"OWN-A-SALMONID" BILL PROTESTS ON NOVEMBER 2ND
As many of you might've known, a week or so ago, I dug up a bill trying to be passed by the Inkopolis and Splatsville governments below our noses. This bill wasn't meant to make news, but due to me digging it up, it's become a major headline. They tried to pass it under the radar, but that's out of question now that the public knows about it.
This bill, H.R.77, known in the government as the "Creature Right" Bill, but better recognized as the "Own-A-Salmonid" Bill by the larger public due to nicknames by reporters, states that "creatures unrecognized by the state as citizens will need permission by citizens to exist in public places".
In better terms, they're trying to make it so that 'unrecognized creatures in the cities (mostly Salmonids, because the main people targeted are Salmonids) don't get to have the full rights as full citizens like Inklings'. Basically this bill strips away the rights of Salmonids and other fish who aren't recognized by everyone as 'people'. This bill is absolutely rooted in the speciesism and Inkling superiority.
Surprisingly, this bill is NOT funded by Grizzco as I've discovered, but rather by an outside group (further research is needed)
We've identified that if we let this bill pass, then species who are recognized as citizens (like Octolings) might be next. It's also really bad for Salmonids living in this area. We've fought so damn hard to gain rights and respects for Salmonids both in the cities and in their own waters, and this bill will set us back YEARS.
November 2nd, there will be two rallies: One outside the Inkopolis government building, and one outside the Splatsville government building. I will be attending and leading the Splatsville protest while Shallow will be attending and leading the Inkopolis protest (I wanted to go to Inkopolis since Inkopolis is less friendly to Salmonids than Splatsville, but Shallow insisted that she be the one to go there to show the people there that 'she's not afraid'. Love you Mom!!).
We will NOT be violent, and we will NOT set any buildings on fire. However, feel free to bring signs and noise makers along with you. Let's not bring weapons (ink or otherwise) either, okay?
We need to show the Inkopolis and Splatsville governments that we are not afraid to stand up for our fellow creatures in hand no matter who or what they are. See you November 2nd!!
