Hey guys, I do street art. I’m planning on making a massive street art painting of BTS with the #TRBinNYCfighting hashtag above it and #BTSluvfromNYC below it. I’m going to record its progress and make a time lapse video for the boys. I want to collect as many tumblr URL’s and Twitter accounts of those who attended TRB NYC as possible. I’ve never had this problem with an SO but I’ve had a few friends that I eventually had to break contact with because THEIR poor mental health was bad for MY mental health. And you really do feel so fucking awful and guilty when you have to do it, because you KNOW that person is taking it as a betrayal, and now they see you as just another person who’s hurt them in their life.

The balancing act involved in trying to support a loved one with a severe mental illness like depression, anxiety, etc is very difficult. There’s this concept my therapist called “care fatigue,” which is exactly what it sounds like. The same way you get fatigued by running too long and then can’t run anymore, you can get fatigued by caring too much/too long and no longer have the energy to care anymore. If you’ve ever had a friend who just complains constantly and you find yourself eventually thinking “okay your situation sucks but PLEASE SHUT UP ALREADY”, that is care fatigue. You can’t just give and give and give and never get anything in return. People aren’t made for that.

The earlier comic about looking up and seeing all the damage left behind by your depression and realizing you caused a lot of it yourself is a good companion to this character’s storyline, I think. She’s someone on the other side of that situation. (not, like, literally in terms of the comic characters. generally speaking. you know what i mean.)
