MILK 🍼🍼🍼 This is the logo I designed for an imaginary product: human milk. The piece questions ethics and treatment of animals in the dairy industry, stigmas surrounding breastfeeding and human mother's milk as well as the female body used to sell products. I had to learn adobe illustrator from scratch for this idea! There's a lot more I could improve on but I'm super proud of myself for sticking with it despite all the moments of 'I DON'T GET IT! My piece MILK displayed at #stopjectify last week at @gallery_different in London along side a limited edition @cancan_moment can. 🍼🍼🍼 Straying away from my usual watercolour work, I wanted to create a conceptional piece questioning the diary industry, stigmas surrounding breastfeeding and objectification of the female body to sell products...and yes that bottle is filled with real human milk. The diary industry objectifies animals, almost always putting them through physical and emotional hardships, in order to harvest their milk etc. If milk was to be harvested from humans, this would most probably have to go through strictly regulated, ethical channels with consent being a key factor. Drinking the milk of other animals, though intended for baby animals, has become common place. Yet attitudes towards human milk are rife with stigmas...how would society react if we found human milk on the shelves of our supermarkets? Essentially, it would be no different to drinking milk from other animals...in fact it would probably be more natural given that it's from our own species. 🤔🤔🤔 What are your thoughts? 💙💓💙 (at Gallery Different)
