so thing is with the zutara vs kataang discourse coming back up again (as it inevitably does) is that i as a neutral fan always end up feeling more convinced by the zutara fans’ arguments far more than I am by whatever the kataang fans have to say. I mean, it’s never anything new with them. It’s always “oh, you guys just ship zutara because you think Zuko is hot and you want to use katara as a self insert” or “coloniser x colonised relationship!!” or whatever. And zutara fans repeatedly debunk these arguments all while putting forward detailed analysis and pretty considerable “proof” of the pairing and. their criticisms are superior too! Zutara shippers take their time to study the show in order to explain why they think kataang is flawed, and I, again, as a neutral non shipper can’t help but be all “hmm…they got a point…”
and meanwhile you have Kataang stans hurling the same insults like kids in a playground. It’s been what, how many years? If you’re so convinced that your ship is superior, come up with better arguments!!!
