From somewhere pressed against his collarbone, the Pharaoh makes a soft noise that sounds carefully casual. “…I brought you back a souvenir, you know.”
Bakura’s breath has slowed down, but he’s not ready to open his eyes yet. The thief’s clever fingers run through crimson-tipped spikes absently, mind floating in a sea of endorphins. In response to the comment, he lets out a slow hum of vague curiosity. “Something you stole in broad daylight, I hope.”
Atem snorts, and it tickles a little against his skin. “Obviously not.” A pause. Then, quietly, “I think you’ll like it anyway.”
Oh, there it is again. The tone that hooks into Bakura’s heart in strange ways, that makes buzzing warmth bloom across his body.
The whitenette feels the edges of his mouth turn up and can’t help the pleased, raspy chuckle that rises and escapes his throat. “Alright, Pharaoh. I’ll judge this ‘souvenir’ of yours after breakfast tomorrow.” Whether or not he’ll be staying for breakfast isn’t a question that either of them bother to ask, anymore.
And maybe Atem feels it too, this knife’s edge of something that might be happiness, because the arm slung across the thief’s torso curls and tightens possessively. Bakura can feel the Pharaoh smirk, all smooth confidence now, that deep baritone voice a rumbling purr when he responds, “What makes you think we’ll be out of bed before lunch?”
