Managed to finish one more piece of animation before the new year! Part ?/??? of my Super Sons anim project, based on Superman #10 by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason.

Jon has always been edgy

He's always been quite intense

Jon has even said that his favourite Superman suit was the black one

The issue is that they're going about it wrong

Jon's energetic personality and his edginess live in perfect harmony

They DO NOT cancel eachother out

And he's obviously not subdued and consumed by the edginess

I don't like his new suit's colourscheme. But not necessarily because it's "edgy". It's just too bland and subdued (as is everything about Aged!up Jon, but I digress)

I would prefer something like this for a colourcheme

Not an artist by any means and my editing skills leave much to be desired but I believe you get the concept

I guess I used the word edgy for the lack of better term, or I misunderstood the meaning of edgy for being esl

I just feel like they try to make it look darker and cooler but failed at it. My main problem with it is that the accent color(red, yellow and light gray) are too evenly scattered, making the design look messy. But since it might be the final design I thought maybe adding textures will make me like it better

Also I like your edit! Adding more red and bring back some blue it’s a great idea, and it’s very well balanced!

but I will say although I am okay with this cause it isn’t my design, it’s better not to edit other people’s art(without permission) when critiquing, using other art as examples or drawing yourself is a better way to critique imo
