I don’t think mama is Aoi. She was so paralyzed by men that I doubt she would be working in the sex trade and I doubt Doumeki would let her.

Things are getting more and more precarious. I'm really interested to see just how quickly things develop. Between Inami messing with Doumeki by showing him that video, and the ever present danger of the yakuza plot, there's also Tsunakawa and Misumi lurking in the background. If either of them find out about Yashiro and Doumeki, I think that could be incredibly dangerous for them both. I've stopped trying to predict Saezuru, but I know whatever Yoneda comes up with will be stellar. Can't wait for the full chapter.

Saezuru Ch. 42 - Summary

Chapter 42 came out today. There’s lots of talk and very little action, so it took me a while to write the summary. But the conversation between Yashiro and Tsunakawa was indeed quite interesting, although I have to admit that I was hoping for a bit more emotion from Yashiro. He has to talk to Tsunakawa in polite language by the way, because Tsunakawa is older than him (and a group leader of course). I really like that, because he rarely had to be polite lately. :D 

!! Chapter 43 is announced for November 30 and will probably be the last chapter in volume 7, so expect a hellish cliffhanger next time.

Foresight

The upstart gang trying to sell drugs on their territory was crazier than expected and the assassination attempt on Misumi came so quick they barely had time to breathe. 

Amou took the bullets for him and almost didn’t make it. 

Yashiro stood by the hospital bed, his face its usual mask of detachment, but Misumi could read more. The kid had seen a lot in these last three years but today he truly realized how dangerous this world was, how easily one could die, and that rattled even the most apathetic of souls, cracking that passive mask. 

He’s probably wondering if that will happen to him. 

“Hey,” Misumi was sure he looked just as haggard as he felt. “C’mere,” he jerked his head toward the chair next to him. Steady beeps wound through the room as Yashiro took a seat, saying nothing. 

A few moments went by, the silence pressing down upon them. Misumi sighed. 

“My office, tomorrow morning.” His eyes never left Amou’s too-still figure, almost small in the hospital bed.  

“Eventually I’m going to step up. Hirata will have to be Kumichou but you…” 

The image of another subordinate burned in his mind,twisted in his heart. There were reasons behind his every move, lives depending on his plans. All of their lives. 

“You will be the next Wakagashira.”

Do you think that people can see through Yashiro's lies and not call him out on it? I'm sure an FBI agent trained in behavior analysis and highly professional actor would see through him and his facade. Does Yashiro not care if people know he's lying?

It depends on which lies you are referring to, because the only obvious lie was lying to Doumeki about forgetting him which turns out to be a half truth and he’s forgotten his face over time. We know this isn’t a lie because no one but the reader is privy to this info that Yashiro tells us himself.

Any info he keeps from Misumi is purely to protect Misumi and not considered to be a lie.

An FBI agent wouldn’t be able to see through Yashiro because Yashiro has probably fucked him so he’ll do what Yashiro says. As with most of the cops that helped him it was a mutual trade. Yashiro hasn’t done anything that would merit a visit by the FBI or whatever comparable Japanese agency.

An actor already plays make believe, and Yashiro is one of the best at putting on the face that says “I couldn’t care less” while he records your confession and emails it to the proper authorities. A professional actor can walk away from their acting. Yashiro lives inside it.

As for why they don’t call him out on it. I’m sure they don’t know what’s true and what’s a lie. He has kept his life secret. The lies Yashiro tells himself aren’t seen as lies to him because he truly believes he’s fine and doesn’t see anything wrong with how he’s handled things.

I want to clarify some things so there are no more misconceptions.

I scanlate Saezuru for the Saezuru fandom. I don’t give a rat’s ass about anyone else.

For the last 2 years since SteveScansSaezuru started scanning Saezuru we’ve always posted to 2 places and 2 places ONLY.

Discord and Tumblr.

Mangago, Mangadex, MRM and Mangafuckall can blow me. If the manga is posted to anywhere other than Discord or Tumblr it means some douchebag piece of shit downloaded the manga and handed it to those sites.

When we posted chapter 40 to Tumblr we asked that it not be shared, but some douchebag piece of shit posted it to mangago within minutes of it being posted to tumblr (the first time it was ever early!!!)

Team Steve came to a decision that we would like to give Yoneda Kou a chance to reap the financial benefits of her work before we post the scanlated chapter. Most people are totally fine with this. Some are absolute dicks.

For chapter 41, we decided to use Discord as an experimental control group, since the majority of people on the server are from the fandom.

I won’t share the details of what we did, that’s for Discord only. If you want to know... join the discord.

We have always posted the manga to Discord first whether there were 4 people or 400. The Discord has never been a super secret exclusive place. Anyone can join and we post the link frequently.

July 12 is the last chance to get the extras like the key chains etc. The DVD after that time will still have standard extras but not the “Animate” special extras.
