Help abandoned kittens in Morgantown, West Virginia!
This is just one of dozens of cats and kittens abandoned at the former LeMesa trailer park in Morgantown WV. Our rescue, Homeward Bound, is seeking to capture all of these kittens and seek vet care and fosters for them.

Momo was a stray cat wandering the streets of Germantown, MD when he was found in May after jumping into the driver's seat of my roommate's car. There Momo slept on his lap the whole ride home, and proved himself to be more of a dog than a cat. As soon as he meets anyone, he will go right up to them and begin to lick them (without realizing that his tongue is designed to strip the fur off of prey animals), knead the ground, rub his head against them and so on. Often times when picked up, he will wrap his front legs around your neck as if to give you a big hug while kissing you on the face. He is so full of love and affection and deserves everything good in the world. Unfortunately, life has a way of dealing bad cards to those who don't deserve it. Upon taking in Momo, we had him tested for FELV, and sure enough, the first test came back positive. We ran a second, more specific test, and it came back negative, leaving us with a temporary sense of relief. We waited 12 weeks before retesting, and unfortunately this time around, he showed up positive on both tests. We currently have other cats and hate to see such a wonderful animal locked up in a bedroom all day, every day, and because it is so difficult to find knowledgeable, willing homes for cats who are FELV+, we have decided that Aslan's Cats is the best place for Momo. There he can live with all of his brothers and sisters (and he loves all living creatures! Dogs and cats and people alike) on a large plot of land, free to roam inside the house or backyard as he pleases. Finding an open spot as these sanctuaries is hard to come by, and because of the enormous vet bills these rescues face every month that come with housing so many FELV+ cats, the intake fee is $1,500. We want to do all we can for Momo, and believe that this is what's best for him, but we need help in doing this. We have already spent an incredible amount of money on bloodwork, cleaning up an abscess that he had when we first got him, neutering, and vaccines, that we don't have enough left to spare for his intake fee. Momo is one of those creatures who teaches you what it means to love unconditionally. He is kinder and more affectionate than most people I know. He deserves so much better than living his life in a bedroom because of a disease he didn't ask for, and we need your help in securing a better life for him.
Hey guys, just as a reminder, I am still looking for a moderator to help me run this blog! With a full time job, living in the country with slow-as-molasses internet, raising a puppy and three other dogs, I'm simply unable to keep up with this blog like I used to, and I feel terrible for letting some of the requests I've gotten fall through the cracks. For years we have been sheltering and care for cats who come our way. We keep as many cats as we can and have been working hard to improve the cats lives. Sadly the collapse in economy in Egypt made things worse, prices are outrageous and we can no longer keep feeding our cats without support.
The cats in our care are mostly mixed-breed cats who don’t have any chance for a decent life in Egypt, a country with zero animal rights awareness and where people keep breeding pedigree persian cats while consider the mixed-breed cats and Mau cats as vulgar to keep and beastly who should be kicked out and chased and even harmed.

Hey everybody!
I’ve recently discovered a local TNR (trap, neuter, release) program for stray cats in my city. It’s the first TNR program that I have seen in our city, which is actually a huge deal. They are looking to raise $2,500 to help with the cost of transferring the cats to get them neutered/spayed. The volunteers have to drive a little over an hour away to Warren, MI with the cats.

Breed: Purebred Boxer Notes: I am fostering this beautiful and sweet girl, and I am astounded by her every day! Here is what is amazing about Flossie (it’s a long list): she gets SO EXCITED when I walk in the door and does that awesome kidney bean dance, but she never jumps up. She is incredibly smart — in less than a week she has learned to sit, stay, come, fetch and (almost) heel. We don’t know her story except that she was rescued from a farm in Upper-state Georgia. She is so full of love and affection and she gives the most gentle little kisses. If you let her (which I always do…I can’t help it), she will climb on your lap and she will be asleep and snoring within seconds. She gets along great with our dog and I would say she would be the alpha in most situations. She voluntarily sleeps in her crate with the door open, and when left out alone in the house she never chews or gets into mischief. She will give a single bark if something is worth noting, but she doesn’t bark her head off. This is a truly special dog who would do well with someone who appreciates a highly trained dog and who is willing to work to achieve that goal.
It's been a long few months without internet, but we finally have it back at the house again. I've been absent for quite some time and that's just because it became fairly difficult to keep up with the number of submissions everyday when I only had a short amount of time to steal wifi at Wegman's or McDonald's. I am incredibly sorry for anyone who has submitted anything lately that I have yet to get to - it's been a crazy few weeks and I just simply didn't have the time.
In order to make sure something like this doesn't happen again, however, I will be looking for someone to co-run this blog with me. Ideally this person would be able to spend at least an hour a day answering messages, setting up the queue, reblogging, and posting. A general knowledge of animals, especially dogs and cats, and understanding of how shelters and rescues operate is a huge bonus.
If you are at all interested in helping out, please shoot me a short message. I might end up adding two people depending on the response this gets.
This sweet love is at Frederick Animal Control in Frederick, Maryland and is looking for a new home. She is around seven to eight years old and was dumped here by her awful owner who clearly used her for nothing but breeding (also note the missing tip of her ear, probably due to frostbite from being left outside). I’m trying to find a home for her because I can’t take her so if you know anyone looking for an energetic buddy, have them contact the shelter and ask about Gogo.

okay, so i hate to do this but i don’t really have any other choice.
my dog bella
is sick, her discs in her back keep slipping and it causes her a great amount of pain.
my dad works 2 jobs, and i am in the process of getting another to help pay, but we are pressed for money right now and can’t pay for her medication. it can cost anywhere from $300 - $500 and could really use some help.
i put a donation button for paypal on my homepage and would very much appreciate any help we can get. i don’t usually do stuff lilke this, but it’s my puppy and if we can’t get the medication, we will have to put her down. :(

I recently moved from California to Texas to live with my boyfriend because I used to live with my incredibly abusive mother and he was willing to take me in. When I moved, I brought my six year old Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix), Kaiba, with me.
Unfortunately, my move drained my bank account completely dry. I’ve been looking for work for the last month, but I haven’t been hired for anything yet. Further, it turns out that the pest situation here is insanely difficult to handle; fleas are stubborn bastards and the other roommates here won’t take care of their animals. Consequently, Kaiba’s being constantly attacked by fleas and mites. I can’t afford to take him to the vet and all of the baths in the world aren’t doing much good when he’s just being put back into a flea-ridden environment.
I don’t like asking for help, but I’m desperate. My dog’s skin is steadily getting worse (he’s losing the fur on his legs from all of his biting and his skin is peeling) and I really want to take him to the vet to get him taken care of. This would probably involve getting him flea pills, as the topical stuff gives him seizures, and something to treat for mites. If anyone can donate anything, it would be immensely appreciated. I’d give him to a loving home if I could find one, but he’s incredibly anxious after having lived with my mother and will bite himself raw if he’s not with me. (We tried having him stay at someone else’s house for a week and it didn’t end well at all…)
Please help if you can and reblog if you can’t. I really want to be able to help my dog.

Hey guys, I received an email from the Minot Police Department today that essentially stated that Vader’s death could have been avoided had Tara and Eric not lived inside the illegal zone. If you could take a moment and email them the following questions, it would be greatly appreciated. We have to let them know that we will not fall for their derailment tactics and they will be held accountable for their actions, otherwise they will continue directing the blame away from them and avoid a proper investigation that may help find some closure and justice for Vader’s owners.
Why didn’t your officers provide a proper warrant or conduct a thorough investigation on the anonymous third party bite claim? Why didn’t they use a catch pole or allow Vader’s owners to load him into the carrier themselves, which they offered to do? Why did your officers think the proper thing to do was to grab a frightened animal by the neck? Why weren’t they issued a citation instead of having their pet taken away and euthanized in less than 24 hours without warning them or allowing them to say goodbye? As far as bites are concerned, where is the proof of a medical screening showing that flesh was punctured on either the officer or the first alleged bite victim? Where is the copy of the police report and evidence that allowed officers to seize Vader?
