Do you ever think about what a loser Dante is. I’m specifically referring to the end of his main story chapter when Eiden is like, “I might have helped you and all but I still can’t stand you” and Dante is like, “Only someone who wanted my attention would say that” and then he literally walks off into the sunset.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH I CANT STAND HIM!!!! WHAT’S WRONG WITH HIM!!!! HOW DID HE GET AWAY WITH THIS!!!!
often and always, haha. i try not to harp too much on it at risk of flanderizing him (and because there's a careful balance (to me) of clowning on him vs. making him out to be a clown). the end of his main story chapter is just banger after banger.
1) dante has seemingly never apologized to anyone (and he's not about to start) -> ok???
dante going from glaring to eiden to looking away when eiden asks if he's going to apologize. throttling him.
2) eiden says that he can't stand dante -> iconic starting point for a pair 3) dante laughs and says only someone who wanted his attention would say that -> ??? the logic here, king... 4) dante then smiles (!!) and says eiden has succeeded? and then he smugly walks off into the sunset???? -> ????????? he? likes eiden??? and he's smug about it? he's soooo. im going to blend him into a fine puree. you wouldn't even think that dante likes eiden at the start of the ending (wrt eiden commenting that dante looks like he wants to cut eiden's throat). but then???? dante's little laugh? his big charming smile?????
all his hostility and then gap moe and then he's so smug about eiden disliking him and then he deigns to admit that eiden has earned his attention?
i've never been so awed. where does he get the audacity. the confidence. he's never been wrong about anything. he's the apple of my eye
