Animalgamation #14 - Barbarin. This shaggy creature spends most of its time walking slowly through shallow rivers and plucking fish from the water with its long beak. It is uninterested in people, but it sometimes wanders into human-populated areas and becomes troublesome to shoo away. Suggested by 95056886! Also! sorry for disappearing on everyone suddenly! I had some stuff going on. My weekly art schedule should return to normal soon.

Can we do extinct animals? I don't mean dinosaurs or anything, just animals like the Dodo or the Thylacine. Also, this blog's really cool!

I might be able to make exceptions for extinct animals if there are photographs of them in the flesh, so a thylacine might be alright.

Animalgamation #13 - Seglent. This coarse-haired creature is such an agile climber that even the most skilled predators cannot catch it from its treetop habitat. People once thought captive specimens enjoyed human contact because they would climb onto their keepers' backs, but it was later discovered that they simply detest being on the ground and will scale any upright object to avoid it - even a person. Suggested by its-a-mahu!

Animalgamation #12 - Ornoll (based on flamingo / rhinoceros). Herds of these massive creatures once roamed plains and rivers, but hunting and poaching has wiped most of their population out. Their beaks are sold for use as medicine, even though there is no proof that it cures anything. Suggested by Michael on Facebook.

Animalgamation #11 - Kangleo (based on anglerfish / lion). Schools of these strange creatures drift about in the deep ocean. Their hairs are extremely sensitive and as soon as one detects a prey animal, the whole group attacks and devours it. Suggested by corncobs.

Animalgamation #10 - Saevyl (based on dog / dove). People specially bred this elegant creature to deliver mail across many miles, and as a result it became a symbol of unity and cooperation. However, it sometimes viciously attacks members of its own kind for no clear reason. Suggested by baileythecookie!

Animalgamation #9 - Odocton (based on owl / octopus). This ocean-dwelling creature is highly intelligent and has learned to steal bait from fish hooks without getting caught. In some places it is trained to fetch rare artefacts from the seabed. Suggested by Cassandra on Facebook!

Animalgamation #8 - Putrup (based on turtle / dog). These hard-shelled creatures do not seem to fear anything, but are clumsy and can rarely outrun danger. As a result, few survive to adulthood and seeing one as a baby is considered good luck in some parts of the world. Suggested by Elspeth on Facebook!

Animalgamation #7 - Ninofly (based on cat / butterfly). These rodent-sized creatures eat nectar with their long tongues, and sometimes appear in people's gardens during spring. If they make eye contact with a human, they will stare without blinking until the person looks away. Suggested by Yasmin on Facebook!

Animalgamation #6 - Molgull (based on snail / seagull). These scavengers scurry about human-populated docks and beaches, eating fishing scraps and sea creatures that have washed ashore. If their food supply disappears, they withdraw into their shells and wait for the ocean to carry them somewhere else. Suggested by Alice on Facebook!

Animalgamation #5 - red panda / owl. These tree-dwelling creatures can sometimes be heard twittering at each other after dark. Their feet are adapted for running along tree limbs, so rather than perching to rest, they drape their whole bodies across branches. Suggested by supidosan!

Animalgamation #4 - Ockhopper (based on lizard / penguin). These small, rough-scaled creatures hunt in warm water, and are sometimes deployed by sailors when an important boat route is overcrowded with jellyfish. They are clumsy out of water, but predators must be wary of their painful bite. Suggested by Angie on Facebook.

Animalgamation #3 - Galrog (based on walrus / cobra). This thick skinned creature constantly suns itself near the ocean, and often scuffles other memebers of its kind for the most comfortable patch of beach. Its brute strength and venomous tusks are incredibly dangerous at close quarters, but it is easily outrun on land. Suggested by Cole on Facebook.

Animalgamation #2 - Cuttloper (based on cuttlefish / caribou). Entire herds of this creature can be found on beaches in cold climates. If startled, they immediately head for the water and disappear under the waves until the coast is clear. Suggested by survivingcanberra!
