Happy Pride Month, everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful pride even if you aren’t able to go out and celebrate!
I am making this post that I too am LGBTQ+ 💖💜💙 (specifically I am bi). I also have she/they pronouns but tbh I don’t really care what pronouns you use
I just want to add a little disclaimer: you are valid if the only person who knows is yourself. You are valid if you’ve never been with (either romantically or spicy) someone of the same gender. You are valid if you’ve only been in hetero relationships.
No one else has a right to your identity but you! No one else can label you but you.
This page is full spectrum LGBTQ+ friendly. Meaning I will not be accepting any transphobia, lesbophobia, biphobia, or any exclusionary behavior of any sort.
If anyone needs someone to talk to, my ask is always open! I also have anon turned on so that way if you’re not 100% comfortable, I will not know your identity. This goes for year round for any topic, if you need to talk feel free to message me.
This are two terms that are often used either interchangeably or differently. Its important to know the actual information about the two before referring to things as either
WORSHIP - Worship is the creation of a relationship via reciprocal nature. Its an act where you give, receive and create a bond through doing so. This is where everyone will start and the beginning for all relationships with deities. You should always research the religion you are entering and make sure you have the key concepts of the religion beforehand. Make sure to also research the deity reliably before beginning worship!
WORK - This is where you engage with a deity with a specific end goal in mind, this is something you do built on a relationship you already have and trust. This is where you and the deity interact to help you reach a goal.
REACHING OUT - Deities typically don't reach out to you first, this is a modern concept. If you want to worship a deity you don't need their permission to do so, which wouldn't happen anyway! Simply do your research, be prepared and begin your worship!
Having a forty-hour work week, I don't often get time to sit down and actually put in the work to worship and work with my deities. Luckily, deities are very forgiving. However, I do worship my deities in subtle ways without thinking. Here is my list for my matron, Queen Hera:
wearing my favorite perfumes; my current favorites are The Good Scent's Red Velvet and YSL's Opium Over Red
wearing clothes that make me feel badass and feminine to work; there's nothing like honoring a queen while feeling like a queen
reading a romance novel; Her domain is marriage, after all, and that often involves love (plus, I am a sucker for a good romance novel)
using my peacock feather water bottle (I collect water bottles for the sole purpose of drinking more water, and when I saw a bottle with a peacock topper and peacock feathers all around it, it had to be mine)
taking care of my body and listening to it's needs; this is a new one for me, but learning to take care of my body in a healthy manner is of the utmost importance
listening to podcasts about femininity and growing as a woman; part of my work with Queen Hera is connecting with my femininity and womanhood, and I am so honored that She is my guide!
this may be stupid, but reminding my boyfriend that I love him and that one day, I cannot wait to marry him
reminding Her that I am eternally grateful for Her; this may also be dumb, but our deities deserve to know they are loved for all that they give us!
this may be unpopular, but revering Her husband, King Zeus; to me, much like King Hades and Queen Persephone, they are a package deal--you may work with one, but the other deserves the utmost respect, too
Normalize falling behind in worship. Normalize not constantly being at 100%. Normalize needing to take a step back in order to keep moving forward. Normalize being imperfect. Normalize being human.
I’ve been SO VERY inconsistent with my worship practice lately. Do I feel bad? Sometimes because I wanted to take my practice more seriously at the beginning of the year. But I know for a FACT that Apollon isn’t mad at me. I still think of him and every time I go out and see an object he would like I simply say “Apollon would like this.”
It’s really okay to do all of these things OP just said.
The gods and goddesses will always understand and they will always love you and want to see you be in good health. They will always be there when you decide to return to your practice.
❊ Hera Aeromorphus. Queen having the form of air, I find you in the cool breeze that blesses the start of my day
❊ Hera Exacestrerius. Queen who averts evil, I find you in mothers who protect their children with everything. Teeth bared and ready to fight.
❊ Hera Kallstephanus. Beautifully crowned queen. I find you in young children playing princess games. They run with tiaras, and I pray you will bless their childhood.
❊ Hera Cydra. Illustrious queen, I find you in the golden sunrays that bring joy to the darkest days. Giving me the strength to keep going
❊ Hera Makaira. Blessed queen, I find you in joyful moments with my friends. Moments of girlhood that are held close to my heart.
❊ Hera Antheia. Friend of flowers, I find you in floral perfumes and floral cakes. In the first bloom of spring that awakens the Earth from Her deep slumber.
❊ Hera Hypercheiria. Queen who protects those under her hand, I find you in my younger siblings. I will do my best to keep them safe, and I pray you will watch over as I do.
❊ Hera Gamelia. Queen of marriage, I find you in wedding halls and the rusted wedding ring my grandma wears. A promise, A vow, until Death do them part.
Queen of many names, Queen of All. Bride and widow, Marriage and Love, Heavens and the Earth. Guide us with your watchful gaze, catch me when I stray. Hail queen of Olympus, praised be your name.
As my creativity kick-started again, I finally did the first round of new dividers based on a request (that I lost thanks to Tumblr).
They are pretty time consuming but other ones will be coming sooner or later. Anyway, just as previous ones, they are free to use by anyone who likes them!

i'll probably end up making a part 2 to this since there's quite a lot of greek deities who are mentioned in only one story, or only a few icons, but are still important to some reconstructionists/revivalists. leave suggestions in the comments if you have any! the next post will likely include the four winds and several minor death deities

Nazis will never be welcome in paganism. They have no space in our communities, we will have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to nazis. You have no right to the cultures, gods and religions you hijack to spread your disgusting ideologies. You will find no refuge or comraderie amongst pagans.
Reblog to let nazis know they’re not welcome here.
If you are a pagan devoted to a deity, please live.
Continue writing about them, please keep saying their names. Please keep worshiping them. If you can’t find the strength within yourself to live for yourself, please try to live for them.
I know it’s getting scary. I think it’s going to get scarier. But please, if nothing else. Live.
Thousands of years, hundreds of genocides and crusades and decimation of culture, and yet somehow my Lords still have followers. Somehow I’ve found them. Somehow these names still have meaning. Through all of us they still remain.
Despite the efforts of centuries of suppression and control, My Lord is still alive, because I am alive.
In our fringe little cults, even when we must whisper because we cannot scream.
and maybe one day we’ll be free to frolic in fields or dance in forests while we chant without fear.
The gods (of any "pagan" pantheon) have seen their worshippers go into hiding. The gods have followed them there. They'll continue to follow us - accompanying us, supporting us, wherever we find ourselves.
