CLEAR WATER LAKE WASHINGTON
My spring was soaked and I was bare
You kept me around for comfort, when winter was sharp and your flesh was flamed
My words sipped through the wet soil from the rain last night cause you never cared about what I said
Noticed that I didn’t mean anything to you when your friends didn’t even know my name
If I perpetuate, it’ll only turn to bore
Might keep it short and protect the lore
Cause you’ll keep me alive but skin me inside out as you smile and caress
I don’t mind if it ends cause eventually love will wilt
Love will wilt, lily of the valley wilt
But then you lie down with your lies that you lay on our lake
There was a tension that evening
A sudden tension went through the rented cabin in the woods in between tall trees and scented lake
After spring in between summer heat of June
Scattered were, uncooked groceries, unplayed records and promises that were undone
You gave a vision to rotate and a voice to violate
It was over
Viciously
Past moments and future matters culminated into one cold stare
8:30 pm you took your car and I took the bus home
What was made in America was no longer strong and last
Washington, we drove so far away to Washington
Washed away, your love for me was washed away
