“Just hold on a bit longer. My dad– I know he’s coming. We’ll be okay.” He whispered, hoping to give her some form of comfort though he couldn’t pull her into his arms like he wanted to. The best he could do was maneuver himself so that she had him to lean on. “They left but I don’t know for how long…” Tears mixed with the blood that stained his face and while he had no luck he still fought against the ropes around his wrists. “Tell me you’re okay?” @anncttebardon
She was so tired----but at the sound of his voice, her eyes fluttered open and she nearly cried in relief. “Rhys.” she breathed, taking the opportunity he offered to lean against him, hiding her face against his chest, “I----they hurt you---” She’d known that----of all the things that the Cruciatus curse had drowned out, Rhys being beaten by another group of Death Eaters HADN’T been one of them. She was shaking, she was so scared (t h e y could come back any minute; they could hurt them both again) but she took a deep breath and managed, “I’m okay----I’m okay, just don’t leave me, please.” It wasn’t fair to ask him to promise something he had no control over, but she just needed to hear him say that he wouldn’t leave her alone.
