FROSTTALE
Background
«Once upon a time, there were two races living on Earth: humans and monsters. But one day, war broke out between them.»
«And in this war, humans were victorious. On the snow-covered mountain of Ebot, the monsters were imprisoned by the seven most powerful magicians...»
«Monsters, trapped under the ice.»
«Years of cold weather during their stay made the monsters colder towards each other, and only the King and Queen tried to keep warmth in the hearts of their citizens.»
The Fall of the First Man
Once upon a time, a child climbed a mountain. His name was Chara.
He was a difficult and even cruel child.
But the Drimurov family took him in as their own. In particular, Chara became a brother to the prince of monsters, Asriel.
Over time, the man's heart began to ache deeply. Ice grew inside him...
With each passing day, he became more and more like an ice sculpture...
His inner hatred let the cold in faster than anyone could find a solution.
The cold took hold of Chara's heart, and he attacked his brother. Chara could have delivered a second blow that would have killed Asriel, but he froze... Forever.
Explanation!
💙 As it turned out, most people gradually began to freeze. And if a person had also been experiencing negative emotions for a long time, the process would have been faster.
🤍 For monsters, this was compensated for by the presence of magic, which prevented them from turning into ice, although some monsters still clearly show indifference towards their own kind.
🩵 But there was one quality that prevented a person who possessed it from becoming cold-hearted: calmness.
Such a person might try to melt the feelings of those whose hearts are frozen.
The main characters are Frost and Frisk!
Older sister and younger brother.
Frisk and Frost are orphans. Their parents died on the mountain — specifically, they were crushed by an avalanche. It was an accident.
However, Frisk in particular was never told how exactly his parents died; he was only told where — on Mount Ebott.
And what do you think? The little one decided to check it out for himself. He snuck up the mountain at night (it wasn’t winter yet, so it was possible), found a cave, and inside there was a huge icy crevice. Since parts of the mountain were covered in ice, he slipped and fell.
Later, Frost noticed he was missing, and since her brother often talked about going to the mountain, she rushed off to look for him.
And then she fell in there too…
Runs in the family, clearly.
