I would say the most frustrating thing about being told I likely have ADHD is that they still want to treat the anxiety.

Fellas. They've been treating the anxiety. I'm on Effexor. I had an open-ended prescription for Xanax. I've been on all the pills. Ativan is better than Xanax. I also like Klonopin, though they don't usually give me that one.

I'm on Buspirone. The woman I spoke to upped the dose, which is fine. But she wanted to give me Seroquel, which seems fucking absurd if the anxiety is being caused by the untreated ADHD.

Seroquel, which causes weight gain - almost an automatic veto there, tbh) and can raise your cholesterol, which is a hard pass from me because I already tend towards that.

I guess I'm frustrated because I've literally been treating my anxiety for over ten years. And then someone comes along and says "Hey, you also have ADHD, which can cause anxiety, and depression, and mood swings, and irritability, and forgetfulness, and everything you just described. Isn't that crazy? Now let's go treat your anxiety some more!"
