It's rare for me to make proper art of my persona, other than just small sketches and stuff, but I wanted to try today, while also trying to practice lighting again=D

Right. I love my current pfp, a lot actually, it's what I have everywhere and what I've had for years now, but it feels wrong to have an art blog on tumblr, with another person's art as a pfp? You know? I'm kind of considering making something myself, or maybe even just taking this one??? I do like the look of it?? Ughhh, I really don't know

I spend roughly 2 hours on this, which is actually pretty nice, considering digital with line art usually takes a while. Not like the line art is very detailed... Anyway, I don't actually believe I've shown my persona before, not really. I mean, my current pfp is not even my own art, but I've just had it for so many years by now, that it feels like me. Which is probably the reason why my persona wears a skull mask (which is a fairly recent addition anyway, but now I love it).

About the art itself, I feel like it's a bit hard to see what stuff is? It's difficult to see that it's wearing a vest over the blueish purple hoodie, but again, simple line art. Also, I do not know the reason it has part black hair, a red eye, and blackish patches on the skin... just always been a thing, at least since I made my first (probably second) Minecraft skin. So now it's a thing. I've tried to incorporate it into the skull mask as well. I actually sometimes change the red eye's colour, depending on the circumstance, even if it's usually red. I do really like using cyan as well, but today it's red:D Cyan is a very pretty colour though. And that shade that's right between blue and purple as well, so you can't really tell which one it is. I like colours.

Well, I'm kind of just talking to no one here, and talking about random stuff that is absolutely not important.... I really don't know why i keep doing this. Thank you for choosing to click though! Have a nice day tumblr people:]

Edit: I JUST REALISED RIGHT AFTER POSTING THIS THAT I DIDN'T DO AN X EYE UGHHH maybe it's fine, hard when the eyes are dots anyway... but when it's a full eye, it's a thing:/

Hey! I drew bruises, scars, blood and wounds on my skin again:D Been a while since last, and sometimes it’s nice doing it!

I just remembered that I actually like doing these, and sometimes it’s just what my brains needs. Bruises got a bit dark, but I think they turned out fine? Also tried to draw dripping blood or whatever to call it, how did they turn out?

I made some scratches as well with a white gel pen, and I think it works, which is nice because it’s pretty easy for me to do:D

I’m aware very few will see this, but if you have feedback, tips, ideas or just words to say, I’d love to hear it! - I am just self taught after all, and doing it with markers and pens by myself:]

The red on the hands might be a bit overboard, but it’s really hard getting off haha, it almost feels sticky

So… I may not have done hadm the last few days (oops), but I spend 9 hours today on another drawing. It was just supposed to be a redraw😀

uhm… rambles under⬇️ (and the old version of Grian)

Well, I suddenly got motivation to try to do a redraw of this pirate!Grian digital drawing I made a bit more than a year ago. I did watch Pirates of the Caribbean again a few days ago, so it’s probably that.

It was just a quick one then, like to get an idea down, and i never got around to do Scar.

The newer Grian here is the one where I didn’t change his head to be less round, and in the process, blurry it.

But there’s a difference, huh? Even just for quick drawings. The new Grian was supposed to be rather somewhat as well, just to see, but i did spend a biiit more time on it than I had planned.

I’m not really sure if I’m truly happy with his face though. I even made it less round afterwards (which is why his head is blurry if you zoom in)

… And then I wanted to do Scar, and oh boy. This was not as quick whatever kind of drawing, nor colouring, and it ultimately turned out better than Grian imo… Like HOW did I draw that, I don’t even like drawing for very long on digital, especially not lineart. But I’m really proud of the skin colouring, I feel like that’s above my normal skill level.

Pirate smp Scar inspired btw, But I couldn’t fit all the hats:( Also I wanted to add belts and such like I did with Grian, but I forgot:/

Anyway I spent around 9 hours on the full piece today… erm. It was my whole day. Other than that I’ve literally just ate two meals. I’m not kidding….

My creative motivations are so unpredictable, I swear. Some days there’s none, even when I have tons of projects, and some days are this.

What the heck brain.

Wow, Hermit a Day May again huh? Then it’s officially a year since my first post on tumblr.… that’s an odd thought… Well! Here’s Zedaph!

Okay so this is actually kind of exciting to me. Probably also because I haven’t really drawn in a while. In last year’s “may” (and the rest of the year lol) I can see the improvement, and I can really see it here, compared to my hadm day1 last year.

Though I must say that it didn’t turnout exactly like I wanted. But does art ever? The horns were hard, sheep legs were difficult, the colours were confusing (i struggle with how to shade ughh), and the expression turned almost a bit more… excited? - than I planned, after i made the iris’ more horizontal…he was just supposed to be like talking or something! It looked worse when the lineart was on its own though. There’s tons of mistakes as always. But I’m overall happy with it actually, and I like how it turned out!

I’ve never drawn Zedaph before actually, but I did really enjoy it, plus I’ve been watching his s11 season, so i could pull from that:)

Talking about that kind of stuff… i went for a similar like theme of how to draw it as last year. Is that boring? Maybe, I’m not sure. But I did like it, and if I want to change it a bit up later, i may do that. Who knows though

Anyway, I don’t think anyone’s gonna read this, but if you did, thank you. It was pretty fun trying to draw him:) I think this is why i really like hadm, I draw people I wouldn’t normally!:D

I’ve just came back from Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue, with my mom (who doesn’t know much about the game). I honestly enjoyed just looking around, it’s cool seeing it in actual physical forms. It was well done. And I got some pins + a free cape!:]

Recently I’ve been decorating/drawing on some of the plastic stuff in my room with watercolour pencils (because they can be put on with water, stick just fine when dry, and easily get wiped off by water when I don’t want it anymore)

I’ve really gotten a lot of satisfaction out of doing it, it’s pretty fun, plus it adds a bit more colour and personality to my desk:] The problem is that I’ve kind of ran out of white hard plastic stuff…

Also, the middle one I use to hold my giant squashable “esc” button. So i decorated with things i associate with games. Life series hearts (like the sticker i own), the triforce from the legend of zelda, and the sims logo because i played it once, and i like how it looks

I’ve just drawn Will Solace on my iPad the last few hours, and I’m honestly pretty happy with the the lighting and how it looks. It’s insane how much changes with adding colours, lights and shadow though

Thought to start with this because it’s actual insanity how much different layers on top with colour and lighting does.

I was not really pleased with how it looked, especially not the shirt, but now I’m pretty happy with it. It took around the same time as the actual drawing.

Though the shorts (they are! they’re just long) do not look blue anymore:( I guess that’s what I get for putting orange on top.

I’m actually really loving how it turned out, and I did have a lot of fun with it (especially the last half). I’m enjoying drawing like this digitally, then I can save the detailed ones and the line art for traditional.

And of course, like always with these, they are not made to be perfect, they will have mistakes, they’re meant for me to just practice drawing these quickly and get an idea or inspiration down, that I can be happy with. Just don’t look too closely lol

Anyway! I wanted to say how much I’ve grown to like Will, just as a character on his own. Nico is still a favourite, and I still like solangelo a lot, but Will is such an interesting character on his own, and I’m liking him more and more. Wished more of the fandom saw him as more than just Nico‘s sunny boyfriend though, because he actually has depth to his character, and I’d love to see more people explore that:D

Rambling I guess⬇️

Gotten right back into the Riordanverse/Percy Jackson universe over the recent weeks, and with that comes Nico. Very much a favourite character for me (though looking at my pfp, I wonder if that’s a surprise). I’m not used to having several main interests at once though, wow.

It’s mostly a drawing which I’ve done just for the sake of it, and allowed imperfection or small mistakes, so there obviously will be some. His hand though…:( It’s hard drawing a simple hand with big brush holding something…. also I tried making the hair a bit curly, but I honestly don’t know if it looks that way.

I really had a lot of fun though, I like drawing, and especially when it’s connected to current interests. I’m also in the process of drawing Nico traditionally, like a redraw of one from a few years ago, but I’ll see if I finish it eventually or not, I have a habit of starting a lot of stuff I don’t finish.

Anyway, I don’t know if anyone will ever read these, don’t see why, but I enjoy talking, so yeah. But thank you if you have:]

So I’m posting something a bit more unusual for me, because it has literally nothing to do with any fandom, but I made it and now it’s going here

TW I think? Theres a LOT of eyes on both (and an eyeball) and many bright colours

The first is one I actually did in December last year, and yes, my red pen is not working as well after that. Oops:/ But I really enjoyed doing it, it felt weirdly nice. Also the paper, which were previously pretty thin, feels rough and thicker because of how much the pen ruined it, i love the texture of it

And the second one is made today:) I was actually not sure if such could be done well traditionally with markers (by me at least, who is not used to it), instead of digital, but I like how it turned out. I covered up the white smudge on the nose after the picture was taken, but I can’t be bothered retaking it

I actually really like doing these type of drawings, both were pretty random, ideas coming along the way, no proper sketch, and mistakes/trying stuff out accepted. And I like the vibes

I made the sketch of mer!Legend in december, and finally did the lineart and coloured it yesterday:D

There’a definitely mistakes, i’m not used to drawing underwater scenes nor more complicated poses/expressions…

I’m especially not really satisfied with how the face looks, also because i think it looked better in the sketch lol😭 but that happens sometimes apparently. And idk how to do skin underwater. But at least i really like how the hair and tail turned out:)

Also, I bought a new pencil sharpener last week because my old ones kept breaking my pencils, and it’s SO nice having one that can sharpen them fully, so i spend some time on sharpening the case of 36 coloured pencils i use the most before this, part of my skin peeled off now:’D

Happy 40th anniversary for The Legend of Zelda!:D

I almost missed drawing something for the 40th anniversary for Zelda, but i actually did it, though it‘s just a quick 1,5 hour one. But i’m happy i did it!

I haven’t been playing the TLoZ games for a very long time, but i quickly got very into them while playing Minish Cap and later Twilight Princess, they are seriously great games:D

I dunno how satisfied with the drawing/colouring i am though? It’s alright, definitely mistakes with proportions, colours feels muddy, but whatever. There’s not much left of my day, and didn’t have time for more lol. But considering the time limit, i’m happy with i:]

edit: i actually already changed it a few minutes after posting, this was the first: (i think i like the green i changed it to more tho, made it a bit less muddy ish looking

Hermitcraft s8 finale Grian, since I finished the season earlier today. I’ve been watching it for the first time recently, and it’s such a good season, seriously, i get the hype:D

Two versions because i like parrot!Grian, but watcher!Grian with the void and all is also just yes:]

I actually thought I was done with the drawing after a little over an hour, but my ipad had apparantly been on low light, so I had to spend another hour trying to fix things up, and then added a bit extra, yayy

But it was very fun, I tried out the new style again, and I LOVE how fast I can get a basic idea down with it, even if the drawing doesn’t turn out “perfect” and has mistakes (but basic colours and form was done after around an hour!)

I find it kinda funny how different i apparently like to draw on digital from in hand though

It’s a style i’m not used to, brush i haven’t used a lot, i don’t normally draw art in under 3-4 hours, and i’m trying to draw without lineart when on digital, because i just didn’t enjoy it. So a lot of stuff i’m just trying out

I also don’t normally draw watcher Grian like this either, so different design for me as well, and not the clothes i’d put him in, and again i do not know what the purple cloth thing is supposed to be, whatever though. But it was very fun!

I tried playing a bit around with the lighting, and i can just hope it makes sense, but i like it, even if it’s very simple and probably has mistakes.

Btw, the standard galactic text on the purple cloth thingy should write “Grian” and “Xelqua” for anyone curious

Been 2 months or so since i last posted, i’m so good at this.

But anyways, i recently drew @circuitsolder, and actually really enjoyed it! Also, they’re fun and does very nice art, definitly worth checking out:D

I tried to make the wings have a more insect like texture, after i otherwise thought i would be finished, and actually found it very interesting, though a bit challenging to do. Never really drawn insect wings before after all

Also, on Circuit’s own art, the hair is green with a slight turquoise to it, and i struggled so much to get the colour, but i think it turned out alright:)

it’s probably clear that i drew the two version separately, with the head one (2nd) first. I tried to draw them somewhat similar, but the feel of them is so different from each other somehow. I prefer the goggles and tail of the first, and the skin on the second though (also the tail on the first is greyish black?? i dunno why it looks so brown lol)

i like talking about stuff, can you tell? Well, point was i had fun! I started drawing it mid December and finished at the end of January, because i shift between inspirations, motivation and ideas constantly, but i’m glad this was one of the few things i actually finished:D

Credit obviously shouldn’t go to me, i tried to copy Jojo’s art as best as i could after all, purely for practice and fun purposes.

Genuinely surprised and pleased with how these turned out, especially with Twilight. Love the style, was such fun to try, but i honestly expected it to go a lot worse

I really like drawing blood stuff, so that was such fun honestly. I'm pretty happy with the sword hilt and stuff as well actually. I struggled with the head/face and expression this time though, but i guess it is what it is now Alternate versions because i had fun with it:
