replying to iyavi on the dante body post really got me thinking about my Top Indulgence Dante HC which is that dante would the Elemental Spirit of Fire's favorite guy if the elemental spirits got recompressed into the five sons evidence for this is: 1) he passed the trials of the elemental spirit of fire 2) he can roughly understand and communicate with fire spirits 3) he respects them 4) he understands that spirits have varying personalities ("Just like humans, they possess their own individual traits and beliefs." - C. 10-1) 5) he's just so cocky about some spirits having favorites

i knooooow that the five sons practically do not exist. HOWEVER, imo there is still signs of unifying personality in the spirits and it's fun to imagine them 'coming back' as characters and interacting with the clan members and giving us insight on their father, the God of Klein? and them putting that copy of god on just one continent? lowkey, to them, rin and eiden might be like the children their beloved daughter sacrificed her life for. there is a good chance that they just like the twins. however, i think it's more interesting if they lowkey resent them for being the product of the destruction of their 'pseudo-father', y'know? in terms of personalities for each son, i don't have a ton hashed out. going over the important part though: the son who went on to become the fire spirits. the most prominent trait that we have of him are the trials of his spirits. from these trials, we can glean that he respects people who are independent and able to conquer their fears. now, the sample size (which is two (1)) is Not Great in general but it's Pretty Good for nu carnival given the limited room for exposition.

the primary example we have of the trials is based on the single trial that eiden took during cowboy dante's rooms. in that trial, the spirits forced eiden to confront his worst fear and they wanted him to confront it alone (though dante stayed by eiden's side regardless of the will of the spirits). (dante sticking by eiden's side causes the spirits release them early instead of putting eiden through all the trials.) during the rooms, it is indicated that the trial that eiden went through is similar to the trials dante went through as a child, so that doubles the count. another trait that we can more dubious attribute to this son is that he does not care about the status or lineage of those he bestows power to. this is solely based on dante's trials, but his trials were proctored by the most powerful elemental spirit (the elemental spirit of fire. that's what it's called. this terminology is hell) in the fire territory and i think it is a fair possibility that the amount of power a spirit has corresponds to how much of their son that they possess. dante states in his chase the rainbow unit that the elemental spirit of fire did not grant him any favor despite his family's history contracting with it. from this and the trials, it seems like the son that became the fire spirits was someone who deeply valued character, strength, and willpower and disdains reliance on others, whether it be blood or bonds. he only cared for the individual proving themselves on their own power.

with the fire son (im gonna start calling him the fire son) being such a principled and judgemental person, it feels extra special for him to like dante so much. and why wouldn't he? dante's already proven himself again and again for the fire territory. dante works endlessly hard, he powers through his weakness, and he has been forced to operate mostly alone. and the fire son, through spirits, has been witness to all of it... tl;dr, dante should be the fire son's specialist little guy, not out of nepotism, but because the fire son has been watching him work himself ragged and the fire son thinks that that's how an ideal person should act under the circumstances that dante finds himself in. the fire son should like him sooo much and spoil him and everything.

Idol Fest (Olivine/Blade/Yakumo): TOO MANY OUTFITS and eiden probably has pulled consecutive all-nighters by now. Too distracted(?) to thirst in detail??
