This white dress with golden embroidery was first worn by Kösem Sultan in the first season of Magnificent Century: Kösem. Later the same season, it reappeared altered into a children’s kaftan on Kösem’s daughter Gevherhan Sultan.

The kaftan made another appearance in the second season on Kösem’s granddaughter Bican Sultan*.

(*I assumed at first she is Safiye Sultan, daughter of Ibrahim and probably Dilaşub, since she is sitting with Dilaşub. However, IMDb gives her name as Bican Sultan and there is a historical Bican Sultan but her mother remains unknown. I don’t remember that they ever give the name of Dilaşub’s daughter in the series but if I’m wrong please correct me.)

This white dress and white kaftan with golden print is first worn by Anastasia Hatun aka Mahpeyker Hatun (later Kösem Sultan) in the sixth episode of the first season of Magnificent Century: Kösem.

In the seventh episode, Anastasia “turns” into Kösem. As it is narratively the same night, she supposeldy wears the same dress as Anastasia. However, while the color and pattern match, there are differences. Mainly the kaftan’s gold print being cut off in the chest area on Kösem’s version while it can be fully seen on the one worn by Anastasia..

Anastasia is seen again in the final episode of the series where she wears the costume again. While the kaftan is showing more of the gold pattern than the one seen on Kösem, it is also cut off earlier than when it was seen first on Anastasia. Because of that it still remains unclear whether the costume department made two versions and just refitted it for Anastasia’s second appearance or if it was indeed just one that was altered for every use.
