The most frustrating thing about also loving the Jemily ship is literally having to deal with some shippers in Will’s tag calling him “an abuser”

You can want a gay ship without making Will into some evil entity that he isn’t and has never canonically been

I swear to god some of y’all just throw “abuse” around at everything until it loses any real meaning of what it is. Y’all expect couples to just spit rainbows and unicorns all the time and never have disagreements and conflicts when that’s literally unrealistic. Having conflict in a marriage/relationship DOES NOT EQUAL ABUSE because sometimes people can disagree over things in their lives. It only crosses the line if this is happening all the fucking time then yes that relationship is bad.

JJ and Will have had the occasional conflicts and disagreements, especially over how busy her job is and how she isn’t always around. Strains under that situation IS NATURAL and completely understandable. And JJ and Will have ALWAYS resolved any angry disputes by apologizing to each other and reaffirming that they love each other and support each other and will figure things out together. THAT IS A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP and for the life of me I cannot fucking grasp the concept of anyone calling Will an “abuser”

There was literally even an episode in Season 12 that’s entirely dedicated to showing us how incredibly understanding and supportive Will is towards JJ, and how their relationship is probably one of the most healthy hetero couples on TV in the last decade or even more. How he encourages her to talk about her struggles and not go to bed with the weight hanging over her like what the therapist says, how he stays up with her and cooks for her and listens to her, how he expresses that he doesn’t like her being in danger but he’s not mad at her for doing her job and being who she is, how it’s not her fault that she can’t always save everyone, and how she is his hero and their boys’ hero.

I genuinely just don’t even get it. I’m not saying everyone has to love Will or want Will/JJ as a ship. If you want Jemily then go for it, but you can literally want that ship without making up some BS justification that don’t line up with canon just so you can somehow feel morally superior(?) about shipping a gay ship over a hetero ship instead 🙃

Like seriously, you can literally just ship Jemily and have Will and JJ break up amicably and share custody of the kids and have JJ move on with Emily, it’s as simple as that. You don’t have to make up some justification that Will is A Secretly Evil And Possessive Abuser ™️ and that’s why you ship JJ and Emily, it’s okay to simply just want to ship them, I promise you

First of all the only thing Emily can think of when she’s offered the Director position is how she can promote JJ, then worries that she’s pressuring her, and JJ reassures her that she’s not, but JJ’s worried about Emily not taking the promotion if she leaves! Both of them just want to put each other first and it’s the sweetest thing in the world.

Not to mention how excited JJ is for Emily, and their dopey smiles at the end! They’ll always have my heart… here’s to the what if’s and if onlys.
