As a not crazy Exo fan this is unpopular but I feel like chanyeol could be a decent rapper. I like his tone and he's charismatic so I think given a proper chance to write more lyrics he could be good.

I’m not really a big fan of this style that Sik-K is doing…it’s too overdone. He’ve never been a particularly great rapper to begin with but now he’s just doing this new singer/rapper combo that everybody’s been hopping on since Drake made it.
My advice to all rappers, find your own unique style.

I know a lot of people like to add Dean into hip-hop but what exactly does he do that’s hip-hop? Not saying this as an insult. I’m genuinely asking. Not just talking about rapping but like the whole culture because if he does at least something then I would understand his classification.
I’m not saying he doesn’t consume hip-hop or appreciate it. But a consumer/appreciater does not make someone an artist of that genre. Otherwise, everybody in khiphop tumblr is a khiphop artist.
I think instead of pure rnb he has more hip hop sounds to it. But none of his songs are purely hip hop if u know what I mean.

I can’t believe they are actually going forward with this Mino and Bobby thing. I think they might be testing the “pure hip-hop” waters to see how it fares now that YG has gone towards idol over the last decade. If it does do well, which I have not an ounce of doubt that it will, then I think it has good implications for every rapper under YG Ent. They’ll probably get more opportunities to be just rappers.

So basically these are unrelated but make me cringe in the same way I'd imagine calling someone oppa you don't know is how I would feel (I was a cashier) when I was ringing an items up and they'd use my name lol. I know I have a name tag but like idk you and they'd butcher my name half the time.

I mean I was thinking that it would be like when some dude you don’t know sees you and is like “Hey baby how are you?” like that’s the weird feeling I personally was thinking of. Like calling someone “baby”, “honey”, or “sweetie” isn’t necessarily bad and in fact it’s a term of endearment between like maybe an older woman and a younger woman that know each other (”Hey sweetie, I haven’t seen you in a while. How is everything?”) or two people who are currently dating call each other that. But for a random person to say it it’s just like WTF?
IDK if either of these (yours or mine) is even remotely the same feeling but I think that’s the best way I can think of the feeling as someone who hasn’t grown up in Korean culture. lol
It gives weird vibe also coz gf calls bf (who is older obviously) oppa too that's why... And that's portrayed more in Korean media.. I didn't call my ex oppa coz he was my age but I called my current bf oppa coz well.. He's older than me and also when I call him by his full name or "yah" he'd be like why are you dissing me/ babe u mad lol.

Well as annelgato pointed out it is respectful. The term “oppa” is respectful. However, the point is basically don’t say things to people you aren’t close with like that. For example, a rapper on IG. Like annelgato pointed out if you said that to a person on the street they’d look at you like “what the fuck?”.
Maybe you should go read that ask because annelgato is an actual Korean person and she’s a lot more eloquent at explaining this than me since this is her culture and all. It’s a few posts back but it shouldn’t be that hard to find.

Ok I saw a post about calling khh artists "oppa" so I gotta say this: If you don't know, which I know u know, but for those out there who don't know (don't get confused just yet lol), calling someone "oppa" in Korean means older brother for girls, is also a way of showing respect which is a thing to do in Korean culture (I'm half Korean so I know). Like when I'm talking in informal context with my friends I sometimes say "oppa", esp those with Korean names, like "chulgoo oppa" for example
