@forduary Week One: Journal One

Ford showing Dipper that the floating cliffs were caused by a UFO is one of my very favourite moments in the series. The storyboarding on it is so good. So here he is finding them for himself. He can't help standing dramatically- he just does it without thinking.

I think it's very funny that "show them my secret UFO and tell them they're very special" is Ford's favourite bonding activity when he really wants to impress someone- he does it with both Dipper and McGucket- and it would have ABSOLUTELY worked on me. Mabel would be getting that bus back to California on her OWN.

I don't think Ford actually explores the spaceship until Journal 2, but I'm pretty sure he writes about the floating cliffs in Journal 1, so it's going in here. I have something else planned for next week 😁

Bad Art Release day

This one's a self-indulgent one, my friends.

My birthday, June 2nd, is officially Bad Art Release day. On that day, you make and or post art that you don't think should be posted.

Grab some Dollar Store crayons, doodle a bunny. That sketch you've been noodling with for like 200 hours and you just can't get it right? Post it anyway.

Got some incredibly self-indulgent recordings of you singing your favorite song? Throw that shit on soundcloud.

Doesn't matter what it is. Doesn't matter if it's ready for prime time or safe for work. The journey is the destination, baby. If you were having fun and or trying to say something, it counts.

Please create bad art, or release the art you think is bad into the world. This is your permission to post ANYTHING, to spend time making ANYTHING, to try something new or let go of something old.
