Have you ever had a dream where you thought everything was real? You couldn't just prove it, though.

"Where am I?" — was the first thought in his head. The poor, dehydrated, floating, almost lifeless creature - starved for any sort of interaction. Isolation wasn't a wonderful experience, clearly. Even more so if it were in the middle of the ocean, on a plank. The Cruise the man was on had long since left him on a plank, Going about to its own journey of sinking and sinking until it hit the ocean bed. The rest of the staff, humans, any living being had either drowned or died from starvation. Only he remained and a dread coiled into his gut, too. He wanted to die. The desperation, the anguish, the loneliness was unbearable as is but the sunken cheeks of the man as he had once caught his reflection in the salty water — made even him feel sorry for himself. "Pathetic" He thought. A hoard of gold coins or room stacked full of Gold couldn't get him out of here, for a man who commanded rooms and was feared by all...he was in a rather ... Pitiful condition. A lone tear escaped his red rimmed eyes, falling onto the wood beneath him with a sad little *drop*. He wondered how things turned out this way, One moment he was devouring — or as the rich would say — eloquently consuming, the precious precious gourmet meal with a glass of the finest of wines and the other? He was here. Alone. With corpses but that was another thing, it mostly added to his horror and his need to attain death sooner. But he was a coward. He did not have the courage, as he so advertised to everyone before the cruise's tragic fall, to actually drown himself. No. He thought not of his partner nor of his kids. The reason for his heart beating still was the room full of Gold and the stacks of bills he owned. Foolish man, holding onto hope even if his only companion were the sun and his lonesome bore.
