I've been done with cob's production for over half a year and I'm getting a little nostalgic for my messy boys
finally had enough in my bank account to reorder the Warbler and Lain stickers (along with perhaps a fun little extra to go with them hehe), so there should finally be a restock come June!
Sadly no new sticker designs this run though. Apparently being an adult costs a lot of money, who knew?

Hi, I'm Alek Hellhunde. I'm a trans gay creator who's been making comics since I was a 14—though I only really felt like I hit my stride once I turned 20. I like making stories about gay boys having really bad interpersonal drama.

Crushed Olive Branch is a fancomic set in the world of the urban fantasy YA Book Series, The Shadowhunter Chronicles. It follows Theron, a gay man in love with his best friend and parabatai, Dominic, as their FWB relationship begins to dissolve.

Waves Always Crash
Waves Always Crash is a cat drama comic following the aftermath of a cat war. Chamberlain after the death of His King, must get used to life under his new ruler—a strange sea cat with a grudge named Mariner.

Destiny Conviction
Destiny Conviction (launching June 1st!) is a gothic fantasy webcomic focusing on Faith Everglow. There is a divine chosen one in every generation called The Golden Child. The previous, Fate Everglow, left deep scars in the world, and Faith is determined to not repeat the past. Easier said than done however, when the two share a soul.

Hello, First of all I want to say that your art is so pretty and I love it!!! If you don't mind I'm asking, how do you choose your characters color or color palette? 'Cuz whenever I read your comic I always went "AWE-look at those dang gorgeous colors!!!!"

I'm not very good at explaining this stuff (sadly most of my tactics are genuinely "I feel it out") BUT I will give it an honest shot.
For designs I often stick to like. a color or two to center the character around. Lain is Yellow and Green, Mariner is Blue, Fate is black/grey, Faith is white/red, etc. Even if what I consider "Their color" to be a small part of their design, it needs to stand out. Crane and Dry's color is "Green" but compared to Lain or Mariner, there is definitely very little green on their respective designs.
The Colors around it should showcase then! Dry has a lot of complimentary colors to make the green stand out (darker warmer reds and purples), and Crane has a darker orange around her green eye that makes it stand out more.
For palettes of scenes, it kind of depends. I mostly fuck around with layer and color modes until I get the exact vibe I want for a scene. I like to match up tone and contents of scenes a lot. blues, darkness, and dramatic lighting for serious or sad scenes, more saturated and lighter colors for goofier scenes. Contrast is also important, but I must admit I'm still trying to get the hang on that and am not great at it lmao. I'll conquer it one day.
For wac specifically I try to have the colors set in reality in some way, and I'll find pictures of sunsets/sunrises and color pick to get the vibe that I want. I'll do this for non-wac comics too if I'm really really struggling with a scene lmao.
Also, I decide the setting colors before I even start coloring the pages! I make little scene preps for every scene, and it saves a buuuunch of time when it comes time to actually start coloring.
sorry about the negative space. I never expect people to actually see these. All the little circles with layer modes is what I use to make the characters match the scene colors!

Acacia, a young trans lion, wants to prove to his transphobic father that he's a REAL MAN. Beetle, an excitable trans lioness, tries to help him make a pride and prove himself. But perhaps the boxes they're putting each other in aren't helping either of them…

How long have you been writing?
since 2014 I would say! I've made silly oc stories and such since I was a little little guy but I wouldn't call them "writing" since it was almost always playing toys and no like. actual narrative. 2014 is when I started my first comic (that I eventually completed).
but tbh I only really felt like I finally "figured out" writing in 2023 with the creation of wac.
Day late for MAR10 day but I don't care. Love that fucking guy.
