“Sonic, do you know your name?” He asked the tiny animal which only scurried out of his hand and across to the middle of the table once he’d put him down. “Doesn’t even doing anything,” he grumbled under his breath while he leaned back, crossing his feet as his ankles and stretching his arms over his head. “Nope! Haven’t even started. Don’t even know what the assignment is on,” he grinned and let out a loud sigh. “You and Nico, I keep telling you two that we’re endgame. Can’t mess that up in high school, so I have to bide my time until she realizes that her prince charming’s been in front of her the whole time.” He grinned at him again before he rested his forearms on the table once more. “What about you dude? Haven’t seen you with a chick yet at all.”
“His job is to be adorable and he does it very well,” Angus pointed out before looking over at his friend, who was very proud of not having done any work yet. “History. Ancient. Greek. We talked about it half an hour ago,” he said, flapping his arm in the direction of the clock. He would have been laughing at Ryan’s incessant talk about him and Kenna. Really. it was amusing, but he was preoccupied with the mention of Nico’s name. Angus’ jaw clenched and his nostrils flared. Angus considered himself a decent guy, but he was stubborn and that matched with his disdain for anyone ever laying a hand on a girl meant that he hadn’t spoken to Nico since that GQ blast spree. He had even requested a room change, ending up with two juniors: Max and Miles.
He shifted his seat a little before standing up and walking over to the fridge. He grabbed two bottles of water and went back to the table. He shrugged at Ryan’s mention of Angus’ love life, or lack thereof, as he slid a bottle across the table. “I dunno.... I mean I took Rhodes to a couple of dances but...” he trailed off, shrugging once more. He was friends with Rhodes and they’d kissed a couple of times, but there wasn’t anything there beyond that. “Um..I don’t really like anyone like that.” He offered finally.
