I owe a bunch of people replies, and I'll be getting to them all within the next few days as I attempt to remember how to Mikoto. I'm so sorry for my long absence. The only thing I can say is that I hate winter and winter hates me.

Sweet…? At least the candy wasn’t too bad.

The city is e n d l e s s . Every alley leads to another, every corner a dead end; there is no escape from the labyrinth known as Hive City. Many have combed the streets, the buildings, and even the districts that lie deep underground in futile attempts to find an exit, but they all come away empty-handed. Many have accepted that this fact can only lead to one answer to the question asked of this stranger… but Sinbad has not.
“Animals are rarely kept in cages if their sole purpose is to die," he says. “I can’t believe anyone would gather such a large number of people from such vastly different worlds without a purpose." He speaks steadily, as this is something he has thought much about since his arrival months ago. It is inconceivable to think that their purpose is nonexistent, but perhaps even more ridiculous is this man’s implied solution.
Sinbad regards his second question with amusement - a sentiment that is clearly displayed on his face as he chuckles in response. “No one knows where they are, do they? There are rumors that they live in the city’s core, but…" In an instant, the laughter disappears from his voice. “What do you plan to do if you find them? They’re the ones who brought us here, remember. They’re able to strip us of our abilities and return them as they see fit. How do you plan to fight such an enemy?”
"Can't...? Or, don't want to believe?"
There was a difference -- And Mikoto knew that there was no limit to what humankind was capable of. Although even he didn't want to believe that anyone would capture another and restrain them in all but the most physical manner, the fact still remained that there were those capable of such a feat. Humankind has often made their greatest and most terrible advances performing certain tasks simply to see if they could. It was almost poetic, really.
i r o n i c, too.
"In the core, huh." It made sense. Someone with such power would obviously place themselves at the center of the chaos. He considered the words carefully, before tilting his head back to gaze at the sky, eyes ablaze and lips curled in subtle amusement. "Plan? There isn't a plan. I'll do things the way I always do them."
That is to say run in, proverbial guns ablaze. His way was to find answers quickly -- Sometimes, painfully.
He rubbed his chin in thought, adding seriously, "Being stripped of our abilities is a concern. But they do return them, if what you said is true. Once I find out where they are, I'll force them to return them. There is something I must do. Something important. I refuse to remain here, like cattle waiting for slaughter."
Inferno
I am not a fire I am an inferno My flames consume nations My ashes choke the sky My heat melts oceans And my heart will not die
You who could withstand me Shall never extinguish me
I am so much more than fire And it’s about time that I learn My heart shall not expire My flames will always burn. (G.S)

Fire, flood, kraken, fried kraken, pooooossibly piranhas.
Sounds warm and pleasant. Is there any left? I'm kind of hungry.
Doesn't know what's happened, doesn't really care. Sleeps through the New Year.

Walks outside for two minutes. Turns around to go back inside. This city is strange.
New Year's Eve? Time to get in some more sleep. It's a good thing he found his housing last night. (Finally.)

There he was -- He didn't know how the man had arrived here, nor why he would choose now to make his appearance, but it was him all the same.
At least, he was fairly certain that the man he was tracking happened to be the one responsible for Totsuka's death. It hadn't occurred to him to look anywhere in Hive City for said murderer, still unknowing as he was of the fact that there were others from Shizume City, from his home, inside these walls. This sudden 'sighting' had, therefore, caught him off-guard...but provide the motivation necessary for him to focus on something other than the heinous prison he was currently being forced to call home.
It was no surprise that when he learned his target wasn't the man he'd been unknowingly searching for even here, he reacted violently.
Leaving the room behind without a backward glance, he exited the building that should have been condemned ages ago, and entered the alleyway in the rear. His hands clenched tightly into fists at his sides, opening and closing, the knuckles white, wrists and fingers cracking ominously. No longer able to repress his deep seated anger and irritation, the agony welling up and impossible to ignore, Mikoto burst at the seams. The unfortunate target he chose to unleash his frustrations out on was a nearby garbage disposal, sending it flying through the air. It landed opposite where it once stood, the resounding ‘clang’ it made when it hit the ground almost satisfying in its volume.
The man he'd been tracking had friends, and though they'd been unaware of his former presence inside the building they were using as a 'hideout,' they had obviously heard the noise and came to check. Just as well; it would make him feel far better to take out the negative emotions stewing inside of him on filthy little rats.
"Stand still --" And he moved, choosing to save his aura for those more deserving, relishing in the satisfying crunch of fist meeting bone. He made short work of them, the small time thugs holding little challenge for him, even despite his weakened strength. It was when there were only a few left that he realized the 'skirmish' had a small audience. "Come to help, or just watch?"
This City...was truly despicable in every way.

Shikamaru would probably advise Mikoto to wash his hands off women entirely and thank his lucky stars that he did not deal with troublesome women at all.
However, Mikoto’s luck had changed. For Ino was beaming at him, batting her lashes and a huge smile was plastered over her face.
"Well, I don’t know? Shall we try it?" She asked, ignoring his first statement and edging him over to a shop. "I was stripped of all my weapons and money. They still let you keep yours?"
…
He was staring at her the way Chouji stared at Korean barbecue. Err…
"Looks like we’re both hungry? Should we get some curry after we find you some warmer clothes? You’re going to freeze."
He blinked at her slowly, silently wondering if the blonde had something in her eye.
Mikoto allowed himself to be shuffled off to a shop, uncaring of the slightly forceful and invasive liberties she was taking without leave. He'd done his 'exploring' for the day, he had no other plans, and he was hungry. She might have been confusing, but her presence was...tolerable. It wasn't the worst situation.
"No. I don't use weapons, and I still have my wallet." Which had come as a pleasant surprise, though he hadn't attempted to see if it would come in handy at all here. "I could eat. Warmer clothes aren't...necessary. I don't get cold, so I'll be fine."
She looked as if a hard gust would go right through her, however.
The promise of food had him in higher spirits than before, though he wasn't the biggest fan of curry. It was more than he'd had all day, so he would eat it with relatively little fuss.

The night air was soothing, and Seishuu couldn’t understand why he hadn’t thought to take walks outside in the evening more often. There wasn’t anything inspirational about his surroundings and he still felt nervous stepping about in the darkness, and while he would never exactly feel entirely comfortable here, he had adjusted somewhat. There wasn’t much of a need for his fear to continuously bother him when it was unlikely he would ever escape this situation. So he had told himself for a while.
His own reassuring thoughts had vanished the moment he had heard a deep snarl from nearby, which would have made him cry out in fear if he hadn’t remembered on time that the growl was likely from the creatures said to be near. The last thing he desired was to be food for them, but at the very least they weren’t making any movements.
Backing away with slow movements, he tried to conceal himself in the shadows before suddenly he was addressed, bringing him to whip around with noticeable fear in his features. Seishuu had been completely unaware of the other’s presence, but he felt calmer seeing them compared to whatever the creature could be, although people definitely still made him a bit unnerved.
For a brief moment, he hoped it was the other they sensed, but immediately took back the thought. If he wished for that, he was wishing someone would be at the risk of harm in his place, and as much as he feared potential dangers, he wouldn’t actually prefer someone else to be injured instead of him. It would be fortunate for him, sure, but a larger part of him would feel eternally awful.
Biting at his lip a moment, he whispered in response, “I don’t think you have a lot of place to be saying that. Those … things are right there, you know. Even if you’re some sort of officer, it’s not safe.” Glancing about, he added with decreased volume, “Do you need someone to walk you home?”
Really, the only person who needed such a thing was himself.
One heavy brow raised in mild surprise and more than a little amusement at the return comment. He wondered if the other male knew how pale he appeared, surrounded by the inky blackness and illuminated by false light, found himself in approval of the 'bravado' he exhibited. Though it was obvious the other was...concerned about the creatures stalking their prey in the dark of the night, he was attempting to brush it off.
"Ah."
An amber gaze flickered to the nearby shadows, idly wondering when the beasts would decide that the meal before them was too tantalizing an opportunity to pass up -- And the corners of his lips twitched upward.
"I'm no officer; if they had them in a place like this, I'd be surprised." He snorted, pushing off the wall and running a hand through his hair in momentary distraction (at the thought of the Blues coming in and attempting to take control of the City.) Mikoto stared head on at the other male and said seriously, "They won't hurt me. But I could use the company."
He had zero intention of heading 'home,' but he somehow sensed this person might need the company this night. There was no sign of threat from the other male, which was surely unsafe in a place like this -- And he couldn't exactly sit back and let something like that sit on his conscience, which had become a little louder lately, at about the same time he'd arrived.
Rolling his shoulders slightly as he neared the stranger, he added, "I've got somewhere else to go tonight, but it'll be fine, until we part ways."
His way of saying, 'I'll walk you home.'
"One thing, before I graduate Never let your fear decide your fate.”
