fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you
ok youre more correct than any of us actually
Tried to tip a tumblr blog at 1am and it was such a suspicious transaction it immediately put a full fraud freeze on my account
Fortunately, banks no longer just ask 'did you make that transaction' they want to make sure you weren't scammed into making that transaction and 5mins after their call will give away all your money anyway.
This is an honest to goodness life saving movement and I cannot be happier banks are adopting it
Unfortunately, it meant I had to have the most embarrassing financial call of my life
-
Me: Ah yeah I was just trying to tip a tumblr blog
Cash: right and were you directed there by a Facebook link? An Instagram advert?
Me: no I was just on tumblr...on purpose
-
Caah: and this person asked you for money?
Me: oh no they just had a funny story, which happened to be about money and I thought, "wouldn't it be funny if I tipped them"
-
Me: * covering a reblog by reblog update on the adventures my mutual was having *
Cash: okay I don't think that can actually happen though..
Me: It might not have, but i was happy to tip them just because it was funny
-
Cash: and how well do you think you know this person?
Me: *considers explaining how much I know about a beloved mutual without ever knowing their name or face* ... I have no idea who this person is
I think in the end Cash decided there was no saving me from myself
is this anything
Damn that of the Devil really do be good video game
i miss patrick :c
The way you're talking about Jax now is so fucking funny to me cause I remember that before episode 7 came out you absolutely despised her and the idea that she could be trans and even said that they could keep her
it was episode 6 that changed my mind actually that episode rules
they hate me for my ability to change my mind based on new information
I think the "pre" and "post" parts in "preposterous" should cancel each other out but everyone else seems to find my idea completely erous

oh I know how to make a poll's results look like the letter E watch this
what is the rightmost digit of the number of responses this poll has right now? (it should be visible before you vote.)
0, 1, or 2
3
4 or 5
6
7, 8, or 9
Confused by the numbering choices here
that's the order numbers go in.
but the middle one?
4 and 5 do in fact go between 3 and 6
you learn something new everyday. unless you're a historian. then you learn something old
have you had any transcendent chowder experiences lately
scary message to recieve because literally two hours ago i had fish chowder so good i was gonna post "suicide postponed this fish chowder is fucking yummyyy" and then was too busy to do so. suicide postponement postponed
admire folks who reblog posts which contradict eachother. exactly! keep em guessing
fuck people who reblog posts which contradict each other. no! be explicitly clear
developing audio software. i fix a bug that's been bothering me for a while. doing so i also lay down important infrastructure for later features. i feel accomplished with my tangible progress. ctrl-f "todo". 146 hits
i need to keep going until i at least have something to show off on here. so far it makes music. i can add tracks and place notes and edit the instruments and play the songs. everything i need for filters is in place. parameter automation and audio samples not in yet but already prototyped in some older project so not too daunting. i've put so much work into this already and it is so cool but it is so not showable yet
due to being browser-based it will not have VST support :))) i also took a glance into VST bindings for a possible Electron build and while that's technically feasible it's looking to be much beyond what my patience can afford. my program does however let you add whatever instrument and effect plugins you want if you can code it in javascript. i'd also like to look into adding support for sf2 soundfonts when i have the time
would it be possible to run the vst stuff with wasm (as in compile c++ to wasm) instead of actually natively? probably would require one million years porting effort but might not...
omg did you guys hear the latest announcement
Occasionally forget people genuinely think capitalism is thousands of years old
One time I was talking about Robin Hood with some coworkers and one guy was like “he was bad because the people he helped learned to expect handouts” and I wanted to be like… okay can you explain how that flawed capitalist propaganda applies to feudalism
reminder that capitalism was literally invented in the 16th century
That’s an exaggeration. What was invented in the 16th century was mercantilism. Capitalism really dates for the beginning of the nineteenth century, with the rise of industry and cash crops over artisans and merchants. Vulture capitalism, with the notion that companies have no duties other than generating profit, is even younger.
Capitalism is only 200 years old and I have to say, they have not been an impressive 200 years
I think a lot of this comes from the fact that most people don’t know the formal definition of capitalism. We all know the word, we’ve all seen the jokes, but very few people bother to actually define it unless they’re talking about political theory and philosophy, so it’s easy to end up with the impression that Capitalism = Money Can Be Exchanged For Goods And Services.
Capitalism is the economic system where most of the means of production (i.e. everything people need to have to make the stuff that everyone wants) are owned by private individuals or corporations, who then hire people to provide the labor necessary to produce things, with the intent of selling the output at a profit. It’s the difference between “you’re a carpenter and you make a chair and you sell it” and “you’re Richard Q. Richington who owns a chair factory, and you pay people to sell the chairs you paid other people to make and then all the excess money goes back to you.” There have been Richard Q. Richingtons on and off throughout history, but that being the norm for every single industry is a pretty recent development.
An alarming amount of people seem to think capitalism = all trade, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
