Does Aqua Love Akane?
I already did a post on this when my old account wasn't deactivated but I think the answer is YES it a fact actually
Yes he does and if you guy wondering how or why then I am gonna show you how
Here one the first piece of evidence he does love Akane his happy moments in season 2 now you say 'Oh most of them are with Kana' but you can't deny some of Aqua's happy moments have moments with Akane in there showing that Aqua has times with Akane that he enjoyed.
Like Example one of these happy moments HIM WAS SAVING AKANE REPUTATION and HIS FIRST DATE WITH HER AT THE END OF SEASON 1
Not only that but when he went on the date with Akane in season 2 again he said he actually enjoyed it .
This shows he likes spending time with Akane and that helping Akane and spending time with her makes him happy not only that but Akane was one of the few people which made Aqua flustered, 2x cause season 1 and 2.
Not only that but in Director says that he bet Akane was happy when she received that key chain from Aqua and in the Oshi No Ko Live Action they showed us Aqua giving the keychain to Akane
And yes , she was very happy but shows that not only that Akane was happy getting it but Aqua was happy too and clearly liked the idea of giving it to her showing to us again that Akane makes him happy
Not only that but Aqua was comfortable with Akane for most of season 2, he was always around her in season 2 and he was either happy with her, smiling near her or because of her or being understood by her or even opening up to her.
When Akane hugged him, comforting Aqua telling him things will be okay and she sorry he had to deal with that pain alone saying this after finding out the truth about Aqua being one of Ai's kids , Aqua didn't push her away or show signs any discomfort in fact after the hug not only he wasn't uncomfortable but he even opened up to her telling her about his motivation for acting.
Aqua was the opposite of uncomfortable around Akane especially after the hug, cause after that he ended up opening about his reasons for acting to Akane and Akane responded perfectly saying that she will help him shoulder the guilt and help him with his pain even saying that she will help him kill Hikaru. In response when Akane opens up about her desire to beat Kana and Taiki in the Tokyo Blade Play , Aqua responds saying that he would help like what a good boyfriend would.
Even Goro says that Akane understands Aqua completely, saying, "Do you think you finally found someone who understands you after meeting Akane Kurokawa" showing that Akane understands Aqua the most.
And in season 2 , When Akane plans to make Kana come out of her shell for acting failed and she started crying and blaming herself it was Aqua which cheered her up and comforted her saying Kana knows herself less than she thinks and saying it isn't her fault and she shouldn't blame herself also He told Akane that He would help Akane with getting the Real Kana come out of her shell for acting. This shows Aqua supporting Akane like how Akane likes Akane supports him but Aqua comforting Akane like how Akane comforted him before.
Now, when it comes to the Aquakane hug, the shojo background sparkles appeared.

But in Aqua's pov in season 2 episode 11, the hug scene had more of that shojo background than in the original showing that Aqua's feelings for Akane grew stronger and are more defined after that hug, showing that he does have romantic feelings for her and that he does care about her. Also the fact the hug appeared in his mind when he was wondering what he was going to do with Akane since his revenge was over shows that he does want to date Akane. It's just that his guilt is holding him back.

When Aqua was speaking to Akane on the phone he said this
Aqua said "He likes Akane just as she is"
He also said that "Akane acknowledged someone like and got close to him" while remembering all the times they had together as well as saying "She gave him hope little by little" and "I've been saved even since he met you"
This conversation shows what Akane means to him and how he values her and how much she means to him as an individual. This is proof that he never saw Akane as a tool or a friend he could use and throw away, this is proof that he did in fact value her and she means the world to him.
He said that "I have been saved ever since I met you"
The director even says that Aqua wanted a normal life with Akane and that the GPS was out of kindness .
And this has the Shojo background showing this was his most valued moment with Akane and gives him warmth, support, happiness and hold great value to him and it shows it here in this moment.
