsolvable issue of structural inequality and then throw up your hands. "there's trash all over the ground in this corner of the park" becomes "well, that's where MEN OF COLOR congregate after their 12-HOUR GRAVEYARD SHIFTS and i'm not going to support a CARCERAL SOLUTION to a CAPITALISTIC PROBLEM. WE NEED TO ELIMINATE POVERTY AND THE SUBJUGATION OF THE WORKING CLASS" and it's like okay but sis. someone still has to go pick up the trash. we don't need a carceral solution, we need more trash cans. you're not going to eliminate poverty and the subjugation of the working class and even if ya did, there would still be trash on the ground. how any of this passes for radicalism within their peer groups i simply don't understand. it's radical laziness more than anything else
I was on a canoe trip once with a river biologist who worked for the county. After we found and removed a car tire, she started talking about the annual river cleanup her department organized. From a water quality or ecological standpoint, removing shopping carts, car tires, and other macro trash from the river really wasn't that important, she said. The real threat to the river was industrial and agricultural runoff.
"But!" she said:
People who see a clean, trash-free river are more likely support laws to curb more harmful "systemic" forms of pollution. People who participate in river cleanups take pride in their work--their river!--and become evangelists for protecting it.
Immediate action leads to systemic awareness, which leads to systemic change.
If you have been routinely excluded for most of your life, then you eventually learn how to spot all the signs that it’s happening in real time.
It’s also extremely difficult to explain to people who don’t have that experience how you can tell that it’s happening.
Our axle supplier just went on strike. Word is we have about 2 weeks of parts available before we run out.
Last time they walked out it lasted 3 months.
╭( ๐ _๐)╮
There's anxious tension at work now as we wait for our parts supply to run out. If we run as usual, which we have been, we'll run out sometime next week and then it's funemployment time until the supplier strike is settled.

The algorithm decided to suggest a bunch of "I hate my wife" jokes to me today. "My wife loves spontaneity and surprises, as long as she knows the exact details 2 weeks ahead of time 😂😂😂"
Whatcha wanna bet guys who think like this are also the kind of guys who buy cruise tickets when they can't even pack their own travel bag.
Dude, she would like you to cook dinner or do laundry once in a while, not come home with half baked vacation plans where she suddenly has to do a ton of logistical work you never think about.
"why do they keep using chucklefuck's mugshot on everything" then I remembered the second term official portrait is him trying to recreate his mugshot for some reason.
No one knows oppression more than a fetishist being told to keep their shit in a private space.
"Trump is working for free and actually losing money as president"
Holy fucking shit, I didn't think any of these brain dead losers were still using that line.
He accused me of having TDS.

The more I see people talk [complain] about dating and relationships, the more that shit really does seem like everyone is treating it all like a job interview and employment. And if you're doing that shit then of course you're having a shitty time.
Go make some fucking friends. Like, actual real friendships. Not 'maybe if I'm friendly enough we can date', just find people you enjoy hanging out with and hang out with them on a regular basis.
At some point you'll find a friend who would like to date you and marry you and live happily ever after with you. Might be a friend you make, might be a friend of a friend, might be someone who saw your friend group and loved your vibe and immediately clicked. The big ol' bonus: being friends means your relationship is built on mutual enjoyment and not a fuckin job recruiting scheme.
The majority of the internet is so irritating.
There are honestly so many things to complain about, but right now it's this: The recipe blog method has taken over how-to articles. I don't need a full product history and set up instructions before you tell me how to do the thing I asked for help with. Shut the fuck up and tell me how to do the part I need help with.
But the how-to articles don't have the nice little 'jump to recipe' button. No, just scroll and skim until you think you found the part you need.
And that's assuming the how-to actually contains the part you need. A lot of these articles actually don't address your problem at all, but because search engines are useless, this was served up as if it was helpful.
Oh yeah, local union pres got voted out hard enough she can't challenge it. She's still being a bitch about it tho by making accusations that retirees were bribed and coerced on who to vote for.
Her last union meeting as pres is in a couple weeks, I wonder if she'll turn it into a shitshow.
Forgor to update:
She skipped her last meeting as union pres. Posted photos sitting by her pool with some snarky caption during the meeting time is what I heard.
She also filed an appeal about the election to be a bitch. Our financial secretary is going to keep a running tab of what her continued bullshit is costing the local. AND she purposely failed to send in our local's constitutional resolutions in a timely manner so none of our resolution suggestions will be presented at the constitutional convention in a few weeks. She was supposed to send them after our April meeting but sat on them for over two weeks until the day after the deadline.
idk what other bullshit she intends to pull after she's back to working in the factory again. I hope she's actually done after her farewell 'fuck you' stunts.
Economists should be required to learn labor history.
It should be a full course in their degree program, not just an easy to blow off tidbit too.
