Alright so I’m currently fixating on Ryland x Colt (sometimes I throw Courtland to have some real fun-) but I started out as a wincest shipper, truly the stuff of fairy tales- anyone who sees this feel free to send me asks of your ideas of your favorite ships (can be any proship or not) whether or not I know the fandom I will listen 📝 👂

If the twins had kids (adopted/biological with one being ftm) on earth, they would definitely brag about them (even if they had to keep the other parent a secret) like Colt would bring the kids to set and go on and on about how their other father is so smart and how they get it from him while at the same time showing off all the cool aspects of his job. Ryland would wait until they get to middle school and then make sure they get assigned to his classroom- he would then tease them through the year but also wistfully sigh to the other teachers that they have so much energy and they get it from their other dad

court’s the kinda guy to kiss the top of ryland’s head— not colt’s, because despite being the same age as ryland, he likes to pretend he’s more mature— to show physical affection. though colt gets forehead kisses. he likes those a LOT

court wraps an arm around ryland’s shoulder and tugs him into his side and kisses the top of his head and does the thing where he just rests his face there taking deep steady breaths of his little brother’s scent beneath the shampoo and enjoying the warmth of him against his side.

him and colt aren’t as physically affectionate with each other but court will still, in moments of softness, default to combing back colt’s bangs and kissing his forehead all sweet-like, dragging his fingers through colt’s hair while his little brother pretends to protest.

just… coltlandgentry building a habit of kissing each other’s injuries, whether from colt falling out of a tree and scraping his knee or court taking the hits from their father so the twins don’t have to, the other two are there to patch it up and kiss the injured area.

it’s a grace-gentry thing. they do it throughout their entire childhood up until they’re separated, and it isn’t until court saves the twins from near-death that ryland is the first to remind them of the little habit they had by kissing a bandaged cut above court’s eyebrow.

court has to process that and all the memories that come flooding back in because of it for a couple seconds and then he’s grabbing ryland by either side of his face and tugging him into a VERY intense, yet somehow still tender and gentle, kiss.

and ryland’s knees go weak immediately but then court’s gripping him like he expected it and tugging ryland on top of his lap and groaning at the cute overwhelmed sound ryland makes and then colt’s going “wha— court, court for christ’s sake let the man breathe!”

and when court pulls back ryland’s limbs are trembling and colt’s giving him a flabbergasted, pink-cheeked look and then court’s reaching with one hand, the other comfortably over ryland’s waist, and tugging colt in by the front of his shirt to kiss him, too.

colt melts with it, he’s just that type, and he’s gripping court’s shoulder and ryland’s thigh who seems to process what’s happening in front of him and makes another high-pitched strangled sound that both court and colt smile at, swallowed by the other’s lips in the next second.

ryland goes, sounding out of breath, “oh… my god.” and both of his older brother’s hands tighten where they’re gripping him until they finally pull away panting and then colt’s wiping his mouth and trying to pretend he isn’t flushed deep red while court barely even looks ruffled.

ryland, still perched awkwardly on court’s lap where he was manhandled, breathes out a disbelieving laugh. colt’s grinning and wheezing right along until it graduates into full-blown chuckles meanwhile court’s looking between the two of them with utter contentment on his face.

“what the hell, court?” colt manages, followed quickly by more laughter from ryland. court’s lips tug at the corner before he says, with complete seriousness, “been thinking about doing that for a long time.”

frankly, court expected it to feel like an admission of guilt, for how much he’s built it up in his head and fought with himself and agonized over how messed up he is whilst knowing he’s kinda always been this way and hey, he kills people for the government, so what’s some incest on top of that—

and then ryland says with amusement and some kind of incredulous joy, “you’re insane, you know that?” but he’s leaning in for more before court can say ‘yeah, i know,’ and then promptly being interrupted by colt’s indignant, “hey, what about me?”

and then ryland’s smiling and his lips slide away and court’s sucking in a sharp breath watching his little brothers kiss and he’s just thinking, ‘holy shit. i am the luckiest motherfucker on this planet.’

Small idea:

The twins were the type of kids to try and get “married” as kids. Colt proposed with a ring pop- Ryland finds that even as an adult ring pops are still on of his favorite candies

More on this- Colt helps pick the outfits his brother wears. This can range from short skirts that show off his thighs or short sleeve button ups that show off his toned arms. Management has had to separate them before shows because when Colt “helps” Ryland put on his outfit he always takes at least an hour longer to get ready for the show.

Ryland isn’t innocent in this either. Sometimes he puts Colt in his clothes (perks of being twins). Specifically the ones that are uniforms (think sexy cop or sexy general). What can he say he loves his brother in uniform~

Alright my Royalty au- walk with me reader

Colt won the tournament, he is the happiest he’s ever been. He gets to marry his brother, protect him, wake up with him every morning and see him smile. But he still doesn’t quite understand court etiquette, in his defense Ryland was the only example he knew personally and his twin is a very blunt man. Of course Ryland will be the king and is the sole heir to the throne- he can get away with a lot of shit.

Colt’s first night in the castle and he’s breaks almost every court rule known: he talks even when unaddressed, he eats before Ryland does (in his defense the tournament took a lot out of him), and admits to not knowing anything about the current political stage. Ryland doesn’t mind, it’s part of Colt’s charm and it’s nice to be treated as an equal.

The court is mortified, advisors and servants alike wonder how he is getting away with it when the rest of them get ripped into by Ryland when they step out of line or mess up a visiting noble’s title. It takes weeks if not months before Colt realizes that he isn’t doing this whole royalty right. He gets lessons from nobles that are friends, like Lady Moreno or Sir Tucker, or personal advisors of Ryland, such as Engineer Rocky and Scholar Adrian. He does all of this in secret, wanting to surprise Ryland and show off how good of a royal husband he can be.

Eventually the brothers have a ball in honor of their marriage- finally a chance for Colt to show off his new skills.

The ball is in full swing, people dancing and celebrating. Ryland is beautiful and/or handsome (I’m a both twins in dresses truther but suits are also cool) and he is the star of the whole affair. Still he isn’t truly happy just yet because his brother hasn’t arrived. The big doors open and Colt walks in— properly introduced by the usher with his new title. He wore a matching outfit to Ryland (think yin and yang) and has Ryland’s jaw on the floor.

Colt meanders through the crowd using noble etiquette and acting like a proper lord. He addresses people by their titles, shakes hands with the important people, he even remembers their names (don’t ask Adrian how long it took for that). The court is ecstatic, finally the new king is behaving exactly how he’s supposed to! By the time he gets to Ryland, Colt is expecting a blushing brother who is charmed by his new social skills. Instead, Ryland looks like he bit something sour.

Ryland is slightly cold to him throughout the night and has Colt stressing out wondering what he did wrong. By the time it comes for them to dance, Colt tries to make it up to his brother by asking him to dance. Ryland accepts thinking Colt will either start to do a typical commoner celebration dance or maybe quietly admit that he doesn’t know whatever royal waltz he needs to know so Ryland can teach him. Ryland is shocked when Colt does the waltz perfectly and it breaks him a little— Colt didn’t even come to him for help.

After the dance Ryland leaves for the balcony and Colt follows closely after, asking what he did wrong. Ryland is embarrassed to admit that it’s because he has done nothing wrong. He’s scared because now Colt might treat him like how everyone else does rather than an equal like before and he had been excited to teach Colt everything he needed to know himself. When Colt hears this his heart breaks a little. Then he tells Ryland that he did all of this so he could impress him that night. Ryland tells him he already won his heart there was no need for him to change himself. Colt tells Ryland that he will always be his husband, his brother, before he is ever Colt’s king.

The two kiss and make up and Ryland makes Colt promise to not go behind his back like this again— he wants to be part of Colt’s journey. Colt agrees. He then asks if Ryland wants to leave— just the two of them. His twin says it would be very rude and unprofessional for the kings to leave a ball early… and that he will race Colt to their bedroom.

The rest of their night was shared between the two of them alone ❤️

Okay so my naughty pic idea for the Coltland twins— it baked over night, still may be a bit raw but it’s the vibes of the whole thing

They send each other pictures all the time, ranging from innocent and domestic to slightly suggestive to completely lewd. Ryland is pretty cautious about opening photos from Colt at work (if only to avoid the wrath of an angry parent) still when he gets a moment to be alone he’ll send a message or two and will definitely take the time to ogle at any flexing photos Colt decided to send. Colt, on the other hand, is more than happy to message Ryland back whenever he can. When he notices it’s a spicy photo he makes sure no one else saw it (after all it’s for his eyes only).

Of course eventually due to Colt’s habit of just opening the messages wherever someone on set spots one of Ryland’s more suggestive photos (nothing more than him biting one of the arms of his glasses and popping open some of the buttons on his shirt). Rumors start and blow things out of proportion like they usually do: saying that Colt sends photos like that to actors and sleeps with them or has posted the photos somewhere online for money.

Colt doesn’t mind the rumors— as far as he’s concerned it’s better than anyone realizing it was a photo of Ryland. He is more cautious about texting Ryland on set but he can never go full cold-turkey, he loves talking to his brother too much to wait until he’s home/back in his hotel room to respond to him.

Ryder hears the rumors and is upset because either a) Colt gets more action than him with his costars or b) Colt is making money on the side and may stop being a stunt actor if it makes enough money. He knows pretty much everything that has happened in the online space and is fairly confident that Colt isn’t posting those photos anywhere for money but now it’s a matter of pride because what do you mean that stunt man possibly gets laid more than him— he is literally Tom Ryder.

So Ryder waits until Colt is busy with a stunt and snatches his phone sending himself the incriminating photos. Later he corners Colt and tries to blackmail him with the photos (can’t let this stunt guy feel too safe at work). When Colt sees that Ryder has Ryland’s photos he sees red— yelling at Ryder and threatening to make his life hell.

This is the only time Ryder has been kind of intimidated of Colt, the stuntman had kinda been a pushover even if he complained loudly about Ryder, but now Ryder fears for his career as Colt threatens to tear it all to the ground. He’s stunned as Colt snatches his phone and deletes all the photos he sent to himself and tells him that with no uncertainty that if Ryder tries this again, he will bring hell down on him.

This is an actual small idea. What if the twins took naughty pics of themselves- obviously they can tell themselves apart so they keep the photos of each other when they are in different places. But if others can’t I’m imagining a scenario where someone on set looks over Colt’s shoulder and sees a naughty pic of Ryland, but they think it’s him and start pestering him “who are you sending THAT to?” “None of your business” “You wear glasses?” “Yes, but I wear contacts on set-“ “is the person you’re sending that too into glasses” “…”

This idea is still percolating in my brain but when I finish it- I’ll post it to my new blog >:3

also thinking about what their versions of the photos are… colt loves when ryland pushes his glasses down his nose and poses like that. he doesn’t really need a lot of skin, but he enjoys it anyways— he LOVES bare chest, shoulders, and neck in particular. he also likes when ryland smiles in the pictures

ryland on the other hand, he likes when colt just looks natural. colt really doesn’t need to flex for his muscles to be prominent anyways, so he poses in different ways. usually very risqué like towel or sweatpants dangerously low on his hips; immediate post-filming day when he’s still sweaty and/or dirty and getting undressed (picture belt unbuckled, pants open, completely shirtless), that type of stuff

they both are definitely into pics taken in bed, whether nude or not. there’s gotta be a few that are just them looking cozy n sleepy n cute & huggable in bed because being busy and long distance sucks sometimes!!!

and obviously not every picture is the same type, hence why npcs can confuse them, especially if— though it’s rare— it’s a faceless pic. i imagine a coworker seeing colt on ryland’s phone and going “huh. i didn’t know you’ve been bulking up” and after ryland’s soul leaves his body for a second and he shoves the phone in his pocket he’s like “uh. oh. yeah. just uh… you know. wanting to be in shape!”

I’ve had another brain blast of a fanfic idea (I’m sorry that you are turning into my Coltland notebook):

This is on earth (no astrophage) Ryland is still a teacher and Colt is still working for Ryder (so pre Fall Guy) Standard set piece of Ryland being invited to set by Colt (because he wants to impress him so much- they aren’t dating neither are brave enough to confess feelings) and Ryder decides he is going to flirt with Ryland to piss Colt off going so far as to invite Ryland to a bar after the day’s work.

Ryland accepts cause Colt is Ryder’s stunt double for a reason and just wants to pretend Ryder is Colt. So Colt is chilling (aka brooding) in the corner of the bar as he watches his dickhead boss flirt with his brother. Maybe Ryder makes a certain comment or gets too handsy and Colt decides to just grab Ry and get out of there.

Ryland is drunk and bratty now. He makes a sexual comment about Colt performing intimacy scenes in Ryder’s stead (insert Ryder never dos his own stunts joke here). He’s just trying to get Colt to let him go back to his wallowing but Colt surprises him by saying “Yeah actually I do perform his intimacy scenes for him- let me show you how it’s really done”

then they fuck and have a conversation in the morning

Bonus: Ryder still tries to get with Ryland after a while Ryland just says “maybe if you did your own stunts I would get with you” (not really but Ryland is just feeling bitchy and wants to push Ryder’s buttons). Ryder thinks Colt has something to do with Ryland’s sudden disinterest (he does but not in the way Ryder thinks) and then causes Colt’s Fall (tm) and then Fall Guy happens except with Coltland

This headcanon/idea goes out to my fellow humans dying in the heat this summer:

During the summer the twins love going to the pool/beach- but they enjoy it in very different ways. Colt is the twin that’s always in the water; surfing, swimming, doing ill-advised cannonballs. Every time he gets out of the water he makes sure to give Ryland a show (he loves seeing his twin show off his body). Ryland is the opposite- enjoying the company while sunbathing or reading; sometimes Ryland prints out the latest scientific paper for some “light reading” by the water side. Of course Colt thinks his twin is a total smoke show- showing off his legs and arms while waiting for Colt to get out of the water.

Of course both of them love putting sunscreen on each other- anything that gives them an excuse to get their hands all over each other.

Bonus:

If they have kids (bio with one of them being ftm or adopted) they would turn into that meme with Chris hemsworth and RDJ and their kids at the beach- Colt tossing around their kids in the water like it’s nothing and Ryland carefully wrapping them in a towel

i know exactly what you’re talking about with the chris hemsworth-rdj pictures, that is SO LITERALLY THEM. whoever colt is swinging by the ankle is giggling and laughing and squealing the entire time meanwhile ryland and the kid he is carefully keeping wrapped up and in the shade watch with similar looks of “i would never do that” exasperation 😭 like: “dad’s weird.” “yeah… he really is.”

Fic idea anon here-

This idea has been rotating in my head and I need people to share it with; Colt and Ryland becoming like Adam and Eve.

Colt and Ryland are both sent on the Project Hail Mary (personally I like the idea that they don’t remember they are siblings and assume the fact they share a last name is because they are married ) anyway they go through the plot and end up on Erid. When Rocky offers them a way back they both deny it- saying they would rather stay here where they can be together without anyone trying to separate them.

Maybe when Rocky and/or Adrian brings up whether they will have pebbles (aka children) Colt makes a joke about populating Erid with humans personally- the Eridians arent opposed to the idea since now they can see how humans develop.

I love the idea of them making love in a garden, truly Adam and Eve style.

Bonus:

If Earth sends a ship to Erid being like “hey can we get the graces back since they are alive” they are either met with angry Eridians who don’t want their humans being taken or a bunch of children that look suspiciously like Colt and Ryland. (Ryland will not abandon the planet that has been so kind to him and Colt will kill anyone that tries to take his brother away from him.)

You and I are on the same wavelength- I love getting to share my ideas with you! Speaking of ideas…

Kinda Royalty au- hear me out-

Ryland and Colt are still twins but were separated at birth (mom was a commoner but dad was the king, they decided to just take one each)- they still know of each other and know they are related (hard to deny when they are twins). Colt wants to be by his brother’s side but is worried revealing he exists will cause people to fight over succession once the king dies (he would never take his brother’s throne). Ryland wants desperately to join his brother among the people and maybe become a teacher but he has a responsibility to the kingdom and being with Colt could put him in danger. As the king gets older and sicker, people look to Ryland for leadership.

After a while the court starts asking about marriage and Ryland having his own heirs to the throne. Soon people from all over start asking for his hand in marriage (nobles, other princes and princesses). Ryland finally gets fed up with all these requests and says he will hold a tournament; the winner will get to marry him. After all his spouse would need to be able to fight and protect him from both enemies and people who sour from not getting to marry him.

During the competition a masked knight enters. He doesn’t speak but it’s clear he wants to win. He fights with a desperation only someone truly in love with Ryland could have. During the final round, when the masked knight is supposed to go up against his final opponent, Ry calls him off to the side. The people watch as their beloved prince ties a cloth around the knight’s arm, giving him his favor and blessing to win. The knight fights with more vigor than ever, almost killing his opponent in order to win. But when it’s all said and done the people call out to see the spouse of the future king.

The masked knight stands by Ryland’s side as he takes off his helmet revealing Colt (yay). The people are confused and befuddled- Ryland raises a hand to silence the roaring crowd. As the crowd goes quiet, Ryland turns to Colt and kisses him deeply before turning to the crowd. “This man is to be my husband- any who oppose us can fight him should they choose, I warn you though, he has proven to be the best fighter and the strongest man by my side!”

When Ryland is crowned King, his twin brother takes up the mantel of being his personal knight, his general- ready to lead armies in his name. They become known as the twin suns of the kingdom and their love is told for generations ❤️

Bonus:

Ryland’s “heirs” are just his students who form a sort of council state after he passes. Colt would guide Ryland through the town and when kids came up asking all sorts of questions, Ryland was more than happy to answer. Eventually he has the students bring their families to live up in the castle and teaches them in his own personal library.
