His laugh is full. “Unreliable? And you say you were a samurai?” Motochika was familar with a range of characters but a samurai with balance so easily tossed about? That was new!

“I’ve not come across a samurai afflicted with sea legs! But I can not claim to have seen it all.” He takes a step forward. “You’re alive, so you must have managed just fine, aye?”

He offers a hand again, but not to help, but to introduce. “Tell me, samurai! What should I, Chosokabe Motochika, Ogre of the West - call you?”

Masa's shoulders slump. It's not the first time he hears such things and it's quite obvious read from his countenance as is the sigh that falls after.

" I am afraid it is a mental affliction of sorts... "

Now the man before him already seems big - in personality, in particular but when he comes with his name Masa's jaw dislodges completely. This 'big' man in front of him might as well be a giant with how Masa's eyeing him now.

" C-Chosokabe Motochika?! "

The name is... although long fallen now he's heard of him. It cannot be - there's simply no way... But surely, the moniker as well?! Masa's eyes instinctively now point to his feet.

" I am A-akitsu Masanosuke... I am..-- you are...you cannot possibly ...?! "

Pride swells in his chest and the pirate beams at the echo of his name. “Ah! So you’ve heard of me, have you?” Perhaps Akitsu’s era and his own were one and the same. He finds himself hopeful. Who and what else did Akitsu know?

“Tell me, Akitsu Masanosuke - which of my feats have proceeded me? My great ship? Inventions? Shikoku?”

“... Aye, there is truth to that.” He draws a heavy sigh, dropping his offered hand to place it instead on his hip. “I could say much the same. I fell upon this place and have felt like a fish out of water the whole time. And even still, a pirate where I’m from - here I am without employ… ” From taking in the surroundings once more, he turns back to the man before him, still upon the ground, he notices.

“Do you plan to sleep there?” He jokes.

" Ah, me as well... It seems samurais are no part of the landscape of this place either. "

Masa cannot imagine working as anything else however, when it's almost a piece of what makes him whole... Even if he was just a ronin. He'd imagine it's the same for this man as he'd assume being a pirate comes with a need for sea.

It is quite a career though, he must say. He's curious of the details - if a little intimidated.

All of that would however be moved for later as the man makes a good note.

" Oh...! " Masa exclaims in slight shock, and proceeds to stumble his way up onto his feet, almost falling down in his attempt.

" P-pardon me, I forget where I am... " he explains himself, " my legs are a little unreliable sometimes, embarrassingly enough... "

Ever the wandering spirit, Motochika could never seem to keep his feet planted firmly in one place for too long. This ward he’d found himself assigned to was fascinating and filled to the brim with sights he had never known. Eyes bright and heart roaring in both wonder and sorrow, he found himself lamenting. This felt… in some ways wrong to behold without his crew. Had he died out in that storm? Sometimes he struggles still with the reality of his fate. The concern must have crept onto his face as he heard the voice of someone a little closer than he had expected. He paused, watching the girl for a moment, and then to his surroundings. He wasn’t even certain if he was lost precisely. “Aye, perhaps...”

“Can you tell me, how is it that you ended up here? And for how long?”

Hikaru only sighed... she's still stuck here in this place for very long time, it was like she never aged as stuck being forever 'fourteen'. If he needed help to familiarize this place, she actually can as she is a nice person to anyone, unless pushed that is like last time.

"Eight years... Believe it or not, i've been here for a very long time in this place, i have never met my bestfriends or those i knew from my world. I've been through a lot, though." The schoolgirl in red wasn't joking as her tone was serious. She's been in this place for very long despite her being disappearing and reappearing from the void. "I have met friends as they disappear and rarely new ones." When she's in danger, she can rely on Arturia as she had helped her on her dilemmas especially that one time.

"I keep trying to stay out of violence as much as i can, but it still follows me wherever i go."

Eight years?

Eight years away from home. Eight years with no word from friends or family. Terribly unfortunate. Motochika found his worries paling in comparison to the girl's trials and tribulations. She adds that violence seems to follow her.

“I am sorry for your troubles. You’ve endured more than many could bear. Such straights could harden a man's heart, and still you offer aid.” His smile is honest, albeit a bit tired. “That’s admirable.”

“I will be honest - I believe my mood wanes because I’ve too much time to think. My mind wanders home too often. There are questions I am not ready to answer. A job to busy me, I think will do me some good.”

When was the last time Motochika, the sea devil, found himself at a loss for income? Back under a more familiar sun he was never in such straits. When he was not a general, gathering goods of worth as only a pirate may - he was an adept sailor, and a fisherman of marvelous merit if nothing else at all. If not for the warring sides, he’d find comfort in a life of his own making. But the waters here were beyond him. He felt landlocked in an uncomfortable way.

He groaned in his musings, closing his eye briefly as he bound a corner to be met with a bump. Hardly enough to so much as hinder his step. Still, he stops.

Oh. A person. “Haha - ! Aye, neither was I. No harm done.” For such a lighthearted laugh, his voice is powerful, and hearty.

He adjusts his grip on the wooden spear he keeps and removes his free hand from his pocket - offering it in assistance.

“Why the rush? Has something happened?”

" That is... no, not really... "

Despite the looks the man seems friendly. That's a relief though right now it's the kind of relief Masa isn't fully grasping as he's still baffled by the suddenness of the encounter. The question asked him stops him in his tracks.

" Happened....? " Masa repeats, pondering on the word for a while, " not quite? "

" Really, quite a lot has happened if I think about it - ... or perhaps just one big event? "

Like being kidnapped and ending up here. It's just one thing but once you start thinking about it, it becomes endless.

His smile grew wide as he delighted in the compliment to his tastes and puffed his chest in lighthearted pride. “Back in Shikoku, I am called as such - the Sea Devil! Ogre of the West!” He brings a fist to his chest and pounds the place over his heart.

“There you have it then -! it is decided! Scars make for fine memories, but ink makes for a far less dangerous story.”

He gives a thoughtful frown before looking back at his company through his bangs, pushing them somewhat out of his eyes.

“I guess it does… yeah.”

At least he feels fairly settled on a choice now. Now all he has to do is consider what he wants more specifically rather than just jumping in blindly. Maybe he should get to designing some ideas of his own again soon.

“So…” He nods his head toward the other man, “What’s stopping you from getting one now? A tattoo, I mean.”

“On the land I tread, tattoos are set upon the skin of criminals, but I’m not a man fit to cast judgments. Few of my own men sport ink of past wrongs, and I would trust them with my life still.” He shifts his weight, allowing his gaze to wander. “Indeed, what would a pirate have to care of such things - even so it is a heavy choice. And one that…within the throes of war, I’ve no time at all to make.”

His brows furrow at the thought. Again his mind wanders to the state of things in his absence. “Such work, seen as art rather than a brand, is audacious. Yet a view I welcome!”

“What is your name?"

His stomach is loud. He ought to be searching for a job but when he went and asked... They laughed and asked if he was on his way to convention. Masa wasn't sure what they had meant... He'd at least figured out his location - 'Cotes Fantasci'.

The beast of a vehicle they called train made him nervous. He hadn't yet dared to enter - it went so fast, he might hurt himself with how clumsy he was. He'd only dared as far as the station, stopping by where a heavy waft of a pan took over him. He'd yet to have any food -- without currency of this place it seemed impossible. What were he to do if he caught the Edo disease again?

Flat, funoyaki like food was made there - only he saw no sweet misopaste and they also rolled them differently as well. He's drooling a little as he looks over - at least until a question snaps him back to the moment.

" Sir, do you want to buy some? "

Masa blinks.

" Ah no ...! I do not .. I must be going now, I apologize...! "

He turns to make his leave - there he bumps into something sturdy. As he looks upon the stranger, he gets quite the scare - so much so of one that he stumbled backwards, ending up butt first on the ground.

" M-my apologies.... ! I was not looking... "

Motochika’s boyish smirk grew as he’d fold his arms and shift his weight slightly. He listened and hummed his reply. “It sounds to me that you are closer to a decision than not.”

Motochika himself harbored no tattoos, no piercings - he could speak on no such experiences, but his body did carry scars. His own sort of permanent reminders of battles survived. Would it be enough to relate? “Do you speak of healing, which took forever? Would you claim the wait to be worth it? Surely so if you humor another.”

“I cannot speak on the art you choose. Simply that it ought to hold meaning. The weight of that meaning is up to you.” He paused for a moment, considering what, if he were given the choice, to embellish his body with. Suddenly, he is beaming.

“Heh! For instance, I would choose an ogre! Fierce in face! To my chest, so that I may never lose it!”

“Your idea sounds badass.”

At least in his opinion. He wouldn’t choose it as a tattoo for himself, he thinks, but seeing it on someone else would be cool.

“The healing and the time to actually get it done takes a while if it’s something huge, so, I mean? Yeah?”

But still:

“I’d still do it again, I don’t care if it takes forever, I think just having something more permanent as a part of myself is meaningful. It’s one of the few things that is actually permanent.”

He wasn’t some appraiser searching for imperfections, but likewise understood the saying of all things that glitter. He catches the sound of a voice and passes a single glance and inquiry. “Still, say you? You are savvy to such things?” He had been in this world for such a short time, and already he’s witnessed far more of the foreign than the familiar.

"Their just covered in fake gold to look nice. Show off your money and stuff like that. Tacky as hell."

so says the man who has golden covered shades on his face, his eyes hidden when his powers weren't active at all.

"Taste like shit too. Don't bother getting them if you want your money worth. Less you have cheap people to impress."

The pirate pauses before righting his posture and folding his arms. “What show is it of money if the gold is fake?” The furrow of his brow was one more of thought than any sort of annoyance. “Although surely, there can be no harm in some mere flourishing. Embellishments for embellishments sake!” He hummed through a short, light laugh.

“A shame, though, you say they are foul to the taste.”

Back home, Motochika held a certain wealth, but here, he was without means. He was no general here, and held none of the influence that comes with it. Even his proper weapon was stripped from him. “Of all the faces I’ve seen in this place, not a one is familiar. So I seek to flatter no one. Aside from finding new little oddities as this, I am aimless here.“

“Did you wake here much the same? Or are you of this place? ”

Living a life free from stress even temporarily at Fibonacci, now living at Archimedes it was a good day for Hikaru after banished from the void. Of course, she won't be too overconfident as it was an insidious foe. What was Hikaru doing before all this? Browsing internet on her phone about cute dogs.

Wandering around Archimedes, she met a handsome pirate based on outfit alone. Wondering if he's either lost or heading specifically.

"May i help you?" It was merely a simple question but doesn't know if help needed or no.

He’s staring at his outstretched arm, the one that’s already tattooed, mouth set in a thoughtful frown before he speaks up in a mutter.

“What if I got another tattoo? Or, I don’t know. A piercing. Ugh, but some types of jewelry could get snagged on stuff when I’m camping or doing expedition type stuff or foraging… probably not worth the hassle? And those and tattoos both take a while to heal so how the fuck will I camp out in the Mistwood like that?”

…He’s pretty obviously just talking to himself.

“What if?” He repeats, more urging an answer from the other than simple echoing. “Nearly all things worth doing in the world I know takes time. The length to heal should not deter you if you are not adrift in something urgent.” He passed the stranger no glance to accompany his words but smiled briefly. “But that is simply a pirate’s thoughts on the matter.”

He stares a little longer at his outstretched arm before letting it drop with a shrug and a frown, still not entirely sure about what he wants to do exactly but definitely considering the idea.

“Yeah? First tattoo I got took what felt like forever.” He muses, running his fingers over the patterns on his arm. “…I’d still pick that over more piercings.” Something a lot more permanent, essentially, that would leave a more clear and lasting mark but without getting in his way.

Despite his usual standoffish demeanor, his mood’s also at least not that bad today so he seems at least a little willing to humor a conversation since it is about things that interest him.

Though he does scrunch up his face and slump his shoulders heavily as he cards his fingers through his hair in frustration.

“Not that I know of what I want it to be.”

Motochika wasn’t here for the previous event, but his past self may still rear it’s head.

He was blinded once, by a despair and dread so great it could turn him against everyone he once held dear. He was gullible, angry, and merciless. He’d turn his weapon against himself if it meant anything at all. At the very moment, he finds himself among the aftermath of his slain comrades and a flag of someone he once called a friend. A moment too familiar. An all too recent memory.

While he holds no one dear to him here yet, he is still willing to offer his aid and travel to the Inn.

(it’s my interpretation his own past being will reveal itself to him once there)

He’s arrived --and what a blur it all seemed. He recalls the sturdy wood of his vessel beneath his feet. The creaking of its strain. He remembers the faces of his crew. He saw the strain, the fear, and the panic that painted them. Eyes had turned to their captain, searching for guidance. Motochika roared above the raging waves. He told them to hold fast, to close the sails - these winds were unnatural.

There was an awful sound, and his vision disappeared under a haze of water and fading noise.

The void. The roads. The machine he’d not recognize exactly as a car, and the smile of it’s driver - that all felt like a dream.

He stands now in a strange place, with a strange new device in his hand. A key and a -

Wooden Spear?? He pauses, testing the weight of the primitive weapon in his hands. Alarmingly light. “What... sort of dream is this?”
