this manga means a lot to me, it’s ability to capture Sei’s fear but loyalty to his mother. the emotions in his eyes and the gut wrenching fear of realizing your parental figure is dangerous and doesn’t truly care about you. im so grateful for male csa victim representation, and it’s one of my favorite pieces of media I’ve read. plz heed the trigger warnings tho it’s bad lol

art I’ve made relating to Dakota and the dark room. Specifically the moments after David would’ve rescued us. since in canon im already dead in my memories im just unconscious so i dont really have a lot about it. except the feeling of being able to close my eyes on my own terms. if that makes sense.

I also tried to write out how my source memories differ from the game which ended up being like. Quite a bit but since Nathan is barely involved in Max’s power stuff it mostly stays basically the same mess for me.

would you ever shave your facial hair/neck beard to look more like source/for jocelyn? or is there no dysphoria/issue? Gen!

we actually fully shaved our face and body for a date out Jocelyn and Shepard planned. Dakota helped me, it took a whole hour lol. sometimes I’ll shave my beard to look more like myself but most of the time I like the advantage of being able to pass more often.

Jocelyn is pretty dysphoric about our body especially because of the testosterone, but knowing we’re willing to shave for her and giving her nice clothes evens it out for her.

feel more than free to not answer this if it’s too intrusive, but do you think you ARE your source? i know a lot of people say introjects aren’t their source but the way you talk about the character and how you talk about your own memories seem like one in the same

I know that I’m not my source^^ but it still affects me daily in ways our real trauma does. how a fictive feels about their source or if they want to be considered it varies from system to system, I’m able to differentiate between the character and myself, I just still feel connected to my source.

I talk about and express about it like I do because as an alter these are the memories I have. I don’t have access to our trauma memories, but my brain and body need something to connect to the symptoms. My therapist says it’s just dissociation. I’m trying to make new memories IRL, and I have been for around a year, but my history as an alter stays as my source, like my past or past life. it blends with our life when I was first forming, and I have a pretty non canon compliant set of memories. So I’m aware of the differences between myself as an alter and Nathan as a character

#hope that makes sense #I try to talk in third person on here to help ppl not misunderstand #but. I am Nathan. my memories are of the school I get flashbacks of Jefferson’s abuse I remember the psychosis the drugs weighing me down.#it’s all in my head as if it happened irl. so I’m processing it as if if did even tho it didn’t #idk like I’m here 😵‍💫 existing I guess but yeah ficitves aren’t their source but they can feel like they are #ask #sys talk
