I’ve been busy with a new job recently, but here’s a new pic that I finally had time to finish up.  This is Jason as Zuko from The Last Airbender.

I’m still learning how to do effects, like the flame rings.  Now that I have tried doing things like this myself, I have a new appreciation for people who can do effects really well!  If anyone knows of some good tutorials, let me know.  Ones I have found haven’t been all that great.

Going back a few months and picking out some good shots:  here’s one of Arielle as Akroma, Angel of Fury from Magic: The Gathering.  This is from what I called the “Extreme” variant, with an overlay.  I’ll post some more versions soon.

These are a couple more “plain” versions of images I posted earlier.  The other versions include an extra color overlay on top of the image so as to give it a more fantasy-like feel.  I’ve posted these versions so that photography buffs can compare the two versions and see what kind of effect a color overlay has on an image.

The character is Akroma, Angel of Fury from the Magic: The Gathering game as made by Air Bubbles Cosplay.

Here are the “plain” versions of shots of Brandon as Star-Lord/Peter Quill from Guardians of the Galaxy.  Those interested in the photo retouching aspect of cosplay photography can compare these to the versions posted earlier.

Coming from a fashion & portrait photography background, I didn’t used to use so much in the way of colored gels on lights and/or color overlays, but after looking at other pro cosplay photography pics I noticed that it was a trend.

These are a couple “plain” versions of Akroma (without any color overlay) so that those of you interested in the photography and retouching side of things can compare them to the “colorized” versions.

The character is from Magic: The Gathering.  The costume was made and modeled by Air Bubbles Cosplay.

Here are some more closeups of the Akroma cosplay as made by Air Bubbles Cosplay.  Most, if not all, of the armor is worbla, including clear worbla over the LED lights.

The cape was custom printed fabric, in order to be totally authentic to the character from the Magic: The Gathering game.
