Clark and Jon arguing with each other miles apart using their super hearing. I just know this pig dude was confused as hell 😭
i think people need to realize more that bruce wayne is a complex character, and batman is not a good person especially when faced with regular folk
one of your recent posts made me remember that batman only affiliates with heroes/vigilantes if they're useful to his cause. in the case of ragman, batman was going after him criticizing his existence (for no reason, at the time the suit of rags wasn't as sentient and bloodthirsty until years later), until a large group of civilians gathered to protect ragman from the bat, after that batman "approved" his work
you can't look at me in the eyes and tell me batman wasn't using the fact that ragman was liked by the public for his own interests. ragman was never even seen as a hero or vigilante but as a protector, batman saw that and wanted some of that pie
and i'm only using ragman as example because at the time he was just a guy wearing a costume made out of rags operating in the slums of gotham, with other characters its a bit more obvious what batman can gain from attaching his own name to theirs (not the other way around, but he's got good pr so people would assume the others are using batman's name for their own gain)
I just saw excerpts from a comic the other day where the trinity are arguing about what to do about a betrayal by someone superman picked because Clark was giving memberships out to every self proclaimed hero and vigilante fighting to do good he came across, and while Diana was reasonably like "let's just be more discerning and put more thorough background checks in place" Bruce was adamant that they do thorough investigations into the whole league, including people who had been operating with them for years and have already proved themselves to be trustworthy. Clark brings up the obvious point about violations of privacy and Bruce doesn't care because the people around him are peices to be moved to achieve a goal first and teammates second. This comes through especially in Tims birthday torment nexus comic where that mindset is exactly what Bruce is hoping to sow in Tim by creating distrust for his teammates. It's also what makes Dicks style of leadership different (read: better). Dick is still prone to imposing his view of what's best or morally right on the people around him, but at the end of the day he trusts his team wholeheartedly to have his back. You see this in the difference between Bruce's contingencies for his teammates (kept secret from the other members, relies on as few other people for help implementing as possible, has not given anyone on the team a contingency for himself) vs Dick's (everyone is aware that there are contingencies, every teammate has someone else's contingency based on their strengths and weaknesses, the Titans all trust each other not to abuse the power they have over each other because there is an equal distribution of power). It doesn't bear saying that this distinction is one of the many things that makes Nightwing a better leader than Batman, if not a better hero - both things Bruce himself has admitted readily. Something to be said here about Bruce's parenting style, but that's a bit off topic.
Batman is equally opportunistic, calculating, manipulative, and egotistical as his worst villains. They parallel each other - that's the point. All of his big Rogues are meant to hold a mirror up to some facet of Batman and show him the worst possible reality. His philosophy is equally built on the ends that justify the means. His only rule is thst he doesn't kill. Crippling, maiming, violations of personal autonomy, privacy, and the rights granted by the law Batman claims to uphold are all fair game if Bruce decides that those are acceptable sacrifices. There is some insane notion I often see that a character who doesn't kill can't be morally gray or ethically dubious, and its a thought process I'm incapable of understanding. Murder is not the only crime. Its not the worst crime, even, arguably. Its not the worst thing that can happen to you by a long shot. Bruce breaks the law and does objectively bad things for the sake of his ostensibly good cause because he believes its necessary and that is pretty much the definition of morally gray.
I love your posts about Damian looking like Talia and I think it could be so funny if that’s how Jon figures out that he likes Damian.
Like, Damian and Jon run into Talia for some reason and this is the first time that Jon’s meeting her (ik what happened the actual first time that Jon met her, but I choose to ignore that because I don’t like when they villainize Talia and also Jon was like 10). Anyway, as soon as he sees her, Jon’s staring and getting all flustered and tripping over his own feet. Damian starts to get annoyed because that’s his mom and he thinks Jon has a little crush on her or something. In reality, Jon’s entire inner monologue is just ‘oh my god, Damian looks just like her. He looks just like her, he kinda looks like a girl. Well, not a girl, he’s a boy, but he’s pretty like a girl. Wait, since when do I think Damian’s pretty? Am I going crazy? No, I’m not going crazy he’s definitely really pretty. Plus, he looks like his mom and she’s really pretty so that means that Damian is pretty too. Actually, I think that Damian’s prettier than her. Should I tell him that? No, I shouldn’t say that. Should I?’
Jon doesn’t wind up saying anything and is completely lost as to why Damian’s all pissy with him later.
I think I like this more than my Jon realizing that Damian is pretty one day and being pissed off about it bc “his face is making me feel some type of way like why can't he be ugly”
Damian: “I can't believe you have a crush on my mother!”
Jon: “???? Since when do I have a crush on your mom????”
Damian: “I saw the way you looked at her...”
Jon: “Yeah that's because you guys have the same exact face! I don't think you realize how pretty you are and how distracting it can be!”
Damian:
Damian: “You think I'm pretty?”
Jon: “I didn't say anything. I think you're hearing things and we should really get that checked out it's concerting.”
no no gaslighting is fine, as long as you girlboss and gatekeep too

💚 HAPPY DAMIAN DAY!! 💚
celebrating 20 years since Damian’s first appearance in Batman #655 with one of my first pieces of art of him!
Back cat bf X Golden retriever bf!
Jon has zero self control. He blabs to everyone about how Damian is his best friend. If they're ever on a mission briefing, Jon will just slip in a compliment without even thinking about it.
Damian: That's the plan
Jon: Ok, I'll meet you at the sewer by the North gate. Also you look very pretty today
Just no filter at all. Ten years of being best friends with each other will do that to you. Damian doesn't even bat an eye.
Damian, breaking into Jon's room in the middle of the night: “Put on your suit I've got a mission for us to handle.”
Jon, who has school in the morning: “Ugh! Fine. Your eyes are pretty under the moonlight by the way.”
Damian: “Thank you. Now let's get going we're wasting time”
Messy boys
We need more content of Tomorrow Man x Damian from Batman Knightflight. ♥️
The shameless flirting they do right in front of their kid. Little Alfred just wants to enjoy his breakfast. Do they really have to do this right in front of his corn flakes.
Damibun
Jon and Damian, hanging out, location: Damian's room.
Damian: “...”
Damian: “I'm bored. Do you wanna make out?”
Jon: “Yes. Thank God you said something this boredom is killing me”
*making out for the next 30 minutes but platonically*
After everything that Bruce put Damian through I want a Damian that does not hold back in his barbs against Bruce.
Like Bruce is nagging at him about property damage, Damian hands him his sketchbook and tells him to go burn another of his sketchbook, since he liked to do that last time.
Or when Bruce berates him for recklessly endangering his life, Damian quips back with, "you tried to send me to my mother, who I defected from, while she put a bounty on my head."
I want the Justice League to see this, and I would love their reactions.
Clark would be the first to call him out like
“He is a child with trauma I'd think you of all people would know what that's like”
Having superpowers should wreck Jon and Damian's understanding of what normal friend things means. Like Bruce can identify Talia by her scent, her walk, her fighting style, etc.? Big deal. Jon has regularly been falling asleep to the sound of Damian's heartbeat since he was twelve and they lived across the country. Jon complains about illusions sent to trick them by going "they aren't even that good, they don't know how to imitate your scent or your walk" and Damian is like "...you know how I walk?" and Jon is just like "yeah, duh, I'm your best friend. I even know what your lungs sound like" and Damian's response is just "🤨🤨🤨🤷🤷🤷"
(Also Damian definitely smells of jasmine, just like his mama)
Jon: “That is not how Damian breathes...”
“...what?”
Damian: “Jon smells like sunshine and fresh cut grass that is definitely not him”
“You know what he smells like???”
Damian: “Of course I do. He's my best friend”
“.....😶😶😶”
Jon and Damian are so funny because everytime they go on an adventure together they are always like, "You are INCREDIBLY infuriating and SO reckless. Would I join you and save your life again next time? Ofc I will"
Jon mockingly calls Damian by all manner of royal nicknames but then he's also the one who has Damian's unnecessarily complicated coffee order memorized and is always the one buying it for him, and the one time Damian bought it himself, he spent the whole day pouting and questioning whether Damian was upset with him or something
My version of Jon ALWAYS gives Damian the ultimate princess treatment. I love spoiled Damian, he deserves it.
Imagine Alfred Jr. travelling back in time when he's still a kid himself. He latches onto a teenage Damian immediately, since he's a familiar enough face. At first, his entire family teases him for being imprinted on like a baby duckling with its mom, but then their panic starts to grow when it becomes obvious that Alfred Jr. is fully treating Damian like his parent, which is crazy because he's still the baby of the family himself, there's no way he's capable of caring for a kid.
Bruce and the older batkids try and coax him away from Damian but they only succeed for a few hours at most before he starts wanting to go back to Damian. He also has intense separation anxiety (which is understandable considering how he got here) but it's really messing up Damian's schedule and overwhelming him completely. Jon appears at the Manor during a particularly bad spike of Damian's own anxiety and manages to handle the kid better than almost any of the other Bats.
By the time the Jon of the future arrives to collect his kid, everyone has already realised who he belongs to.
This made me write a short scene. It’s not really good, but I had fun okay? XD

"Oh, that’s so cute," Dick said, amused, when he spotted his youngest brother on the living room couch. Alfi was lying on his stomach next to Damian, sprawled across the space with his bare feet pointing toward the teenager. The young Wayne looked up from his laptop and shot him a dark look. "Jon is back from the park, he completely wore him out."
Dick nodded and sat down beside the two of them, with gentle fingers, he brushed a few strands of hair out of the child's eyes. "You seem stressed," he remarked without looking up. Damian remained silent for a long moment, only the long sigh that escaped him proved Dick was right.
"Jon said the child called him Dad..." He admitted quietly. "Repeatedly."
The older man's hand stopped where it rested against the boy's head. "Sorry?"
Damian let out a small, panicked laugh. "Yeah, crazy right?"
Dick's mouth was slightly open, he blinked. "He was probably just confused—"
But he stopped himself as he looked a little bit closer at the child's face. Oh. "I mean...he does look a little bit like—"
"Like Jon", Damian interrupted him. "He looks exactly like Jonathan. But father did a DNA test, he is definitely mine i—", the teen leaned back, covering his eyes with both hands. "This is bad..."
Dick let out a laugh in disbelief. "You and Jon?"
"Seems like it", Damian responded dryly.
"But...how? You are both men", Dick said in disbelief.
Damian lowered his hands enough to glare at him. "I wasn't aware, thank you for your groundbreaking observation, Grayson"
Dick ignored the sarcasm. "I mean... maybe it's just a coincidence that he looks so much like Jon... and...maybe the two of you raised a child together for some platonic reason—that wouldn't be the strangest thing that could happen."
Damian raised both eyebrows at him.
Dick sighed deeply. "Or Kryptonians can get men pregnant too..."
Damian's eyes widened "or they can get pregnant!"
Dick chuckled, "or that way around. Whatever helps you sleep at night, D."
Damian, dramatic as ever, looked like he wanted to die. "This isn't funny, Grayson" he hissed.
The older brother raised both hands in a conciliatory gesture, but he was still smirked stupidly. "Alright, alright, I'm sorry."
He slowly lowered his arms, his gaze settling back on the child. "Look, there could be all sorts of explanations..." He raised his eyes to Damian. "Just...would it really be that bad? If he was Jon's?"
The younger one looked as if Dick had grown a second head. "Yes, that would be horrible!"
"Why?" Dick asked softly.
Damian was struggling to find the right words for a moment. Because now that he had to think of a reason...there really wasn't a good one. "Because... because he is my best friend and...that would just be weird as fuck!"
Dick sighed. "It being weird for you right now is not really a reason though..."
Damian clenched his jaw, his gaze dropping down to the kid that was still sleeping peacefully beside him. Sleeping like a damn stone huh?
The longer Damian looked at him, something caught his eye. One of Alfi's ears was a bit pointy, nothing you would notice on a first look...but it was there. Damian swallowed thickly. It was this small imperfection that Jon had as well...he got it from Clark. It wasn't anything kryptonian...just a little gene defect. Kon had it as well... stupid pointy ear.
Well, fuck...
"I guess...the child seems fine right? Healthy and..." Damian looked at his oldest brother anxiously. "He hadn't shown any concerning behavior, had he?"
Dick's face softened. "He is completely normal, Dames."
The teen took a shaky breath. "And Jon is very reliable... he would make a good father. That doesn't mean I have to like this possible future, but... he would do a good job, and I trust him... that's all that matters."
It was insane.
Him and Jon? Someday? In a far far future? Impossible.
Some kind of unwanted cloning experiment? Maybe...
But whatever the answer was... it couldn't be that bad. After all, sitting right here was the proof. A child who—to Damian—was already perfect.
