“That I am. I make it a point to be nothin’ else,” he admitted with a light shrug as he stepped back to make room for her. He had never seen her here before, but with the way he traveled, he wasn’t surprised. Every time they docked at the Citadel, there seemed to be an influx of new arrivals. War had a way of doing that.
James’ brows shot up in surprise at her subtle threat, but he kept his voice as level as possible while still trying to be heard over the music. “You know, I’m incredibly inclined to believe you. As small as you are, you’re scary as hell,” he chuckled, sincerity in his tone.
Anne smiled. "Like I said, at least something. It means you are already capable of more social skills that the most of the guys in your line of work." The was probably not actually nice, but for now Anne didn'T plan to make him her new best friend, they were ordering drinks here, nothing more. Although she maybe should be a bit nicer, because now that she was standing right in front of her she was in the better position to get a drink than he was.
Turning around just enough to give him another smiling glance, she shrugged. "You don't have to be tall to be scary, but thanks I'm trying my best. Just imagine how annoying it would be if you omnitool would start beeping every minute and you can't stop it." She still smiled when she turned around again, waving the bartender to come over to her and being noticed almost immediately.
