I will continue to Under the Oak until more people get into it.
I feel like if you like Story of Saiunkoku or Yona of the Dawn, or even Dawn of the Arcana, Under the Oak Tree does a good job of making a setting and fantasy world while giving enough focus on different characters but constantly developing both the protagonist, her love interest and their relationship together.
Maybe that’s the shoujo format? I don’t really know 😅. I generally read shounen so it’s easier to pinpoint the methods and structure of a shounen but all those stories I listed above are excellent romance and character development stories.
Also you can read Under the Oak Tree’s official light novel(web novel?) translated on Amazon Kindle 👀.
