Born in Olympia, WA. Her father worked a steady, elite business job and her mother stayed home hosting country club parties, drinking expensive wines and ignoring her children, for the most part. Has younger twin siblings, Lucy and Noah who she often parented, but they took priority, to her mother. She used his father for his money and slept with his friends while he was away, until they divorced. Afterwards her father, whom she had always been close with, remarried. He had two more children who she has no relationship with.

Studied psychology in NYC, where she also learned to love and practice art therapy. She also met her husband Will in university, and he went on to be successful writer of many books on his psychological theories. 

They moved to Fallbrook in 1992, and had a son, Quinton. Both worked while raising him. As time went on, Will became more distant. He was out of town for work a lot and their relationship suffered, but to their surprise, Anne-Marie became pregnant again in 2009. It was a complicated pregnancy but their daughter Fawn was born a healthy baby. 

Anne-Marie took some time off of work to raise her daughter and focus on her art. She has made many sculptures and paintings and has hosted galleries for them. Some have even sold for a lot of money and have been featured in art magazines. When Fawn was old enough to go to school, Anne-Marie started taking on therapy clients again, from her home office. However, the problems in her marriage began to arise once again. This time, she was convinced that Will was having an affair. Rather than confront him about it she decided to have one of her own with a younger female former client of hers. 

Her son Quinton was the one who found out about the affair first, which devastated him. When Will found out, he filed for divorce and moved to Virginia. Quinton and Fawn remained in Fallbrook, but Quinton no longer speaks to his mother. 

As of now, she is raising Fawn, and still counselling couples, families and individuals. She keeps her personal life private from them, for obvious reasons. She is also focusing on her art in her free time, as a way to deal with her own issues. She ended the relationship with her lover, and has chosen to keep her married name at this time.

Anne-Marie had been worried when she heard that Hal was missing. She had hoped that something in the conversation she had with him before he left at the library would have been useful but she knew that it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Nancy was her best friend and she knew how hard this must have been for her.  After a phone call from Ruby, she had decided to set aside some time for her and had insisted that Nancy come to see her. Even threatened to come to her apartment and drag her there if she had to. When she heard a car pull up she went outside to greet Nancy. “I’m glad you decided to come.” she said as she held her front door open to invite the woman in. “Your niece called me and well...she sounded worried about you, to be frank.” she explained gently. “How are you holding up?”

“Hey, girl!” Leanne picked up her pace when she saw Anne-Marie, slamming into her with a powerful hug. “You have no idea how much I needed this.” Or maybe she did, rumors flew around town and she had filled Anne in on a bit. She felt horrible for canceling the last couple of weeks but was so grateful Anne always seemed to understand. “Honey, you read my mind. I just got my hair done, and it would be a shame to ruin all this make up.” She chuckled lightly at the pig comment. She fixed herself up extra nice in an attempt to feel a little bit better given how stressed she’d been. “You know I’m always up for tea, but I may fight on for the bill.” She teased. “Well… a little birdie told me the local responders might be doing a little shoot at the fire station. What do you say we check that out?” She raised her brows mischievously.

“Oof, it’s a good thing you’re tiny.” the woman chuckled wrapping her arms around the other. “You could do some real damage if you were a line backer.” she really had no idea what she was saying. Her ex-husband had been the sports fan, and she only pretended to be interested.  She waved her hand at her comment. “You look gorgeous no matter what. If I forget my make up, I look like bog witch or something. I’m always telling Fawn to enjoy her beauty while it lasts, because one day she’ll wake up and look in the mirror and see me.” She smirked as they started to walk. “Oh. Yeah, no I think we definitely should head in that direction. It’s always good to check in with the emergency services in this town, after all. Although it might make me want to start a fire in my house for no reason.” she joked before letting out a sigh. “Anyways. What’s new, Leelee? It’s been a minute. How are the kids?” she asked.

The man let out a light chuckle before shrugging. “A little, but I probably look similar staring at the paint colors over there.” He said and pointed to what he was just doing before heading down this way and finding the woman. He listened to what she needed and nodded as he looked over the kits. “Well, it depends what you’re going to be using it for. I’m assuming you either need a Phillips or a L key.” He said and looked them over before grabbing a kit. “So this one has a variety of options and comes with several sizes of L keys and screwdrivers. Or if you want a bigger kit when wrenches and stuff, that one down there is good.” He said and looked it over. “Against, depends what you need and how much you’re willing to spend.”

“Oh,” she said, becoming more animated. “That, I might be able top help with. I mean, I don’t know much about house painting but I do know a lot about colors and emotions, if you’re looking for the most inspiring color for your kitchen or something like that.” she let out a chuckle and listened as he explained. She nodded. “The L key. I think that’s the one I’m looking for. It looks similar to the picture on the instructions that I didn’t bother to read.” she let go another laugh. “I must have been a man in another life. No offense.” she added lightly. “Well, it’s like they say. You buy cheap, you get cheap, right? I guess I should probably go with the more expensive one.”  She watched him, unable to help notice his attractive features, and knitted her brow. “Do I know you from somewhere?” she asked. It was his voice that seemed familar to her, more than anything. She would have remembered a face like his.

Depends on the day and the company she's with. With her kids, she feels 80. With her clients, she feels her actual age, and with her close friends she feels 25ish.

are there any accomplishments your muse would want to achieve before they die?

She would just like to see her kids grow into happy, well-adjusted people. And maybe travel more, and take more time for herself.

Despite the house being empty now, with her kids grown and living on their own now, her house wasn’t usually quiet. If she wasn’t video chatting, she had clients coming in and out for sessions in her home office, or inviting friends over for wine, snacks and banter. Even when she was alone, she liked to have the tv on or music playing in the background. The truth was, she didn’t like the quiet when they house use to be filled with Fawn’s music and singing or Caleb playing video games and talking to his friends. Will pacing around the house as he talked on the phone to his colleagues who she found so annoying, but was always cordial to in their presence. Even hearing her kids bickering over silly things would be like music to her ears in comparison to the dead silence. With a sigh, she started to get ready for the day, putting on the tv so she could listen to the news. She showered and fixed herself up, checking her phone to see the time of her first meeting. “Maybe I should get one of those Alexa things just so I have someone to talk to.” she muttered as she stood in front of her bathroom mirror and blow dried her hair. She heard the door open, and knew of only two people who would come in without knocking. One was her son who had not stepped foot in the house in many months, and the other was her daughter. She stepped out of the room. “Hi, sweetie.” she greeted from the top of the stairs. “What’s up? Is the laundry at your place not working again? Have you eaten? I was about to fix myself something.” she said, trying not to get too excited that her Fawn was there as she came downstairs to hug her daughter. “It’s great to see you.”

Now that spring was here, there were some repairs around the house that Nick needed to do and it was time to get them done. Actually, there were repairs that had been needed to be done for years, but he had been putting them off because of his wife. So, now to fill his time, he was going to do them all as much as he could and needed to get some new tools and other hardware to get things done. So, he was filling his cart up while he went through the store and stopped as he saw someone looking a little lost. He went up to the woman with a smile and tapped her shoulder. “Excuse me, do you need some help?”

Anne-Marie had decided to give her house a bit of a face lift and get rid of some of the old furniture she had at home and replace it with new things. Much of them had belonged to Will, and since he refused to come get them, she decided it best to donate them. Partly because they were very outdated, with chairs and coffee tables that had gone out of style in the 90′s, and partly because they reminded her of their life together. She felt it would help her to move forward more effectively if she were to start over. She stood in the tool section looking for the right type of Phillips screwdriver, as one of the tables she bought was going to require some self assembly. She was determined to prove to herslef that she could do it, however. She turned hearing someone offer assistance and chuckled. “Is it that obvious that I’m completely lost here?” she asked the stranger. “Yeah, I’m trying to figure out what I need. I bought this new coffee table, before it occurred to me that either my son or my ex-husband ran off with our household tool kit before they moved out.” she explained.

She had missed her jogging and/or power walking buddy and she knew that the woman had a lot on her plate right now. She spotted the ruby-haired woman from a distance and waved as she approached. “Hey! So glad you could make it, Leanne.” she smiled. “You know, the weather is nice today. I say we keep things light and avoid the whole huffing and pufffing and sweating like a pig.” she suggested. She wanted a chance to catch up after all. “But I’ll let you choose the route. Whatever you want. I’ll even treat you to tea afterwards, if you’re up for it.”

She listened to her friend and sighed. “It’s not going to be a relationship. It’s nothing more than friends talking about our youth and that’s it.” She tried saying once again, but thought about the first loves thing. She was sure most people thought that you couldn’t feel it at that age, but you could. She knew that very well. “I feel he’s one of the most annoying people I know, but a good man and if hears that I said that, I’ll hit him because he doesn’t need his ego inflated?” She shrugged. “I don’t know. Why does it matter?”

Anne-Marie raised her hands in defense, not expecting her to take it that way or get so defensive. “Okay.” she stated. Though she found it to be an interesting reaction, she didn’t say so. She listened as Nancy told her her thoughts on Harrison.  She shrugged. “No reason. I just find it interesting. I mean, in all the years that I’be known you, Nance, I would think that someone kissing you when it isn’t wanted would be immediate grounds for being slapped, or at the very least, insulted.” she looked at her, smirking a little before she waved the comment away. “But, I mean, there was booze involved.” she said going along with her excuse as if she believed it. She started to gather up their trash. “Anyways, I guess we should carry on with our day away from our kids so that we can put up with them when we get home.” she joked. She knew if she got home too late Fawn might worry, though there was a good chance she wouldn’t even notice she had left.

     ANNE-MARIE WAS LIKE A SISTER TO HIS MOTHER, and therefore hal considered her to be family. he’d never had a second thought in coming to her for anything, just as with his mother, so when he saw her sitting at one of the tables, he didn’t even think twice about joining her there. only, he didn’t realize she’d been wearing earphones and that everything he’d told her thus far had fallen on deaf ears. 

but instead of telling her the truth about what he really said, he simply responds with, “nothing. i was just mentioning how i can’t remember anything from our trip to disney world even though there are pictures to prove it.” and if he had those pictures, he’d see how happy they were. him and shelby and their mom and dad. vaguely, he remembers the feeling, but other than that, there’s only a blank space where he’s sure there must’ve been a warm memory. he shakes his head. “what are you doing?” he tries to peer at her screen, try to see what’s gotten her so distracted.

Anne-Marie’s expression softened with sympathy. “Oh no. I’m sorry, dear. That must be frustrating.” she said. Nancy had kept her in the loop when Hal had his accident and she had tried to be there for her friend at the time. It was very hard for her to imagine having to go through something similar with her own kids and how devastating that would be. “What if you were to go again some time? And made sure to take a lot of photos and videos. Do you think you would remember it better then?” she asked curiously as she wasn’t sure what the effects of his condition were. It was a unique thing to experience after all.  She glanced at her own screen, at the e-mail that was open, to make sure that it didn’t contain any personal information from her clients, as was standard. “Just checking my e-mail. Working out my schedule for the week. Things I normally do at home, but unfortunately the wifi is down. They say they’ll have it up and running by this afternoon, but I’d rather not put it off.” she explained.

She laughed softly. “Sounds like we’re never doing that then.” She smiled at her and shook her head. Plus, the last thing she ever wanted to do was do something nice for her dad. He was lucky he even knew her kids to a point. “Probably is.” She grinned before sighing and bit looked at her. “We were drunk and talking about a lot of things. It just happened.” Nancy told Anne-Marie once again. “I don’t know. It’s been thirty-four years. Why would he still have feelings for me?” Though, there was part of her that did still have feelings for him, but that was besides the point.

“Probably not a good idea.” the woman agreed with a small laugh. She listened as she explained what happened with interest, trying not to analyze the situation too much, but it was also a force of habit. She shrugged and straightened up a little. “Well, it’s hard to say, honestly. It could have just been the alcohol, maybe you were remembering the good ol’ days. I mean, it’s usually not a good thing when people jump from one relationship into another, I will admit.” she said. “Although a lot of people stay attached to their first loves, you know? If it was the real deal. Most of us don’t even know what love is at that age.” she shook her head thinking back to some of the guys she dated in high school. “Or maybe he’s just lonely.” she suggested. “How do you feel about him?”

Ever since Stevie had given birth and gone on maternity leave, Isla (being the loving friend she was) had offered to help out at the café whenever she had the time after work. Now, she had never worked as a waitress or anything like that in her entire life, but she had figured it couldn’t  be too much different from handing out coffee orders to the lawyers she used to work for back in Atlanta when she had worked as a secretary. With a apron tied around her waist and a notebook in hand, she made her way over to one of the people who had taken a seat in the smaller area of the café she had been given to take care off (only including a few tables after some mishaps on her first shift earlier that week). Clearing her throat, she offered them a small smile, “Hi, welcome –” She smiled. “What can I get you?”

Anne-Marie had been having issues with her wifi at home for two days now which was largely in convenient, given her line of work. She had to cancel a lot of online appointments but she didn’t want to have to cancel any others and it just seemed like one of those stressful days where things couldn’t have gone less smoothly if she tried. She came to the cafe to use her laptop to answer e-mails, while also trying to contact the internet service provider again to find out what the issue was. He teenage daughter was not impressed, when she spent most of her life online. She looked up when the woman approached. “Well, unless you have some vodka back there, I guess I’ll take an Americano, please. With cream on the side.” She decided to try not to let her bad mood rub off on others and smiled politely. “How is your day going?” she asked.
