Got news about my ear infection that I was hoping not to hear, but somewhat expecting given the symptoms were ones I haven’t had in that ear since I was six. Not only were the original antibiotics and the ear drops basically not doing anything, but… I have a CT Scan and surgery in my near future. At least I’m on better antibiotics and steroids to clear out the infection that isn’t the main issue, but would interfere with the future stuff.

Main Issue: Need the CT Scan to determine how much of the tissue in my right ear is dead or dying due to a Cholesteotoma forming in my middle ear on my eardrum. Then I get the second tympanomastoidectomy in my life on the same ear I had it done on thirty years ago to remove the ototoxic material of the cyst. Hopefully this time, it never comes back so I don’t have to get Eardrum V4. Because, unfortunately, the C-word can come back over time.

Be back later. First time today I haven’t been bedridden with vertigo. Want to do some things off mobile for a bit before I keep writing. Been in bed since 7:00 am… That was nine hours ago.

Only doing plotting and a few replies tonight. Been in and out of lethargy all day. Literally the moment I’m not occupied with something, my body decides it’s nap time. But that’s to be expected when you’re running a low fever because your body’s trying to work with antibiotics to clear out an ear infection and heal a ruptured eardrum.

Welp… Not able to hear out of my right side very well. Pretty bad infection. But I heard a two words that made my mood drop. Potential Cholesteotoma. Hoping whatever is in the fluid behind my currently ruptured eardrum is not that again. Had that when I was five and had a series of major surgical procedures to remove it before the last one ate away my ear bones and the rest of my first eardrum.
