Hi everyone! We both know there are a lot of mixed reviews about season 7. Some people love it, some people hate it. There were a lot of upsides to the season and a lot of downsides. However, we have been working on a very special project for a very long time. We have been compiling playlists of songs that describe the different voltron ships throughout their existence according to our own fanon, and common fanons throughout the fandom. And we would like your help with the next part of this project! We will be creating fan art for each song depicting the couple in the scenario the song represents. (ex. River by Bishop Briggs is sort of when lance and keith come together in an I hate you so much but your really fucking hot way, in our fanon.) Please note that this fanart can be in whatever format you like! A comic, a single drawing, an animatic, ANYTHING! We just want y’all to be creative! We will be posting the playlists on both of our accounts with our ideas of where the different songs land in our fanon written below each link. Please, if you decide you would like to make fan art, tag it with #voltron playlist, and we will continue updating the playlists with different fan art submissions as they come in. We hope that this project may help bring the fandom together during this rather difficult time. Seeing everyone fighting is extremely discouraging and we would love to create something that everyone can happily work on.

And lance gets angry because Keith is so self conscious he can’t believe that someone could actually care about him. Keith is stunned and rushes Lance. adam’s heart is in his throat. he can still feel the ache where it used to be, hollow in the spaces he’s always saved for shiro, but there’s a quiet kind of hope simmering, breathing life back into the parts of him he was sure he’d lost forever. his computer screen is blank, but with a push of a button, he knows that whatever fills up the empty space will change his life once again, and he’s not sure he’s ready for it, will ever be ready for something like that again.

“watch it,” he hears, the soothing tone of sam holt. “i promise you’ll get your answers.”

he takes a deep breath, trying to push down the nausea he’s suddenly feeling. he doesn’t know what he should feel, but he hopes to god that he won’t be let down, that this won’t reopen the scars over his heart he’s been nursing since news of shiro’s death broke. his fingers itch to do something, anything but the incessant fidgeting he can’t seem to fight. so he finally caves, and he reaches forward, fingers hovering for a brief moment before he finally finds the resolve to press play.

and it’s like he can finally breathe after a long, long time of suffocating. shiro is there, filling up his computer screen, looking a little nervous as he fidgets with his hand. adam makes note of the metal hand, the thick scar running over shiro’s nose and the tuft of white hair falling over his forehead. he looks so tired, so worn, and adam can’t fight the tears that well and spill over, or the way his hands fly to his mouth to muffle his choked sob.

shiro’s there, on his screen, smiling sadly as he tilts his head in that way that adam absolutely adores, looking beaten and broken but so very alive.

“hey, adam,” he murmurs, soft and a little scared. “i know this is probably the last thing you’re expecting, but, uh, well, hey.”

adam laughs, mirroring shiro onscreen, and he’s sobbing now but he’s relieved, so very relieved, relieved that shiro’s out there somewhere, alive and breathing, relieved that he there’s a possibility shiro could come back to him, that adam could feel him again, his heart and his heat and his love. he can’t stop smiling, but he doesn’t fight it anyway, too filled with hope, with longing for shiro again.

“i know we ended things on a bad note, but i just want you to know that there isn’t a day that goes by that i don’t think of you,” shiro says, sounding more somber. “i went through a lot out here, i won’t lie, but you need to know that you’re what got me through the worst of it.”

shiro takes a deep breath before continuing, “i also need you to know that i’m coming home, no matter what, and i’ll do whatever it takes to get back to you. i know you said you wouldn’t be waiting for me, but adam, i love you so much, so much more than i could ever possibly put into words, and i can only hope that maybe you can find it in yourself to forgive me for leaving you.”

adam’s crying harder now, that same guilt he thought he buried clawing its way to the surface again, regret over the things he said and the way things ended churning hot and heavy and angry in the pit of his stomach. if he could take back everything he would in a heartbeat, but it’s too late now, and he knows the least he can do now is wait for shiro and hope to god that he makes it back, that he comes home to him and that adam can fix things after breaking them so horribly.

“i have so much i want to tell you,” shiro laughs, shaking his head slightly. “i understand if you turn this off right now, or if you’ve already done so, but a part of me still hopes you’re just as in love with me as i still am with you and that you’re listening, so i’m just going to keep talking…”

adam laughs, but it’s hoarse and thick with his tears. he feels his shoulders settle, the tension he had been carrying for so long melting away, giving way to a softer sort of hope and a new, burning determination.

tomorrow, he will go to the garrison and hope they will grant him reinstatement so he can do whatever it takes to bring shiro home, to bring all of them home.

tonight, he settles back into his computer chair, smiling like a fool, eager to do some much needed catching up.
