Hey friends! I hear more people have been joining mcytblr lately as the fandom’s grown larger. This is a great place with a fantastic community. If you need help or are unsure of something, always feel free to ask! People will help out. Everyone here loves answering questions.
If you’re more familiar with twitter or other platforms, here’s a few tips. ❤
Liking posts doesn’t do anything. Reblogs are way, way better and are always encouraged. Reblogging with comments is also encouraged as there’s absolutely no stigma and people adore the interactions. You can directly comment on a post if you want but reblogging is preferred if you want to actually have a conversation with someone and for your thoughts to actually be seen.
Tag your posts! Lots of tags is fine and many people, such as myself, even love to absolutely ramble in the tags. There’s no word limits to either the posts themselves or tags so feel free to go wild.
When tagging, try to be appropriate. If you’re talking about a specific youtuber/character then feel free to place it in their main tags eg #tommyinnit for tommy. #dreamwastaken for dream and most of them are equally straightforward. I often browse character tags and that’s where I’ll see new posts and maybe interact with them. (I am forever lurking tommy’s tag myself.) Don’t tag every creator if its not related to your actual post - though you can do multiple. For the dream smp, the main tag is simply #dream smp and for minecraft youtube in general, you can use #mcyt Do Not use #minecraft or anything the full word minecraft in. That’s for people discussing minecraft the game, not youtubers! Do not flood their tags!
If your post is very very long then I recommend adding a read more to your post for ease of scrolling. If your posts contain potentially triggering content then try to include trigger warnings in the tags. Eg #tw torture. Keep to that sort of format so people who have those tags blocked will have those posts filtered.
If you’re making a very critical post about a character then please don’t put it in their main tag as people don’t want to see too much negativity when scrolling to enjoy their fav creators. Long analysis posts are very welcome, just tag well. The preferred way to tag for a negative post is usually something like #c!tommy critical.
You can send people asks if you want to ask people questions or just send them messages - when they respond it will appear on their blog and you can even reblog it and interact just like a normal post. They can be anonymous if you prefer. Don’t just send anon hate to anyone, that’s mean. But otherwise everyone loves asks. You can also send people direct messages if you want to chat to someone directly.
Okay, those are the main things that come to mind for me! Again if you’re new then you’re very welcome. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been a fan for a long or short time as I don’t believe in gatekeeping. If anyone has more stuff to add then please do, thanks! ❤❤❤ Love you guys!
