Asher: i'm allowed to be annoyed over you digging into my past all of a sudden. you may want to know your siblings, but i know my family and all i have is my sister and my moms. that's all i want to know.

Anna: Fine, whatever. Glad I didn’t grow up with such an ass for a brother anyways.

Text to: Asher

Asher: and then what? what exactly are you hoping to get from the dna test? a new family?

Anna: No...just to get to know my siblings. Why are you being such a jerk about this?

Text to: Asher

Asher: as far as i know, we didn't have another sibling. it was just us. if that were the case, she would've had to have you when she was 16, right? and then what, gave you up for adoption right afterwards? why would she do that for you and not for us? it doesn't make sense.

Anna: I was given up for adoption as a baby, yes. My mom, my adoptive mom has had me since day 1 or whatever day I left the hospital. I don't know, her parents? Maybe she regretted it and then had you because she wanted to make up for giving me up? I don't know her train of thought. Can we just do like a DNA test? If it says I'm wrong, then I'll drop it and never bring it up again and like take you for your favorite food to make up for all the trouble.

Asher: if you squint your eyes, anyone looks similar to another person. and i don't know, it's been forever ago, man. i stopped thinking about her or what the hell happened to her when i was adopted. if by some freak chance that's the case, do yourself a favor and stop talking to her altogether. she's crazy.

Anna: I got that vibe when we talked to each other. I don’t really want to talk to her again but I do want to know my biological siblings if by some magical chance it is you and Adalyne.

Text to: Asher

Asher: there's always a chance it was another asher and adalyne out there, anna.

Anna: I mean, yes. But like, we're from Texas, we're adopted, and we kind of look similar. I think you may be the Asher and Adalyne I was told about. What is your birth moms name? If you remember.

Text to: Asher

Asher: wouldn't be surprised if she was... i haven't heard about her in a long time. why?

Anna: I think we're siblings. I talked to my birth mom a few days ago and she mentioned that I have a brother named Asher and a sister named Adalyne. I think we kind of look similar, after staring at your picture long and hard for a long time.

Text to: Asher

Asher: yes, we do have the same birth mom. we have different dads, though, so that makes us "half-siblings" but i don't like referring to her like that. she's just my sister.

Anna: Understandable. Is your birth mom in prison?

Text to: Asher

Asher: Hey. This is one of the most random texts I've ever gotten, but sure. Go ahead.

Anna: First...are you and Adalyne biologically siblings? Like do you have the same birth mom?

Text to: Asher

Anna: Hey

Anna: Do you mind if I ask you questions regarding your adoption?

Grace: "What?" The question had immediately stripped her of any lingering sleepiness as she sat up. "What are you talking about?" Her expression remained confused, even more so now as her eyes ran over her girlfriend's face, partially to pick up on what she was feeling and the other part trying to take into account the question she had asked to note if she did, in fact, share any resemblance to her brother-in-law. "What's going on?" Her voice soft, tinged with the slightest bit of apprehension as she asked, sitting up entirely to look at her as she reached over to turn on the lamp from her room.

Anna: set her phone to the side, where it was obvious she was scrolling through Asher's pictures on facebook when asked what she was talking about. "I talked to my birth mom today for the first time ever. She's in jail, which I learned when I found out about her a couple weeks ago. Sorry I didn't tell you, I didn't tell anyone. Anyways, she told me I have two siblings named Asher and Adalyne. I'm putting two and two together and Asher is adopted and has a sister named Adalyne. What if they're my siblings? I just can't tell if we actually look anything alike or if I am just kinda hoping because that would mean that I know my brother pretty well. What do you think?" She asked as she held up her phone that had a picture of Asher next to her face to let her girlfriend be the judge.

Grace: As she turned over, the light, albeit somewhat dim, still forced her brows together as she raised a hand to her face, shielding herself from the onslaught of light she had not expected. When a moment passed and she grew slightly more awake, she moved her hand away and peeked with one eye open as to what it was, seeing Anna scrolling through her phone diligently, as if she was a woman on a mission. “Anna,” she mumbled in confusion, allowing her fingers to brush away the hair that had fallen onto her face. “What time is it?” she whispered as she turned around to reach for her own phone to check the time. “Hun, what are you doing?” Grace couldn’t believe she was still up so late as she caught sight of the time, rubbing her eyes.

Anna: had been lost in what she was doing on her phone that she didn't notice her girlfriend mumble her name. It wasn't until she felt movement on the bed that she looked away from her phone. She bit onto her bottom lip when asked what she was doing. She had no idea why she was keeping it a secret from her in the first place and really didn't want to lie to the girl she loved so much. "Do you think Asher and I look alike at all?" She asked, answering Grace's question with a weird question that would most likely bring upon more questions.

Anna: didn't know what triggered it in her but she began to look into her birth parents. It had been a thought that passed quickly a few times as she was growing up. She loved her mom and had a happy home life and life in general, it was enough for any kid not to think too much about the fact that the person raising her wasn't the woman who gave birth to her. Suddenly, she found herself actually looking and surprisingly she found results. Granted, what she found out wasn't the greatest since she learned her birth mom was in jail. Once she found out the address of the jail, she found herself writing a letter and introducing herself and even sent a picture and gave her her phone number in case she wanted to call. She surprisingly never told Grace about any of what was going on. It was like she wanted to keep it a secret until she learned more about all of this. Even if it made her act a little less outgoing around her girlfriend and anyone else for that matter. It had been a week since she had written a letter from her mom and she was growing antsy as if expecting a call from her. She had no idea if her birth mom wanted anything to do with her, she did give her up after all. She still found herself constantly paying attention to her phone and even ignored all calls to keep the line clear. Something she never thought she'd find herself doing was jumping and quickly answering the phone to an unknown number from Texas. She tried to hide her excitement when she answered the phone and accepted the charges from the prison. She couldn't talk on the phone for too long, but the amount of time that they could talk was good enough. She learned that she had two siblings that were born a couple years after her but her mom didn't know what their last names were since they were taken from her when they were just babies. To her surprise, she learned their first names were Asher and Adalyne. She told her mom that she'd try and visit as soon as she can and to try and call again next week before the two of them hung up. After they did so, she went back to finishing her homework, even though she found herself too distracted and gave up. She tried to distract herself by spending some time with her girlfriend in her empty apartment while her brother was off on his honeymoon. Her mind was still stuck on the fact that she had siblings, who she was pretty sure she already knew. She wished she could just text Asher and ask about his birth parents but he was on his honeymoon and she didn't want to disrupt it by bringing up a possibly sensitive topic. Instead she let the thought linger until he would come home. Once Grace was asleep, Anna pulled out her phone and began to look through Asher's facebook to see if she could see a resemblance between her and her possible brother. All while trying to keep her brightness low to not wake up her girlfriend sleeping next to her.

Grace: Growing up with my dork of a brother and my super religious parents meant that we had only a bit of time to have TV time growing up. Most of the time I let Ryder watch whatever he wanted because he always wanted to watch cartoons.

Grace: So I'm only just now getting around to watching the classics? Any other recs?

Grace: I've heard I've been missing out and I believe it - Paul Rudd looks especially cute on the back of this cover.

Anna: I can't believe I had no idea how deprived my best friend was.

Anna: It's official, I am giving you a movication. I am bringing all my classics with me and we are watching them even if it takes all night/day.

Grace: I FINALLY got Clueless on DVD. Bring drinks, I bring popcorn, and we'll have a girls' night? I've been long overdue to see this movie.

Anna: Wait...you've never seen this movie?

Anna: Also I will be right over! I have to be there to witness you watching this masterpiece.

Truth or dare?||Rysher+Lynnwood

Grace: "I am?" Grace asked, a tinge of disbelief in her tone as she quickly aided her question with, "T-thank you. It's not like I've ever had any complaints before." Then she thought about it. "Actually, you know what? Once this boy in middle school was upset because I didn't let him stick his tongue down my throat. It was so gross." She shivered at the mere thought, shaking her head as she gave a small laugh to ease the nerves she felt. "What movie are you wanting to watch?" Grace asked as she turned her head to finally meet her gaze, immediately regretting it once she noticed she was so close, their arms brushing together. With a small intake of breath, she tried not to make it so obvious that she was leaning away.

Anna: "The best kisser I've ever kissed." She honestly told her. Which if Grace knew her at all, she would know she was telling the truth and that was a huge thing too considering how many people Anna had been with. "That's so gross." She said, laughing at Grace's confession about a boy in middle school. She looked at the TV and just shrugged when asked what to watch. "Whatever you want to." She said, looking back at the sight that was much more appealing than anything that could possibly be on TV in that moment.

Truth or dare?||Rysher+Lynnwood

Grace: The more they kissed, the tougher it grew to restrain herself from letting her hands roam, caught between wanting to pull her closer and wishing to push her as far away as possible. In the end, she followed the latter of two instincts and pulled away, moving her hand away from where it rested on her cheek to reach towards her own lips, still feeling the tingling sensation. "You know what? I'm kind of tired," Asher said out of nowhere, catching on that this appeared to be a moment between the two of them that was better of being in private. "Ryder, you feeling kind of tired, too?" he asked him as he stood up, tossing the pillow on the couch as he reached for his boyfriend's hand to help him up, nodding his head towards their bedroom so he'd catch on to what Asher was trying to do. Once they left, Grace sighed and smacked her lips together before she gave a sheepish laugh. "Uh, I'm sorry about that," she said as she gestured between them, standing up to take a seat on the couch as she brought her cup with her, definitely needing the alcohol to soothe her rattled nerves. "You want to watch a movie or something?" she asked her as she focused her attention on the TV, turning it on and scrolling through the abundance of titles that Netflix had to offer. It afforded her an excuse to keep from getting lost in her light blue eyes that she could feel burning into her.

Anna: was disappointed when Grace pulled away despite knowing it was for the best. She was lost in Grace's eyes and tempted to pull her back in before Asher decided to announce that he was tired out of nowhere that caused her to look over at him. "Yeah, I'm getting tired too." Ryder said, adding in a fake yawn. He got up and walked to his room with Asher. "For what?" Anna asked as she turned her attention to the other girl. "I liked it." She admitted, hoping she wouldn't regret saying that later. "You're a good kisser." She said as she moved to sit on the couch. "Sure, sounds good." Anna said, smiling over at her best friend. She really didn't want to watch a movie, what she really wanted to do was kiss Grace some more. She usually wasn't this shy when it came to another person, easily able to just grab them and kiss them if they wanted. With Grace, she found herself shying away and waiting for her to make the next move.

Truth or dare?||Rysher+Lynnwood

Grace: Her eyes grew wide at the dare, a fiery red blush staining her cheeks as she looked over at Anna and saw her move closer to her. Instinctively, she wanted to move away, but something kept her glued to her spot - perhaps it was the nerves that paralyzed her, keeping her still as her breath hitched in her throat. "Um, is that- are you sure- is that okay with you?" she asked Anna, fumbling over her words, able to feel the warmth rise towards her ears. It seemed it didn't faze Anna as much as it had Grace, taking a deep breath before she scooted closer to her, leaning in more and more until she finally kissed her, rosy lips brushing against her softly before she applied more pressure, raising her hand to cup her cheek. It was like every nerve came alive in her body, from her head to the tips of her toes, deepening the kiss slightly. She even momentarily forgot that her brother and his boyfriend were watching the entire display, taking everything in. It had been so long since someone had kissed her like this, having been with a few boys here and there at the frat and sorority parties Anna invited her to, but all they wanted was to stick their tongues down her throat and put their hands down her panties. It didn't exactly spark this much of a reaction from her, the beat of her heart quickening in her chest.

Anna: nodded when Grace asked if she was okay with kissing. She oddly found how nervous the other girl was to be adorable and just caused her to scoot closer to her. She was already aware of her crush on the other girl, she just chose to not say anything because she didn't know if Grace felt the same way. She didn't even know if Grace liked girls at all and she was definitely not going to risk ruining their friendship. She knew she wasn't homophobic, but that didn't mean the chance of things turning awkward weren't there. She softly kissed her back once Grace leaned in to kiss her. From the moment their lips touched, she felt what could be described as fireworks with her. It was a feeling she had never felt with any of the other people she had kissed in her lifetime. Not even her high school boyfriend that she dated for over a year and thought she loved. It was nothing like how she felt kissing this girl right here. She completely forgot there was a game being played and two boys were watching them as the kiss got deeper. She just wanted to continue to kiss her, not sure this would ever happen again if she didn't take it all in now.
